Dilute solution viscosity of fluorocarbon-containing hydrophobically modified poly (acrylic add) was measured in aqueous solutions of various NaCl concentrations. The intrinsic viscosity ([η]) and Huggins coefficient (kH) were evaluated using Huggins equations. It is found that, at low Nacl concentration, the modified polymers exhibit values of intrinsic viscosity ([η]) and Huggins coefficient (kH) similar to those of unmodified polymers. for both of the modified and unmodified polymers, the intrinsic viscosity decreases with increase of NaCl concentration, while the Huggins coefficient increases upon addition of NaCl. But the variation of [η] and kH is more significant for the modified polymers, which reflects the enhanced intra- and intermolecular hydrophobic association at higher Nacl concentration.

Type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1D)is an autoimmune disease that is characterized by a progressive infiltration of autoreactive T cells into the pancreatic islets and the destruction of insulin-producing beta cells.1 It is generally assumed that T1D is initiated by yet unidentified T cells that escape from thymic negative selection2 and trigger an initial destruction of beta cells.3 These initial hits could generate suitable conditions in beta cells and/or in islets that favor the coactivation and amplification of autoreactive T cells directed against a broad spectrum of beta cell-specific antigens,such as GAD65,IGRP,and IA-2.

In addition to susceptibility to infections,conventional primary immunodeficiency disorders(PIDs)and inborn errors of immunity(IEI)can cause immune dysregulation,manifesting as lymphoproliferative and/or autoimmune *** can be the prominent phenotype of PIDs and commonly includes cytopenias and rheumatological diseases,such as arthritis,systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE),and Sjogren’s syndrome(SjS).Recent advances in understanding the genetic basis of systemic autoimmune diseases and PIDs suggest an at least partially shared genetic background and therefore common pathogenic ***,we explore the interconnected pathogenic pathways of autoimmunity and primary immunodeficiency,highlighting the mechanisms breaking the different layers of immune tolerance to self-antigens in selected IEI.

To function optimally,human blood natural killer(NK)cells need to communicate with other immune ***,it has been shown that NK cells communicate with 6-sulfo LacNAc dendritic cells(slanDCs),which are able to stimulate NK cells in *** this study,we investigated how slanDCs regulate the level of NK cell *** secretion of interleukin(IL)-1βby slanDCs during coculture with NK cells increased as a result of signaling via intercellular adhesion molecule-1 on slanDCs following its interaction with lymphocyte functionassociated antigen-1 on NK ***-1βinduced the expression of fas receptor(CD95)on NK *** binding of fas ligand(CD178)to CD95 induced the apoptosis of activated NK ***,IL-1βalso induced increased cyclooxygenase-2 expression in slanDCs,which in turn enabled the cells to secrete prostaglandin(PG)-***,PGE2 acted as a suppressing agent,tuning down the activation level of NK *** summary,IL-1βlimits the level of NK cell activation by inducing apoptosis and suppression as a homeostatic regulatory function.

Liver infections with hepatotropic viruses, such as hepatitis B virus and hepatitis C virus are accompanied by viral persistence and immune failure. CD8＋ T cells are crucial mediators of the intrahepatic antiviral immune response. Chronic infections of the liver and other organs correlate with T-cell exhaustion. It was previously suggested that high antigen load could result in T-cell exhaustion. We aimed at elucidating the impact of different intrahepatic antigen loads on the quality of CD8＋ T-cell-mediated immunity by employing an infection-free transgenic mouse model expressing ovalbumin （Ova） as the target antigen. Adoptive transfer of OT-I cells induced a transient intrahepatic immune response toward both high and low Ova levels. However, antigen clearance was achieved only in mice expressing low antigen levels. In contrast, T cells exposed to high antigen levels underwent exhaustion and became depleted, causing antigen persistence. Moreover, when functional T cells were exposed to high intrahepatic antigen levels, a complete transition toward exhaustion was observed. Thus, this study shows that the antigen expression level in the liver correlates inversely with T-cell immunity in vivo and governs the efficiency of immune responses upon antigen presentation.
