By dint of historical herbarium specimens, we show how changes in species and habitat diversity can be reviewed and correlated with historical events. Our work is based on a digital database of specimens of the BOKU herbarium (WHB), which can be assigned to the Pannonian region of eastern Lower Austria. The complete dataset (n = 6655 specimens) was analyzed with the aid of statistical methods allowing computational elimination of collectors' effects (i.e. unbalanced collecting interests of collectors over time;multiple regression analysis, general linear model), from the first herbarium specimens (dating back to 1830) to the present. As a result, a significant decrease in the proportion of species of some habitats (above all water bodies and closely associated habitats, humid and wet meadows, fens and fen meadows, and nutrient poor grassland) was detected. For water-influenced habitats, this decrease correlates with the time of Danube regulation. Moreover, an increase in the proportion of species of ruderal sites was asserted during the observation period. The analysis procedure developed can be used for evaluation of major digitized herbaria in order to trace historical changes in species and habitat diversity.

We aim to evaluate the incidence of incontinence following laser endoscopic enucleation of the prostate(EEP)comparing en-bloc(Group 1)versus 2-lobe/3-lobe techniques(Group 2).We performed a retrospective review of patients undergoing EEP for benign prostaticenlargement in 12 centers between January 2020 and January *** were presented as median and interquartile range(IQR).Univariable and multivariable logistic regression analysis was performed to evaluate factors associated with stress urinary incontinence(SUI)and mixed urinary incontinence(MUI).There were 1711 patients in Group 1 and 3357 patients in Group *** in Group 2were significantly younger(68[62–73]years vs 69[63–74]years,P=0.002).Median(interquartile range)prostate volume(PV)wassimilar between the groups(70[52–92]ml in Group 1 vs 70[54–90]ml in Group 2,P=0.774).There was no difference in preoperativeInternational Prostate Symptom Score,quality of life,or maximum flow ***,morcellation,and total surgical time weresignificantly shorter in Group *** 1 month,overall incontinence rate was 6.3%in Group 1 versus 5.3%in Group 2(P=0.12),and urge incontinence was significantly higher in Group 1(55.1%vs 37.3%in Group 2,P<0.001).After 3 months,the overall rate ofincontinence was 1.7%in Group 1 versus 2.3%in Group 2(P=0.06),and SUI was significantly higher in Group 2(55.6%vs 24.1%in Group 1,P=0.002).At multivariable analysis,PV and IPSS were factors significantly associated with higher odds of transient SUI/***,surgical time,and no early apical release technique were factors associated with higher odds of persistent SUI/MUI.

This study utilizes machine learning and,more specifically,reinforcement learning(RL)to allow for an optimized,real-time operation of large numbers of decentral flexible assets on private household scale in the electricity *** potential and current obstacles of RL are demonstrated and a guide for interested practitioners is provided on how to tackle similar tasks without advanced skills in neural network *** the application in the energy domain it is demonstrated that state-of-the-art RL algorithms can be trained to control potentially millions of small-scale assets in private *** detail,the applied RL algorithm outperforms common heuristic algorithms and only falls slightly short of the results provided by linear optimization,but at less than a thousandth of the simulation ***,RL paves the way for aggregators of flexible energy assets to optimize profit over multiple use cases in a smart energy grid and thus also provide valuable grid services and a more sustainable operation of private energy assets.

The number of annually registered internal-combustion vehicles still exceeds electric-driven ones in most regions,e.g.,*** goals are disclosed with the European Green Deal,which calls for new technical approaches and greenhouse gas neutral transition *** bridging technologies are synthetic fuels for®the transportation sector,e.g.,using the bioliq process for a CO_(2)-neutral gasoline *** must meet the applicable national standards to be used in existing *** parameters can be variably adapted to their requirements by *** this work,we considered the upgrading of aromatic-rich DTG®gasoline from the bioliq *** heavy gasoline was therefore separated from the light one by *** investigated how to selectively modify the petrochemical parameters of the heavy gasoline,especially the boiling characteristics,to make the product suitable as a high-quality blending *** commercially available Pt/zeolite catalysts were tested over a wide range of temperature and space *** achieved high gasoline yields,while the content of light end compounds up to a boiling temperature of 150°C could be increased *** contrast to the high naphthenic content of the gasoline,the obtained octane numbers were *** the Motor Octane Number turned out unexpectedly high and showed a dependency on the isomerization of the naphthenic *** blending the upgraded heavy gasoline with the previously separated light gasoline,we could finally show that hydroprocessing is suitable for adjusting petrochemical *** aromatic concentration was 37.5%lower than that in the original raw gasoline,while the boiling characteristics improved ***,the final boiling point was 82°C lower,which is beneficial for the emission behavior.
