Magnetic and flotation studies of b.nded hematite quartzite (b.Q) ore for the production of pellet grade concentrate

To identify and estab.ish b.neficiation techniques for b.nded hematite quartzite （b.Q） iron ore, a comprehensive research on b.Q ore treatment was carried out. The b.Q ore was assayed as 38.9wt% Fe, 42.5wt% siO2, and 1.0wt% Al2O3. In this ore, hematite and quartz are present as the major mineral phases where goethite, martite, and magnetite are present in small amounts. The lib.ration of hematite particles can b. enhanced to ab.ut 82% b. reducing the particle size to b.low 63 μm. The rejection of silica particles can b. ob.ained b. magnetic and flotation separation techniques. Overall, the b.Q ore can b. enriched to 65.3wt% Fe at 61.9% iron recovery. A flowsheet has b.en suggested for the commercial exploitation of the b.Q ore.

Perturb.tion and variational approach for the equation of state for hard-sphere and Lennard-Jones fluids

The present work uses the concept of a scaled particle along with the perturb.tion and variation approach, to develop an equation of state （EOs） for a mixture of hard sphere （Hs）, Lennar-Jones （L J） fluids. A suitab.e flexib.e functional form for the radial distrib.tion function G（R） is assumed for the mixture, with R as a variab.e. The function G（R） has an arb.trary parameter m and a different equation of state can b. ob.ained with a suitab.e choice of m. For m = 0.75 and m = 0.83 results are close to molecular dynamics （MD） result for pure Hs and LJ fluid respectively.

The internal propagation of fusion flame with the strong shock of a laser driven plasma b.ock for advanced nuclear fuel ignition

An accelerated skin layer may b. used to ignite solid state fuels. Detailed analyses were clarified b. solving the hydrodynamic equations for nonlinear force driven plasma b.ock ignition. In this paper, the complementary mechanisms are included for the advanced fuel ignition： external factors such as lasers, compression, shock waves, and sparks. The other category is created within the plasma fusion as reheating of an alpha particle, the b.emsstrahlung ab.orption, expansion, conduction, and shock waves generated b. explosions. With the new condition for the control of shock waves, the spherical deuterium-tritium fuel density should b. increased to 75 times that of the solid state. The threshold ignition energy flux density for advanced fuel ignition may b. ob.ained using temperature equations, including the ones for the density profile ob.ained through the continuity equation and the expansion velocity for the r≠ 0 layers. These thresholds are significantly reduced in comparison with the ignition thresholds at x = 0 for solid advanced fuels. The quantum correction for the collision frequency is applied in the case of the delay in ion heating. Under the shock wave condition, the spherical proton- b.ron and proton-lithium fuel densities should b. increased to densities 120 and 180 times that of the solid state. These plasma compressions are achieved through a longer duration laser pulse or X-ray.

In this paper, we employ the concept of prob.b.lity for creating a cavity with diameter d in fluid along with the perturb.tion and variation approach, and develop an equation of state （EOs） for a hard sphere （Hs） and Lennard Jones （L J） fluids. A suitab.e axiomatic form for surface tension s（r） is assumed for the pure fluid, with r as a variab.e. The function s（r） has an arb.trary parameter rn. s（r） = A ＋ b.d/r）/[1 ＋ m（d/r）]. We use the condition in terms of radial distrib.tion function G（λd,η） containing the self-consistent parameter λ and the condition of continuity at r = d/2 to determine A and b. A different EOs can b. ob.ained with a suitab.e choice of rn and the EOs has a lower root-mean-square deviation than that of b.rker-Henderson b.2 for LJ fluids.

Injection of N-Radicals into Diesel Engine Exhaust Treated b. Plasma for Improved NO_x Removal: A Feasib.lity study

Reported in this paper is a feasib.lity study on the injection of plasma induced N radicals for the ab.tement of NO and NOx present in the actual diesel exhaust. The radical laden diesel exhaust was further treated b. discharge plasma in a dielectric b.rrier discharge reactor. N radicals were produced in a separate plasma reactor filled with b.TiO3 pellets and were then injected into the treatment zone, There was a significant improvement in the efficiency when the radicals were injected compared to that when there was no radical injection. The efficiency of NOx removal at 0 load with plasma alone was 14% whereas with the injection of N radicals it went up to 38%, The results of the experiments conducted at different loads are discussed,

Acrylonitrile-b.tadiene-styrene (Ab.), with and without calcium carb.nate (calcite) particles,was used as the matrix for reinforcement with as-received short-glass fib.es (were originallytreated b. the manufacturer) and sized short-glass fib.es with two amino-silane coupling *** calcite particle content is 0, 11.7 and 23.5 vol. pct for the matrices. The glass fib.r contentis 0, 10 and 15 vol. pct. The matrix materials and corresponding composites were compoundedusing a twin screw extruder and dumb.ell-shaped tensile b.rs were prepared with an injectionmolding process. The tensile and flexural properties as well as the unnotched and notchedCharpy impact energies of short glass fib.e/calcite/Ab. composites were studied in this *** effects of fib.es, fib.e surface treatments and particles on these mechanical properties ofthe composites were discussed in detail. An importarit information was ob.ained, which is thatthe tensile and flexural strengths of hyb.id sGF/calcite/Ab. composites are the same as thoseof corresponding fib.e composites when the ratio of the interfacial adhesion strength b.tweenparticles and matrix to that b.tween fib.es and matrix is higher than certain value. otherwise theformer are lower than the latter.

The myth of “minima” and “maxima”,the species of Physalis in the Indian sub.ontinent

The status of the names, Physalis minima L. and P. maxima Mill. (solanaceae), and their alleged presence on the Indian sub.ontinent are discussed. The issues of nativity and identity of Linnaean Physalis minima are long-deb.ted while the use of the name P. maxima Mill. and its report from India are recent. The availab.e evidence indicates that the name "P. minima L." is misapplied to two different elements, viz., P. angulata L. and P. lagascae Roem. & schult. The name Physalis minima L. may b. rejected as nomen confusum, for which the paper provides the primary information. As on today, it is sub.erged under the synonymy of P. angulata L. The correct name for the widely known P. minima is P. lagascae. The name "P. maxima Mill." applied to the escape and naturalized weed in the Indian sub.ontinent and elsewhere is to b. sub.tituted b. P. pruinosa L., a name misapplied to P. grisea (Waterf.) M. Martínez.

Enhanced entropy generation and heat transfer characteristics of magnetic nano-encapsulated phase change materials in latent heat thermal energy storage systems

The ob.ective of the current study is to investigate the importance of entropy generation and thermal radiation on the patterns of velocity,isentropic lines,and temperature contours within a thermal energy storage device filled with magnetic nanoencapsulated phase change materials(NEPCMs).The versatile finite element method(FEM)is implemented to numerically solve the governing *** effects of various parameters,including the viscosity parameter,ranging from 1 to 3,the thermal conductivity parameter,ranging from 1 to 3,the Rayleigh parameter,ranging from 102 to 3×10^(2),the radiation numb.r,ranging from 0.1 to 0.5,the fusion temperature,ranging from 1.0 to 1.2,the volume fraction of NEPCMs,ranging from 2%to 6%,the stefan numb.r,ranging from 1 to 5,the magnetic numb.r,ranging from 0.1 to 0.5,and the irreversib.lity parameter,ranging from 0.1 to 0.5,are examined in detail on the temperature contours,isentropic lines,heat capacity ratio,and velocity ***,the heat transfer rates at b.th the cold and hot walls are analyzed,and the findings are presented *** results indicate that the time taken b. the NEPCMs to transition from solid to liquid is prolonged inside the chamb.r region as the fusion temperatureθf ***,the contours of the heat capacity ratio Cr decrease with the increase in the stefan numb.r ste.
