Background:Post-mortem and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)studies of the central sulcus,as an indicator of motor cortex,have shown that in the general population there is greater representation of the dominant compared to the non-dominant *** of musicians,who are highly skilled in performing complex finger movements,have suggested this dominance is affected by musical training,but methods and findings have been ***:In the present study,an automated image analysis pipeline using a 3d mesh approach was applied to measure central sulcus(CS)asymmetry on MR images obtained for a cohort of right-handed pianists and matched ***:The depth,length,and surface area(SA)of the CS and thickness of the cortical mantle adjacent to the CS were measured in each cerebral hemisphere by applying the BrainVISA Morphologist 2012 software pipeline to 3d T1-weighted MR images of the brain obtained for 15 right-handed pianists and 14 controls,matched with respect to age,sex,and *** indices(AIs)were calculated for each parameter and multivariate analysis of covariance(MANCOVA),and post hoc tests were performed to compare differences between the pianist and control ***:A one-way MANCOVA across the four AIs,controlling for age and sex,revealed a significant main effect of group(P=0.04),and post hoc analysis revealed that while SA was significantly greater in the left than the right cerebral hemisphere in controls(Pdifference between left and right SA in the pianists(P=0.634).Independent samples t-tests revealed that the SA of right CS was significantly larger in pianists compared to controls(P=0.015),with no between-group differences in left ***:Application of an image analysis pipeline to 3d MR images has provided robust evidence of sig-nificantly increased representation of the non-dominant hand in the brain of pianists compared to age-,sex-,and handedness-matched *** finding su

Bone tumors are infrequent within the scapula. Total scapulectomy with massive allograft reconstruction represents an attractive alternative to amputation when the whole scapula is invaded with tumor and the neurovascular bundle can be preserved during tumor resection. We report a case of resection of the scapula and proximal humerus for recurrent osteosarcoma with massive allograft reconstruction of the scapula and proximal humerus. A 22-year-old male patient was seen in February 1992 for a pathological fracture of the proximal left humerus. In July 1992, a resection of the proximal end of the humerus followed by a reconstruction with osteochondral allograft and nail osteosynthesis was performed. The postoperative course was uneventful. In September 2009, 17 years later, the patient presented with a huge tumor developed at the level of the scapula. There was no vascular or neurological symptom. Plain radiography showed an expansive osteolytic mass. CT scan demonstrated scapular and proximal humerus invasion. An extended assessment revealed the presence of two pulmonary nodules. The biopsy confirmed the recurrence of osteosarcoma. The indication of a resection of both the left scapula and the 1992 allograft which was completely invaded at its proximal portion and the complete reconstruction of the scapula and the proximal humerus with allograft was made. One year postoperatively, we note a favourable outcome in terms of musculoskeletal functions. despite two resection surgeries of pulmonary nodules and chemotherapy treatments, the patient developed new lung metastases and an unfavourable outcome. Although shoulder function was almost completely eliminated following surgery, preservation of elbow, wrist and finger motion resulted in an acceptable level of postoperative limb function. This reconstruction appears to be an attractive technique to be used in similar cases. The necessity of a reliable tissue bank with quality allografts in sufficient number is paramount.

越来越多的证据表明,心理治疗可有效改善癫痫和心因性非痫性发作(Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures,PNES)的预后。然而,治疗期间发作的风险可能引发对治疗安全性和发作导致治疗中断的担忧。研究探讨癫痫和PNES患者的发作风险、心理治疗期间发作的时间以及心理治疗师应对发作的措施。研究纳入了连续在英国两个神经病学中心接受心理治疗的癫痫和PNES患者。采用一个包含12项信息的调研表格收集患者在门诊心理治疗期间发作的信息。研究共评估了97例癫痫患者和195例PNES患者。1/32的癫痫患者和1/8的PNES患者在治疗期间至少有1次发作。癫痫患者出现发作的疗程占总疗程的1/136,PNES患者出现发作的疗程占总疗程的1/36。PNES患者治疗期间发作的风险显著高于癫痫患者[(OR=4.4,95%CI(1.3,15.2)]。发作往往发生于整个治疗的前半部分和个别治疗期,且仅短暂中断治疗。仅有1例PNES患者需住院观察,但无需留院过夜。心理治疗期间确实会出现发作,且PNES患者比癫痫患者更为常见。发作较少对心理治疗造成重大干扰,治疗师多可在没有额外医务人员帮助的情况下进行治疗。尽管如此,该研究表明心理治疗师应预测治疗期间发作的风险并制定安全的管理计划。PNES患者在治疗期间发作频率较高,有助于我们理解其诱导发作的机制。

In our previous work, we study fuzzy Itôintegrals driven by a fuzzy Brownian motion. In this article, we continue this study. The purpose of this paper is to study the weak uniqueness of fuzzy stochastic differential equations taking into account fuzzy Brownian motion. For instance, we construct the fuzzy stochastic differential equation driven by a fuzzy Brownian motion. To define and prove our results, we use the fuzzification, the alpha cut method and the Hausdorff distance between two fuzzy quantities. Some results are to our credit in this article like the instance, we construct the fuzzy stochastic differrential equation driven by fuzzy Brownian motion. Furthermore, we develop fuzzy Itôcalculus driven by a fuzzy Brownian motion. Our result complement existing ones in that the fuzzy version of Brownian motion is taken into account.

demand for non-invasive techniques to treat oculofacial pathology has allowed for the growth and development of several new laser and light therapy modalities. These modalities include the use of intense pulsed light(IPL) and photodynamic therapy(PdT), light-emitting diode devices, as well as ablative and non-ablative lasers. Therapeutic applications in the periorbital area may involve the treatment of vascular lesions, telangiectasias, dyspigmentation, photodamage, hypertrichosis, rhytids, and scars. Laser and light-based technology offers patients treatment options that range from conservative to aggressive, allowing for choices between subtle results with little downtime or dramatic results with longer downtime. Advantages of laser treatments, as compared to traditional medical and surgical treatments, include a longer lasting effect than some of the conservative therapies and the ability to serve as a happy medium between non-invasive topical medicine and invasive surgical techniques. For patients seekingnon-invasive alternatives, these modalities confer a major advantage over incisional surgery. Understanding appropriate usage, side effects, and outcomes is before treating functional and cosmetic issues. Here we present a review of current treatment modalities, their use, side effects, and outcomes.
