Polypropylene （PP） was treated by an oxygen capacitively coupled radio frequency plasma （CCP） under a radio frequency （RF） power of 200 W for exposure time of 1, 5, and 10 rain. The ageing process of the plasma- treated PP was studied at an ageing temperature of 90 ~C during an ageing time up to 25 h. The formation of the nanotextures with different geometry and aspect ratio and the grafting of large number of oxygen- containing groups were achieved on as-treated PP surfaces under the oxygen CCP treatment for the increased exposure time. The hydrophilicity on the as-treated PP surfaces with the stable nanotextures was rapidly depressed during the ageing process at 90 ℃ due to the restructuring of chemical composition. The surface restructuring rate was dependent on the aspect ratio and the oxygen-containing groups on the nanotextured PP with increasing exposure time. The hydrophobic over-recovery to high hydrophobicity and superhydrophobicity were observed on the post-aged surfaces with the stable nanofibrils from as-treated hydrophilic surfaces. The superhydrophobicity with the low water adhesion was achieved on the post-aged surfaces preserving the nanofibrils with high aspect ratio and large distance due to the decrease of the oxygen-containing groups after the surface restructuring.

The dipole–dipole interaction model is employed to investigate the angular dependence of the levitation and lateral forces acting on a small magnet in an anti-symmetric magnet/superconducting sphere system. Breaking the symmetry of the system enables us to study the lateral force which is important in the stability of the magnet above a superconducting sphere in the meissner state. Under the assumption that the lateral displacement of the magnet is small compared to the physical dimensions of our proposed system, analytical expressions are obtained for the levitation and lateral forces as a function of the geometrical parameters of the superconductor as well as the height, the lateral displacement, and the orientation of the magnetic moment of the magnet. The dependence of the levitation force on the height of the levitating magnet is similar to that in the symmetric magnet/superconducting sphere system within the range of proposed lateral displacements. It is found that the levitation force is linearly dependent on the lateral displacement whereas the lateral force is independent of this displacement. A sinusoidal variation of both forces as a function of the polar and azimuthal angles specifying the orientation of the magnetic moment is observed. The relationship between the stability and the orientation of the magnetic moment is discussed for different orientations.

The stability of the magnetic dipole and the metamaterial with negative permeability are investigated. Analytical expressions of the interaction force and stiffness of the magnetic line and metamaterial with negative permeability are derived. The repulsive force between the magnetic line and the metamaterial exceeds the value of the maximum force in the magnet-superconductor system.

Background： A novel extruded product was characterized with a metabolism and lactation trial to establish the product＇s energy content, and its effects on lactating sow performance. The product was composed of a 60：40 corn-soybean blend, which was then extruded. This product containing the co-extruded 60：40 corn-soybean blend was commercially developed and is used extensively in swine diets in southwest minnesota. GE of dietary treatments were determined by isoperibol bomb calorimetry. Twelve barrows （59.9 ± 1.4 kg）, were used to determine the digestible and metabolizable energy of the extruded product. DE of treatments was determined by subtracting fecal energy from GE provided to barrows by each respective treatment. mE was determined by subtracting urinary energy from calculated digestible energy. Sixty-three sows were used for the lactation trial. Three dietary treatments were utilized： CONTROL （an industry standard diet）; PRODUCT （contained the product, vitamins and minerals）; OIL （matched the lysine：mE ratio of PRODUCT by addition of soy oil）. Sow weight, backfat thickness at the right and left last ribs, body condition score, number of piglets, and litter weights were recorded on the date of farrowing （d 0）, （d 9）, and at weaning. Blood and milk samples were obtained at weaning, and blood was analyzed for plasma urea nitrogen （PUN）, milk was analyzed for total protein and fat content. Results： On a dry-matter basis, the test diet provided 3,908 kcal/kg DE and 3,833 kcal/kg mE, which was significantly greater than the basal diet, which provided 3,633 kcal/kg DE and 3,567 kcal/kg mE （P 〈 0.0001）. These data were used to establish the DE and mE of the product, which were 3,882 kcal/kg and 3,798 kcal/kg, respectively, on an as-fed basis. The efficiency of energetic ion confinement is reduced in a tokamak plasma by the non-axisymmetric field, namely the ripple field. The ripple field is produced by a finite number of toroidal field coils. It is affected by the non-axisymmetric finite beta effect. The three-dimensional mHD equilibrium calculation code VmEC is used to analyze the non-axisymmetric finite beta effect in a ripple tokamak. In the VmEC code, the flux coordinates are used, so the calculation region is limited to the area of plasma. To calculate the orbit outside the plasma, we develop a field calculation code, which is based on the Biot-Savart law. The details of the method and results are described in this paper.
