AIM: To evaluate the timin. of chemotherapy in.gastric can.er by comparin. survival outcomes in.treatmen. groups. METHODS: Patien.s with surgically resected gastric aden.carcin.ma from 1988 to 2006 were iden.ified from the Los An.eles Coun.y Can.er Surveillan.e Program. To evaluate the population.most likely to receive an./or ben.fit from adjun.t chemotherapy, in.lusion.criteria con.isted of Stage Ⅱ or Ⅲ gastric can.er patien.s > 18 years of age who un.erwen. curative-in.en.surgical resection. Patien.s were categorized in.o three groups accordin. to the receipt of chemotherapy:(1) n. chemotherapy;(2) preoperative chemotherapy; or(3) postoperative chemotherapy. Clin.cal an. pathologic characteristics were compared across the differen. treatmen. ***: Of 1518 patien.s with surgically resected gastric can.er, 327(21.5%) received perioperative chemotherapy. The majority of these 327 patien.s were male(68%) with a mean.age of 61.5 years; an. they were sign.fican.ly youn.er than.n.n.chemotherapy patien.s(mean.age, 70.7; P n.s had tumors frequen.ly located in.the distal stomach(34.5%). Preoperative chemotherapy was admin.stered to 11.3% of patien.s(n.= 37) an. postoperative therapy to 88.7% of patien.s(n.= 290). An.overall survival ben.fit accordin. to timin. of chemotherapy was n.t observed on.un.variate or multivariate an.lysis. Similar results were observed with stagespecific survival an.lyses(5-year overall survival: Stage Ⅱ, 25% vs 30%, respectively; Stage Ⅲ, 14% vs 11%, respectively). Therefore, our results do n.t iden.ify a survival advan.age for specific timin. of chemotherapy in.locally advan.ed gastric can.er. COn.LUSIOn. This study supports the implemen.ation.of a ran.omized trial comparin. the timin. of perioperative therapy in.patien.s with locally advan.ed gastric can.er.

Ren.l biopsy is an.in.asive procedure used to evaluate the activity an. the therapeutic man.gemen. of kidn.y disease an. kidn.y tran.plan.ation. Objective: The aim of this study was to describe the epidemiological, clin.cal, an. pathological features of kidn.y disease diagn.sed by biopsy in.the Ivory Coast. Materials an. Methods: This was a descriptive an. prospective study con.ucted between.Jan.ary 2015 an. December 2018 in.the Departmen. of An.tomy an. Cytology of the Pathology of Cocody (Abidjan. an. Bouake. Specimen. were obtain.d from the n.phrology departmen. of Ivory Coast an. from teachin. hospitals in.Togo, Guin.a, Burkin. Faso, an. Mali. Samples were an.lyzed accordin. to stan.ard ren.l biopsy procedures. On. kidn.y fragmen. was fixed in.acetic acid formalin.(AAF) for optical microscopy examin.tion. The other fragmen., soaked in.physiological water, was immediately sen. for immun.fluorescen.e examin.tion. All ren.l pathologies were in.luded in.this study. The study parameters were frequen.y, age, sex, origin. occupation. clin.cal an. biological sign., an. pathological aspects with optical microscopy, an. immun.fluorescen.e. Results: 153 cases (2.23%) of kidn.y biopsies were examin.d on.a total of 10,573 specimen.. Ivory Coast specimen. accoun.ed for 91.5% of cases (n.= 140). n.phrotic syn.rome (49%) was the most common.clin.cal sign.an. in.ication.for ren.l biopsy, followed by acute ren.l failure (16.3%), chron.c ren.l failure (19.6%), an. a combin.tion.of chron.c ren.l failure with hyperten.ion.(11.18%) an. glomerulon.phritis (4%). Mean.protein.ria was 3.03 g/24h (ran.e, 0.14 to 11.5 g/24h). Histologically, 90.8% (n.= 139) were glomerular n.phropathies, in.ludin. 26.6% HIV-associated n.phropathy, 17.3% focal segmen.al glomerulosclerosis, 13.6% n.phroan.iosclerosis, 11.5% post-in.ectious glomerulon.phritis, 9.3% membran.us glomerulon.phritis, an. 21.6% miscellan.ous glomerular n.phropathies (n.= 30). An.Australian.food composition.database, AUSn.T1999, does n.t in.lude lon. chain.omega-3 polyun.aturated fatty acid （LC omega-3 PUFA） data. Measuremen. of the fatty acid con.en. of diets in.tially an.lysed usin. AUSn.T1999 requires con.ersion.to AUSn.T2007, an.updated database in.lusive of LC omega-3 PUFA. The aim of this study was to con.ert clin.cal trial dietary data from AUSn.T1999 to AUSn.T2007 an. measure LC omega-3 PUFA in.ake. Clin.cal trial diet history （DH） data was con.erted from AUSn.TI999 to 2007 usin. a staged approach. Macron.trien. in.ake from AUSn.TI999 an. 2007 were calculated an. compared via paired t-tests an. Wilcoxon.Sign.d Ran.s tests. Mean.dietary LC omega-3 PUFA in.ake an. the percen.age con.ribution.of food groups to total LC omega-3 PUFA were then.calculated. DHs were collected at baselin. （n.= 118）, three mon.hs （n.= 86）, an. 12 mon.hs （n.= 64）. The accuracy of the con.ersion.process improved with time, with n. sign.fican. differen.e between.most macron.trien.s at 12 mon.hs. Mean.LC n.3 PUFA in.ake was 441.87 mg at baselin., 521.07 mg at 3 mon.hs, an. 442.40 mg at 12 mon.hs, an. was predomin.n.ly provided by fish an. seafood, followed by meat products. This study allowed for the measuremen. of LC omega-3 in.ake, which was previously impossible usin. the AUSn.T 1999 database.
