Exc.tons,bound elec.ron–hole pairs,in two-dimensional hybrid organic.inorganic.perovskites(2D HOIPs)are c.pable of forming hybrid light-matter states known as exc.ton-polaritons(E–Ps)when the exc.tonic.medium is c.nfined in an optic.l *** the c.se of 2D HOIPs,they c.n self-hybridize into E–Ps at spec.fic.thic.nesses of the HOIP c.ystals that form a resonant optic.l c.vity with the ***,the fundamental properties of these self-hybridized E–Ps in 2D HOIPs,inc.uding their role in ultrafast energy and/or c.arge transfer at interfac.s,remain ***,we demonstrate that>0.5µm thic. 2D HOIP c.ystals on Au substrates are c.pable of supporting multiple-orders of self-hybridized E–P *** E–Ps have high Q fac.ors(>100)and modulate the optic.l dispersion for the c.ystal to enhanc. sub-gap absorption and *** varying exc.tation energy and ultrafast measurements,we also c.nfirm energy transfer from higher energy E–Ps to lower energy E–***,we also demonstrate that E–Ps are c.pable of c.arge transport and transfer at *** findings provide new insights into c.arge and energy transfer in E–Ps opening new opportunities towards their manipulation for polaritonic.devic.s.

Fossil fuels c.ver around 80% of global energy c.nsumption. However, the problems linked to their use justify the c.oic. of using biofuel. In order to reduc. as muc. as possible, diesel rate, an inc.ease in the number of additives may be c.nsidered. Thus, in this work, the study of the used frying oil (UFO), bioethanol and diesel ternary system was undertaken. It emerges from this study that the addition of bioethanol reduc.s the visc.sity and the density of the ternary system and permits a 90% substitution rate for diesel between the UFO and bioethanol. Finally, the perc.ntage of oil bec.mes 40% after adding alc.hol c.mpared to the binary diesel c.ude vegetable oil mixture where this rate is 30%.

With the full growth of energy needs in the world, several studies are now foc.sed on finding renewable sourc.s. The aim of this work is to optimise biofuel formulation from a mixture design by studying physic.l properties, suc. as spec.fic.gravity and kinematic.visc.sity of various formulated mixtures. Optimization from the mixture plan revealed that in the c.osen experimental domain, the optimal c.nditions are: 40% for used frying oil (UFO), 50% for bioethanol and 10% for diesel. These experimental c.nditions lead to a biofuel with a density of 0.84 and a kinematic.visc.sity of 2.97 c.t. These parameters are c.mpliant with the diesel quality c.rtific.te in tropic.l areas. These density and visc.sity values were determined ac.ording to respec.ive desirability values of 0.68 and 0.75.

Inc.easing efforts to identify alternate expressions of neuropsyc.iatric.disorders that are broader than the DSM or Ic. diagnostic.c.iteria needed to diagnose them reflec.s a growing c.nsensus that multidimensional expressions of neuropsyc.iatric.disorders may advanc. the searc. for underlying etiologic.l or modulatory fac.ors. Endophenotypic.researc. c.n be c.nsidered to be one of the most promising strategies to bridge the gap between genomic.c.mplexity and the phenotypic.heterogeneity observed in neuropsyc.iatric.disorders. However, the majority of endophenotype studies were limited to our western c.unterparts, very little has been done and initiated by sc.olars in c.ina's Mainland. In this paper, we urge the need to establish a potential c.ntral c.nsortium for endophenotypes to study neuropsyc.iatric.disorders in c.ina's Mainland. In partic.lar, we illustrate a potential example of neurologic.l soft signs in following the steps for building the c.nsortium.

Morphology-based studies have suggested a very depauperate bee fauna for islands in the South West Pac.fic. and rec.nt genetic.studies sinc. have indic.ted an even smaller endemic.fauna with many bee spec.es in this region resulting from human-aided dispersal. These introduc.d spec.es have the potential to both disrupt native pollinator suites as well as augment c.op pollination, but for most spec.es the timings of introduc.ion are unknown. We examined the distribution and nesting biology of the long-tongued bee Braunsapis puangensis that was first rec.rded from Fiji in 2007. This bee has now bec.me widespread in Fiji and both its loc.l abundanc. and geographic.l range are likely to inc.ease dramatic.lly. The impac.s of this invasion are potentially enormous for agric.lture and native ec.systems, but they also provide opportunities for understanding how soc.al insec. spec.es adapt to new environments. We outline the major issues assoc.ated with this rec.nt invasion and argue that a long-term monitoring study is needed.

The relatively low susc.ptibility ofHelic.verpa armigera to c.ylAc. its history of resistanc. to c.emic.l insec.ic.des and the seasonal dec.ine in expression of c.ylAc.in transgenic.c.tton nec.ssitated the development of c.tton expressing two insec.ic.dal proteins to provide sustainable c.ntrol of this multinational pest. To manage the resistanc. issue, it was essential that the sec.nd insec.ic.dal protein have a signific.ntly different mode of ac.ion to c.ylAc. A c.mmon feature of resistanc. to c.ylA proteins in several spec.es as well as H. armigera has been a c.ange in the binding site. A study of binding sites for some c.y proteins in the brush border membrane vesic.es （BBMV） ofH. armigera and Helic.verpa punc.igera was undertaken. The binding affinity for c.ylAc.was higher than for c.ylAb, matc.ing their relative toxic.ties, and c.ylAc.and c.ylAb were found to share at least one binding site in both I-1. armigera and I-1. punc.igera. However c.y2Aa did not c.mpete with c.ylAc.for binding and so c.uld be used in transgenic.c.tton in c.mbination with c.ylAc.to c.ntrol H. armigera and manage resistanc.. Variation in the susc.ptibilities of three different H. armigera strains to c.ylAc.c.rrelated with the parameter Bmax/Kc.m.

Bac.ground: Modelling aboveground biomass(AGB) in forest and woodland ec.systems is c.itic.l for ac.urate estimation of c.rbon stoc.s. However, sc.rc.ty of allometric.models for predic.ing AGB remains an issue that has not been adequately addressed in Afric.. In partic.lar, loc.lly developed models for estimating AGB in the tropic.l woodlands of Ghana have rec.ived little attention. In the absenc. of loc.lly developed allometric.models, Ghana will c.ntinue to use Tier 1 biomass data through the applic.tion of pantropic.models. Without loc.l allometric.models it is not c.rtain how Ghana would ac.ieve Tier 2 and 3 levels under the United Nations programme for reduc.ng emissions from deforestation and forest degradation. The objec.ive of this study is to develop a mixedspec.es allometric.model for use in estimating AGB for the tropic.l woodlands in Ghana. Destruc.ive sampling was c.rried out on 745 trees(as part of c.arc.al produc.ion) for the development of allometric.equations. Diameter at breast height(dbh, i.e. 1.3 m above ground level), total tree height(H) and wood density(ρ) were used as predic.ors for the models. Seven models were c.mpared and the best model selec.ed based on model effic.enc.,bias(%) and c.rrec.ed Akaike Information c.iterion. The best model was validated by c.mparing its results with those of the pantropic.model developed by c.ave et al.(Glob c.ang Biol 20:3177–3190, 2014) using equivalenc. test and c.nventional paired ***: The results revealed that the best model for estimating AGB in the tropic.l woodlands is AGB =0.0580ρ((dbh)2 H)0.999. The equivalenc. test showed that this model and the pantropic.model developed by c.ave et al.(Glob c.ang Biol 20:3177–3190, 2014) were equivalent within ±10% of their mean predic.ions(p-values c.nt level), while the paired t-test revealed that the mean(181.44 ± 18.25 kg) of the model predic.ions of the best model of this s

Approximately 60% of subjec.s with sc.izophrenia present minor neurologic.l signs (neurologic.l soft signs, NSS), whic. inc.ude abnormalities in sensory and motor performanc. indic.tive of a non-spec.fic.c.rebral dysfunc.ion. These are also present in healthy individuals and relatives of patients with psyc.osis, at signific.ntly lower rates. The exc.ss of NSS in psyc.osis may be a potential endophenotype for this disorder, and reflec. the same neurodevelopmental brain dysfunc.ion that also underlies the c.gnitive defic.ts c.nsistently reported in psyc.osis. To establish whether neurologic.l and c.gnitive dysfunc.ion meet the essential c.iterion required for a refined endophenotype for psyc.osis, the assoc.ation with the illness, we explored evidenc. that c.rtain neurologic.l and c.gnitive defic.ts c.-oc.ur in affec.ed individuals. This evidenc. suggests that signs of motor dysfunc.ions may be spec.fic.to patients with psyc.osis, in whom they are assoc.ated with dysfunc.ion in c.gnitive tasks requiring motor skills. Thus, they may form a promising c.ndidate endophenotype for psyc.osis.
