We study.the acoustomagnetoelectric (AME) effect in two-dimensional graphene with an energy.bandgap using the semiclassical Boltzmann transport equation within the hy.ersound regime, (where represents the acoustic wavenumber and is the mean free path of the electron). The Boltzmann transport equation and other relevant equations were solved analy.ically.to obtain an expression for the AME current density. consisting of longitudinal and Hall components. Our numerical results indicate that both components of the AME current densities display.oscillatory.behaviour. Furthermore, geometric resonances and Weiss oscillations were each defined using the relationship between the current density.and Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) frequency.and the inverse of the applied magnetic field, respectively. Our results show that the AME current density.of bandgap graphene, which can be controlled to suit a particular electronic device application, is smaller than that of (gapless) graphene and is therefore, more suited for nanophotonic device applications.

This paper presents a new optimized decentralized controller design method for solving the tracking and disturbance rejection problems for large-scale linear time-invariant sy.tems, using only.low-order decentralized controllers. To illustrate the ty.e of results which can be obtained using the new optimized decentralized control design method, the control of a large flexible space structure is studied and compared with the standard centralized LQR-observer controller. The order of the resultant decentralized controller is much smaller than that of the standard centralized LQR-observer controller. The proposed controller also has certain fail-safe properties and, in addition, it can be five orders of magnitude more robust than the standard LQR-observer controller based on their real stability.radii. The new decentralized controller design method is applied to a large flexible space structure sy.tem with 5 inputs and 5 outputs and of order 24.

We present some exact integrability.cases of the extended Liénard equation y.′+ f(y.(y.)n +k(y.(y.)m + g(y.y.+ h(y. = 0, with n > 0 and m > 0 arbitrary.constants, while f(y., k(y., g(y., and h(y. are arbitrary.functions. The solutions are obtained by.transforming the equation Liénard equation to an equivalent first kind first order Abel ty.e equation given by.v/dy. f(y.v3-n+ k(y.v3-m+ g(y.v2+ h(y.v3, with v = 1/y..As a first step in our study.we obtain three integrability.cases of the extended quadratic-cubic Liénard equation,corresponding to n = 2 and m = 3, by.assuming that particular solutions of the associated Abel equation are known. Under this assumption the general solutions of the Abel and Liénard equations with coefficients satisfy.ng some differential conditions can be obtained in an exact closed form. With the use of the Chiellini integrability.condition, we show that if a particular solution of the Abel equation is known, the general solution of the extended quadratic cubic Liénard equation can be obtained by.quadratures. The Chiellini integrability.condition is extended to generalized Abel equations with g(y. ≡ 0 and h(y. ≡ 0, and arbitrary.n and m, thus allowing to obtain the general solution of the corresponding Liénard equation. The application of the generalized Chiellini condition to the case of the reduced Riccati equation is also considered.

Hong Kong has a high concentration of developments on hilly.terrain in close proximity.to man-made slopes and natural *** of the high seasonal rainfall,these man-made slopes and natural hillsides would pose a risk to the public as manifested by.a death toll of 470 people due to landslides since the late *** 1977,the Government of the Hong Kong SAR embarked on a sy.tematic programme,known as the Landslip Preventive Measure(LPM)Programme,to retroft substandard man-made *** 1977 to 2010,about 4500 substandard government man-made slopes have been upgraded through engineering *** the period,the Programme had evolved progressively.in response to Government’s internal demand for continuous improvement and rising public expectation for slope *** 2010,the Government implemented the Landslip Prevention and Mitigation(LPMit)Programme to dovetail with the LPM Programme,with the focus on retroftting the remaining moderate-risk substandard man-made slopes and mitigating sy.tematically.the natural terrain landslide risk pursuant to the"react-to-known"hazard *** paper presents the evolution of the LPM and LPMit Programmes as well as the insight on landslide prevention and mitigation through engineering works.

Reliable and basic information on fish are required for the sustainable management of a fishery. For this reason, the fish fauna of the future reservoir of Ouessa in the low section of the Mouhoun River, Burkina Faso is studied. In order to describe the fish community. the fish were sampled in March 2020 thanks to cast nets and gill nets. They.were sorted into species and each fish was weighted at the nearest 0.1 g and its total length measured at the nearest mm. The landings of commercial fishermen were also observed. In total, 1059 fishes were collected and grouped into 42 species, 27 generas and 16 families. The dominant species were Sy.odontis nigrita, Sy.odontis schall, Marcusenius senegalensis, Schilbe intermedius, Bry.inus nurse and Alestes baremoze. However, the compilation of diverse sources suggests the presence of nearly.70 species. The index of Shannon-Weaver (3.97), the values of the condition factor, the fish size and the presence of intolerant species indicate the relatively.good conditions of the aquatic ecosy.tem. Among the 24 dominant species, 54% have a positive allometric growth, 42% a negative allometric growth and 0.04 an isometric growth. This study.builds the basis of sustainable management of the future reservoir of Ouessa that is planned to be the largest one of the country.(40,000 ha large).

The study.of endophenoty.es may.be a viable strategy.to tackle the genetic complexity.and phenoty.ic heterogeneity.of psy.hosis, but this research direction is relatively.under-developed in China as compared to Western countries. We have recently.initiated one of the first family.studies of endophenoty.es for psy.hosis in China. Patients entering an established early.psy.hosis intervention service are recruited into this research project for phenoty.ing, endophenoty.ing and genoty.ing. At the endophenoty.ic level, four domains (neurological soft signs, neurocognition of prospective memory. social cognition of facial emotion recognition, and affective cognition of anticipatory.and consummatory.pleasure) are studied in the sample of patients with psy.hosis and their unaffected siblings. This article illustrates the benefit of a research-oriented clinical programme and its findings based on the data collected as of early.2011.
