A Historical Review of the Development of Women’s Higher Education in China (1908-2020): Stages, Explanations, and Trends

The development of women’s higher education in China can be divided into four stages:emergence(1908-1948);foundation(1949-1976);accelerating development(1977-2008);and the qualitative leap(2009-2020).This work considers the principal institutional mechanisms that contributed to this ***,flexibly planned parenthood gradually promoted gender equality and openness in society facilitated by systematic“awards,grants,and loans”initiatives to support women’s higher education ***,compulsory education ensured that left-out and migrant children had access to higher ***,effective connectivity across different education types bridged education gaps between those with different levels of ***,China made great efforts to invite and integrate international experiences that promoted the development of women’s higher *** beyond these achievements,we also discuss the future trends of women’s higher education in China.

Effects of chelating agents on the sol-gel synthesis of nano-zirconia:Comparison of the Pechini and sugar-based methods

This study focused on the comparison of the Pechini and sugar-based combustion synthesis methods to produce nano-zirconia. Zirconium hydroxide was utilized as metal precursor and citric acid, sucrose, and fructose were used as chelating agents, followed by calcination at 500, 600, and 700°C in air, respectively. Characterization was conducted by thermal analysis, specific surface area measurement, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy. When sucrose and citric acid were used as chelating agents during synthesis, mixtures of monoclinic and tetragonal phases were formed after calcination at 600 and 700°C. In the fructose samples, the tetragonal structure was the unique characterized phase. The tetragonal parameters in the fructose samples were determined using the diffraction data and the lattice parameter ratio was proven to increase with the temperature increase. Compared with the citrate and sucrose samples, the largest specific surface area(27 m2·g-1) and smallest particle size(39.1 nm) were obtained for the fructose sample after calcination at 700°C. The study revealed the formation of single-phase stabilized tetragonal zirconia using fructose as chelating agent after calcination at 500°C, and the presence and formation mechanism of stabilized tetragonal phase were also discussed on the basis of the X-ray and electron diffraction studies.

Dual effects of sodium sulfide on the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite:Ⅰ. Effect of pulp potential

This study explores the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite in the presence of different concentrations of sodium sulfide （Na2S·9H2O） at pH 12 under controlled potential conditions. It was observed that the flotation of chalcopyrite is not depressed completely when the pulp potential is low, even at high concentrations of sodium sulfide, i.e., 10-1-10-2 mol/L. However, a partial and controlled oxidation of pulp does enhance the effectiveness of sodium sulfide on the depression of chalcopyrite. Characterization of the chalcopyrite particle surface by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy allowed the identification of hydrophilic and hydrophobic surface species, which are responsible for the depression and flotation of chalcopyrite. Changes in pulp potential were found to be an effective float controlling parameter, by which Na2S can be used to initiate or depress the flotation behavior of chalcopyrite.

Study of Physical, Chemical and Morphological Alterations of Smectite Clay upon Activation and Functionalization via the Acid Treatment

The present study was carried out on the effect of acid leaching on the modification and structure alteration of montmorillonite. A nanostructured, activated material was prepared by selective leaching of pure smectite clay with different concentrations of sulfuric acid (1 - 10 N/L) at 85°C for 120 min using a solid/liquid ratio of 1:20 and a reflux system. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques were used for the characterization and study of the acid-treated montmorillonite clay. Chemical structure of specimens was distinguished by FTIR. The results showed that the formation of Si-OH bonds and leaching of Al3+ ions increased progressively with severity of the acid treatment. As the FTIR studies indicated, acid treatment led to the removal of the octahedral Al3+ cations and an increase in the Si-OH bonds. The morphological alteration of the untreated and treated montmorillonite was investigated by using TEM and SEM. X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis revealed a considerable decrease in the relative content of Al by increasing the acid strength. Moreover, the XRD results showed that the treatment using highly concentrated acid resulted in the formation of an amorphous silica phase.

Green synthesis of silver nanoneedles using shallot and apricot tree gum

A green synthesis method to produce silver nanoneedles was described using shallot and apricot tree gum（ATG）.A fast,simple,and low cost method was used to synthesize silver with nanoparticle and nanoneedle shape from the silver nitrate *** as a reducing agent and apricot tree gum（ATG） as a stabilizer and a capping agent were utilized to reduce and form silver ions into silver atoms with needle and particle ***,high crystalline structures of silver nanoparticles（AgNPs） with diameters of 8-20 nm and silver nanoneedles with average diameters of 50-60 nm and lengths of 5-10 μm were consequently synthesized by shallot and the mixture of shallot and ATG.A self-assembly mechanism was proposed to indicate the formation of needle-like structures of spherical Ag NPs via carbon chains of *** results indicate that the presence of ATG with shallot can transfer the reduced Ag NPs into the silver *** findings were characterized using X-ray diffraction（XRD）,ultra violet visible（UV-Vis） spectrometry,field emission scanning electron microscopy（FESEM）,and transmission electron microscopy（TEM） techniques.
