Communication is a significant part of being human and living in the *** kinds of languages and their variations are there;thus,one person can speak any language and cannot effectively communicate with one who speaks that language in a different *** application fields such as education,mobility,smart systems,security,and health care systems utilize the speech or voice recognition models ***,various studies are focused on the Arabic or Asian and English languages by ignoring other significant languages like Marathi that leads to the broader research motivations in regional *** is necessary to understand the speech recognition field,in which the major concentrated stages are feature extraction and *** paper emphasis developing a Speech Recognition model for the Marathi language by optimizing Recurrent Neural Network(RNN).Here,the preprocessing of the input signal is performed by smoothing and median *** preprocessing the feature extraction is carried out using MFCC and Spectral features to get precise features from the input Marathi Speech *** optimized RNN classifier is used for speech recognition after completing the feature extraction task,where the optimization of hidden neurons in RNN is performed by the Grasshopper Optimization Algorithm(GOA).Finally,the comparison with the conventional techniques has shown that the proposed model outperforms most competing models on a benchmark dataset.

Determination of the chromospheric quiet network element area index and its variation between 2008 and 2011

In general, it is believed that plages and sunspots are the main contribu- tors to solar irradiance. There are small-scale structures on the Sun with intermediate magnetic fields that could also contribute to solar irradiance, but it has not yet been quantified how many of these small scale structures contribute and how much this varies over the solar cycle. We used Ca II k images obtained from the telescope at the kodaikanal observatory. We report a method to separate the network elements from the background structure and plage regions, and compute the changes in the network element area index during the minimum phase of the solar cycle and part of the as- cending phase of cycle 24. The measured area occupied by the network elements is about 30% and the plages cover less than 1% of the solar disk during the observation period from February 2008 to 2011. During the extended period of minimum activity, it is observed that the network element area index decreases by about 7% compared to the area occupied by the network elements in 2008. A long term study of the network element area index is required to understand the variations over the solar cycle.

Sustainable Raw Materials in Hot Melt Adhesives: A Review

Hot-melt (HM) adhesives offer advantages over their contemporary water-based and solvent-based adhesives like low volatile organic compounds (VOCs), 100% solid, fast drying, setting etc. In recent years, to reduce their dependence on dwindling petroleum resources and due to the enormous use of HM adhesives in packaging areas that demand 100% recyclability, efforts have been devoted to making these formulations completely bio-based, sustainable and biodegradable. In this attempt, research and developments have been focused on using starch, modified starch, soy protein, polylactides, polyamides, lignin and vegetable oils as a partial/fully replacement to the petrochemical-based polymers. The huge amount of research going on in the field of bio-based polymers has still not reached its complete potential in the field of HM adhesives. In this review paper, HM adhesives based on sustainable raw materials namely starch, modified starch, polyamides, poly (lactic acid), soy protein and lignin are discussed.

Synthesis of Microcrystalline Cellulose—Polyvinyl Alcohol Stabilized Polyvinyl Acetate Emulsion

Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) colloid stabilized Polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) based wood adhesive has poor performance in highly humid conditions. Currently, the addition of natural fillers in the wood adhesive is one of the most effective ways to enhance the performance of PVAc wood adhesive in highly moist conditions. Microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) are strong renewable, bio-based material and has great potential in a reinforcement of the polymeric matrix. Hence, the present work investigates the applicability of microcrystalline cellulose incorporated 3% and 5% in situ emulsion polymerization PVAc wood adhesives. Effect on physical, thermal and mechanical properties was studied by viscosity, pH, contact angle measurement, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and pencil hardness test of films. Emulsions with different proportions of MCC were prepared and the shear strength of the applied adhesive on wood was measured. The viscosity of the adhesives was increased by increasing the concentration of MCC. The mechanical properties like tensile strength of adhesives with MCC were measured by universal tensile machine (UTM). Thermal stability was studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The tensile shear strength demonstrates that MCC can improve bonding strength as compared to PVAc Homo based adhesive in the wet condition which was validated through a contact angle study. The hardness of PVAc films were also changed positively by the addition of MCC. Here, we studied the effect of the addition of different concentrations of MCC materials in situ polymerization of PVAc on their performance properties.

On the line profile changes observed during the X2.2 class flare in the active region NOAA 11158

The solar active region NOAA 11158 produced a series of flares during its passage through the solar disk. The first major flare （of class X2.2） of the current solar cycle occurred in this active region on 2011 February 15 around 01：50 UT. We have analyzed the Dopplergrams and magnetograms obtained by the Helioseismic and Magnetic Imager （HMI） instrument onboard Solar Dynamics Observatory to examine the photospheric velocity and magnetic field changes associated with this flare. The HMI instrument provides high-quality Doppler and magnetic maps of the solar disk with 0.5＂ spatial scale at a cadence of 45 s along with imaging spectroscopy. We have identified five locations of velocity transients in the active region during the flare. These transient velocity signals are located in and around the flare ribbons as observed by Hinode in the Ca II H wavelength and the footpoints of hard X-ray enhancement are in the energy range 12-25 keV from RHESSI. The changes in shape and width of two circular polarization states have been observed at the time of transients in three out of five locations. Forward modeling of the line profiles shows that the change in atmospheric parameters such as magnetic field strength, Doppler velocity and source function could explain the observed changes in the line profiles with respect to the pre-flare condition.

Starch is an attractive polymer for wound healing applications because of its wide availability,low cost,biocompatibility,biodegradability and wound-healing ***,we have fabricated starch-based nanofibrous scaffolds by electrospinning for wound healing *** diameter of the optimized nanofibers was determined by field emission scanning electron microscopy(FE-SEM)and was found to be in the range of 110e300 *** mechanical strength(0.5e0.8 MPa)of the nanofibrous scaffolds was attuned using polyvinyl alcohol(plasticizer)and glutaraldehyde(crosslinking agent),to impart them with sufficient durability for skin tissue *** of negative interactions between the polymers was confirmed by Attenuated Total Reflectance-Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(ATR-FTIR),differential scanning microscopy(DSC)and thermal gravimetric analysis(TGA).Cellular assays with L929 mouse fibroblast cells indicated the ability of the scaffolds to promote cellular proliferation,without exhibiting any toxic effect to the ***,the nanofibrous scaffolds demonstrated potential for wound healing applications.

Adhesives for the Paper Packaging Industry: An Overview

Today, packaging plays a crucial role in maintaining the quality of products during uses by providing safeguarding against physical, chemical and environmental challenges. While polymer-based packaging material has been very extensively used, there has been a recent move to paper-based packaging products because of their economic and environmentally-friendly nature. Currently, Paper and paper-based board materials have been used as packaging material for food products, and e-commerce business. Adhesives in packaging industries are critical to the structure of most paper and paper board packaging, whether applied during the process of conversion and on the packaging line. From a production point of view, adhesive choice can significantly affect process line efficiency and production performance. Adhesive types used in paper industries are water-based adhesives both synthetic and bio-polymer based (starch, cellulose, protein and itaconic acid), Solvent-based adhesives (polyurethane and acrylic-based) and 100% solids adhesives like heat sealing adhesive and hot melts. More recently, water-based heat-expandable adhesive having thermally insulative and cushion-like properties has been provided for use in protective packages and wrap. Here, we aim to present an overview of the research trend of adhesives in the paper packaging industry. The overview summarizes the different adhesives for paper packaging industries.

Application of Thermally Expandable Microspheres in Adhesives: Review

Adhesives are used to bond various substrates such as metals, polymers, ceramics, rubber, wood and wood-based products. The use of adhesive as bonding agent rather than mechanical fasteners like nails results in the potential for reduced cost and weight of assemblies. However, adhesives are unprotected to a wide range of conditions, such as thermo-mechanical cycling in the environment, creep and fatigue imposed by structural joint configurations, and residual stress due to mismatch of thermal expansion between adhesives and objects. Thus, there will be a need for development of new chemistries and processes for easy repair and reprocessing of bonded structures are becoming of current great interest for the industries. In some cases, to improve the protection of various items/objects during handling and transportation, currently used protective products such as padded wraps, envelopes, packages and containers need to be modified. One technology which can solve the problem is the adhesives modified with thermally expandable particles (TEPs) which can be dismounted by heating the joint in a few seconds. The expandable composition is providing the necessary protective insulation and cushioning required in packages and containers. This paper reviews the application of unexpanded microspheres in the adhesive segment.

Diagnostic and therapeutic challenge of heart failure after liver transplant:Case series

Heart failure(HF) following liver transplant(LT) surgery is a distinct clinical entity with high mortality. It is known to occur in absence of obvious risk factors. No preoperative workup including electrocardiogram, echocardiography at rest and on stress, reasonably prognosticates the risk. In patients of chronic liver disease, cirrhotic cardiomyopathy, alcoholic cardiomyopathy, and stress induced cardiomyopathy have each been implicated as a cause for HF after LT. However distinguishing one etiology from another not only is difficult, several etiologies may possibly coexist in a given patient. Diagnostic dilemma is further compounded by the fact that presentation and management of HF irrespective of the possible underlying cause, remains the same. In this case series, 6 cases are presented and in the light of existing literature modification in the preoperative workup are suggested.

Contemporary role of multi-tract percutaneous nephrolithotomy in the treatment of complex renal calculi

Complex renal calculi remain to be a challenge for the treating urologist due to sheer bulk and the technicalities *** nephrolithotomy(PCNL)remains the treatment modality of choice in dealing with these large and complex *** limiting factor in their treatment continues to be the need for using additional tracts or the use of flexible nephroscopy for complete stone *** systematic review focuses on the need for multi-tract PCNL for complex renal *** literature review was performed using PubMed database using the keywords“multiple tract PCNL”or“multiperc”.We identified original articles published on the usage of multiple tracts for stone clearance in renal calculi between January 2000 to October 2018,and the search was restricted to available literature in English language *** studies with n>20 were included for the final *** analyzed the technical efficacy with respect to the number of tracts and stages that were required for stone clearance,outcomes and complications,especially,procedural bleeding and post-procedure infective complications of multiple-tract PCNL for large burden renal *** is found to be safe,feasible and effective for the management of large burden complex renal calculi with respect to stone clearance and morbidity associated with the *** is cost effective and complete stone clearance as a single procedure is higher in comparison to flexible ureteroscopy and shockwave lithotripsy.
