Verocytotoxin-producing Escherichia coli(VTEC) is recognized as an important food-borne pathogen,responsible for sporadic cases to serious outbreaks *** morbidity and mortality associated with several recent outbreaks due to VTEC have highlighted the threat of this organism poses to public *** its discovery in 1982,the organism has been the focus of extensive research on its epidemiology,pathogenesis,diagnosis,*** most important virulent attribute of the VTEC is Verotoxin, The organism may cause serious human complications like Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome and Haemorrhagic *** animals,especially cattle and sheep,are the main reservoirs and sources of *** meat and meat products,dairy products,have been recognized as main vehicles of spread of infection to *** have been many advances in rapid diagnosis of this infection using the current molecular biology,immunological and cytotoxic *** is the first study carried out in Syria to detect VTEC in the most popular animal’s products in the Syrian market(carcasses,hamburger,shawrma, milk,cheese ).Beside we detected the pathogen in the faeces of healthy sheep and cattle to know the role which they play as reservoir to *** collect 750 samples from slaughters,stores,fast food restaurants, faeces from healthy sheep and cattle,in Salamieh and governorate of Hama and *** samples subjected to classical bacteriology examination and isolation applied to isolate *** in general,and *** O157 in particular,all *** isolates then passed through Vero Cell Assay to detect the lethal effect of Vero Toxin on this cell line,and multiplex PCR to detect the Vero Toxin genes in the *** *** isolate 78 strains of VTEC from 750 *** prevalence of VTEC among the samples was 10.4%(VTEC Non-O157:7.9%,VTEC O157:2.5%).the Multiplex-PCR revealed that 35 strains posses vtl,17 strains posses vt2,26 posses the both genes.

金黄色葡萄球菌(Staphylococcus aureus)是导致奶牛乳房炎的主要病原菌,其在抗菌药物的作用下可形成小菌落突变株(small colony variants,SCVs)。为了探讨牛源性金黄色葡萄球菌在表型转变过程中的遗传基础,对临床分离的奶牛乳房炎金黄色葡萄球菌野生型及其SCV、人工诱导的SCV、临床SCV的表型回复株进行了相关特性及基因组序列的分析。结果发现:金黄色葡萄球菌的SCV和野生型差异显著,野生型菌株在庆大霉素及磺胺甲噁唑/甲氧苄啶(SXT)的诱导下绝大多数产生甲萘醌缺陷型SCV,仅有1株经SXT诱导产生的SCV为胸腺嘧啶核苷(胸苷)缺陷型。菌株基因与表型之间存在明显关联,与野生型基因组相比,临床SCV均显示喹啉/醌代谢相关基因menA的碱基缺失,可能导致蛋白表达提前终止。庆大霉素诱导的SCV在基因menB处出现碱基位点突变;SXT诱导的SCV在代谢相关基因MW1485和aroA处分别出现基因片段的缺失和插入。回复株可能通过在代谢相关基因menA二次突变来恢复功能。本研究首次利用全基因组测序技术分析牛源性金黄色葡萄球菌SCV表型改变的遗传基础,有助于对奶牛乳房炎金黄色葡萄球菌SCV产生更深入的理解。

Thyroid hormones play essential roles in spermatogenesis,but their effects on infertile males remain poorly *** study aimed to evaluate the impact of combining carbimazole(CBZ)with vitamin E(VE)on testicular injury induced by experimental hyperthyroidism in adult albino rats,focusing on oxidative,inflammatory,and apoptotic *** this experimental study,64 adult male albino Wistar rats were divided into eight groups:Group I(control-untreated),Group II(CBZ-control),Group III(VE-control),Group IV(CBZ+VE-control),Group V(levothyroxine-induced testicular injury),Group VI(levothyroxine+CBZ-treated),Group VII(levothyroxine+VE-treated),and Group VIII(levothyroxine+CBZ+VE-treated).The study was conducted in the Faculty of Medicine,Suez Canal University(Ismailia,Egypt).After cervical decapitation,both testes and epididymis were examined histopathologically and *** differences were observed among groups concerning malondialdehyde(MDA),glutathione(GSH),superoxide dismutase(SOD),and catalase(CAT;all P<0.001).Polymerase chain reaction analysis showed significant differences in tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),interleukin-10(IL-10),Bcl-2-associated X protein(BAX),B-cell lymphoma 2 protein(Bcl2),p53,Caspase-3,Caspase-8,Caspase-9,and nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)mRNA levels(all P<0.001).Hyperthyroid group treated with CBZ alone(Group VI)exhibited testicular side effects,affecting seminiferous tubules and ***,the Group VIII showed improved spermatogenesis and a decrease in testicular side *** addition of VE to the treatment of hyperthyroid rats with CBZ reduced testicular side effects and seminiferous tubular affection when potentially improving *** research is needed to elucidate the underlying mechanisms fully.

Magnesium-lithium hybrid ion batteries have emerged as a new class of energy storage systems owing to dendrite free cycling of magnesium anode and possibility of practice of numerous conventional lithium *** present work,we used hybrid ion strategy to analyze the performance of lithium titanate based lithium cathode,magnesium metal anode,and all-phenyl complex(APC)electrolytes at different temperatures(25℃,10℃,0℃,-10℃,and-20℃).The hybrid ion battery exhibited excellent rate performance(228 m Ah g^(-1)/20 m A g^(-1) and 163 mAh g^(-1)/1000 mA g^(-1))with stable voltage plateaus at 0.90 and 0.75 V,which corresponds to specific energy of 178 Wh kg^(-1) at room temperature(25℃).Experimental results revealed that APC-THF solutions have strong potential to suppress the freezing of electrolyte solutions owing to low boiling point of *** low temperature electrochemical testing revealed the reversible capacities of 213.4,165.5,143.8,133.2 and 78.56 mAh g^(-1) at 25,10,0,-10,and-20℃,***,ex-situ XRD,SEM,and EIS tests were carried out to understand the reaction kinetics of both Mg2+and Li+ions inside the lithium titanate *** hope this work will shed light on low temperature prospective of electrochemical devices for use in cold environments.

Efect of Thermal Annealing on the Physical Properties of Zn_(1-x)Cu_xSe Thin Films Deposited by Close Spaced Sublimation Technique

Thin films of Zn1-xCuxSe （x= 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, 0.15, 0.20） were grown on glass substrates by closed space sublimation technique. The deposited films were annealed at 200 ~C and 400 ~C in air for 1 h. The annealed samples have been investigated through Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy （RBS）, X-ray diffraction （XRD）, spectroscopic ellipsometer, spectrophotometer and Raman spectroscopy. Through RBS, the composition of the films was calculated and compared with the initial concentration. Structural characteriza- tion including crystal structure, crystal orientation, lattice parameter, grain size, strain and dislocation density were carried out using XRD data. From XRD spectra it was revealed that the as-deposited and annealed films were polycrystalline in nature with zinc-blende structure. However, the crystallinity and the grain size were improved with the increase of annealing temperature. According to Raman spectroscopy, it was observed that as deposited and annealed samples have the same characteristic vibrational modes of ZnSe at low and high frequency optical phonon modes while another mode was observed for 400 ℃ annealed samples at 745 cm-1. Spectroscopic ellipsometer has been used to found annealing effect on the optical properties of ZnSe. The band gap energy has been determined using transmission spectra. It was found that the band gap energy of the film increased with the increase of annealing temperature.
