This paper has the goal of presenting the main characteristics and challenges of the process of developing and disseminating solutions which aim to minimize the environmental impacts and improve the environmental performance of the CIPC(Construction Industry Productive Chain)in the mid-west region of *** the past eight years many applied research projects have shown that the bottleneck slowing or preventing the evolution of CIPC in Brazil is the lack of political will,be it at the municipality,state or federal level and a desintegrated *** political interests added to a lack of capacity for integrated and efficient management of available resources and programs implementation curtail the continued and integrated technological development and as consequence it has delayed the effective evolution towards sustainable technological *** no political will,the steps toward change are slow,inefficient and dispersed,as demonstrated by an analysis of the development,implementation and diffusion of four projects which focus on the sustainability of processes and products of the built environment.

In this manuscript,as a starting point,the ancient and current distribution of the genus Tapirus are summarized,from its origins,apparently in Europe,to current ***,original and current tapir habitats are de-scribed,as well as changes in ancient *** the manuscript goes on,we examine the ways in which tapir species interact with their habitats and the main aspects of habitat use,spatial ecology and *** reviewed the historic and current distribution of tapirs,as well as their use and selection of habitats,we intro-duce the concept of adaptability,considering that some of the tapir physiological characteristics and behavior-al strategies can reduce the negative impact of habitat alteration and climate ***,we provide rec-ommendations for future research *** conservation community is still missing important pieces of information for the effective conservation of tapirs and their remaining habitats in Central and South America and Southeast *** how tapir species reached their current distribution ranges,interpreting how they interact with their habitats and gathering information regarding the strategies they use to cope with habitat changes will increase our understanding about these animals and contribute to the development of conservation strategies.

Purpose To analyse the differences between 30°blue autofluorescence(BAF30),55°blue autofluorescence(BAF55)and 200°green Ultra-Wide Field autofluorescence(UWF200)imaging to detect retinal displacement(RD)after vitrectomy surgery for rhegmatogenous retinal detachment(RRD).Methods This cross-sectional study considers forty-nine consecutive patients who underwent RRD surgery in the time period 4–8 months previous to image *** exclusion criteria contemplate previous retinal pathology,under 18-year-olds and non-assessable images in any of the 3 *** images were analysed by two masked graders that assessed either the presence or absence of retinal displacement.A third observer reviewed the images that presented *** A total of forty-nine patients were analysed.7 eyes were excluded due to poor quality in either of the imaging *** final analysis included 42 eyes of forty-two patients with a mean age of 60.3±11.9 *** patients underwent a 3 port 23-gauge pars plana vitrectomy as the technique of *** grade of RD was detectable in 45.2% of *** was similar between BAF30 and UWF200(42.9% of eyes).BAF55 showed RD to a lesser extent(38.1%).Agreement index between BAF30 and BAF55 was 0.901,0.903 between BAF30 and UWF200 and 0.803 between BAF55 and *** agreement index between graders was 0.775 for BAF30,0.798 for BAF50 and 0.808 for UWF200 *** All imaging modalities were able to detect RD after vitrectomy for RRD,with no inferiority of BAF30 and BAF55 over UWF200.

Bioactive metabolite profiles and antimicrobial activity of ethanolic extracts from Muntingia calabura L. leaves and stems

Objective: To determine the bioactive phytochemicals and antimicrobial activity of leaf and stem ethanolic extracts from Muntingia calabura L.(M. calabura).Methods: Dried leaves and stems of M. calabura were extracted with 95% ethanol. The antibacterial and antifungal activities of the extracts were examined using the disc diffusion assay. The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC) of each extract showing antimicrobial activity was determined. The dried extracts were subjected to phytochemical screening to determine the presence of bioactive components. Total phenolic and flavonoid contents were also determined by the Folin–Ciocalteu method and the aluminum chloride method, ***: Varying degrees of antimicrobial activity were exhibited by the leaf and stem extracts against Pseudomonas aeruginosa(P. aeruginosa), Salmonella typhimurium,Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus), Bacillus subtilis, and Candida albicans(C. albicans),with minimal activity against Escherichia coli. Based on the MIC, the extracts showed the highest activity against C. albicans, S. aureus and P. aeruginosa. Phytochemical screening revealed the presence of sterols, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, glycosides and tannins in the leaf extract; however, no triterpenes were detected. In the stem extract,triterpenes were detected along with relative amounts of flavonoids, saponins, glycosides and tannins. Alkaloids and sterols were absent in the stem ***: M. calabura leaf and stem ethanol extracts are potential sources of antibacterial agents against P. aeruginosa and S. aureus. This study reports for the first time the high degree of antifungal activity of M. calabura ethanolic extract, especially against C. albicans.
