Squamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas has been sparsely described since the 1940s,and generally has a poor ***,we present a case of primary squamous cell carcinoma of the pancreas with liver metastasis,both confirmed by endoscopic ultrasoundguided fine needle aspiration(EUS-FNA).To the best of our knowledge,this is the first case report in literature utilizing EUS-FNA for a cell-type specific diagnosis of primary pancreatic squamous cell carcinoma with a liver metastasis.

in 2005, a 550-acre tract of agricultural land containing two small streams near La Grande, Oregon was registered in the U.S. Federal Wetlands Reserve Program. This designation was part of a plan to reclaim and restore the wetland to its natural state. initial efforts at the End Creek Restoration Project restored both End Creek and South Fork Willow Creek to a natural course through rechanneling, and several plantings had restored some of the native flora. Since its establishment, the End Creek streams and floodplain have become a reserve for summer steelhead (Oncorhynchus mykiss), a threatened anadromous salmonid, and many migratory birds. The threatened Columbia Spotted Frog has also established itself in some of the ponds. As part of an effort to establish a baseline for water quality, we monitored total springtime coliform and fecal coliform bacteria in three of the End Creek ponds for three years. The results of this study indicate that, throughout any given spring, the numbers of both coliform and fecal coliform bacteria can fluctuate markedly among ponds on any given day, and that in any particular pond the numbers fluctuate from week to week. in addition, our analysis suggests that in early spring, the numbers of these organisms also fluctuate from year to year. The causes of these fluctuations are not well understood, but are expected to reflect both springtime flooding and the migrations of source animals such as waterfowl and cervids. information gathered from this study will help inform future management activities on the wetland.

Numerous types of biological branching networks,with varying shapes and sizes,are used to acquire and distribute ***,we show that plant root and shoot architectures share a fundamental design *** studied the spatial density function of plant architectures,which specifies the probability of finding a branch at each location in the 3-dimensional volume occupied by the *** analyzed 1645 root architectures from four species and discovered that the spatial density functions of all architectures are *** means that despite their apparent visual diversity,all of the roots studied share the same basic shape,aside from stretching and compression along orthogonal ***,the spatial density of all architectures can be described as variations on a single underlying function:a Gaussian density truncated at a boundary of roughly three standard ***,the root density of any architecture requires only four parameters to specify:the total mass of the architecture and the standard deviations of the Gaussian in the threeðx,y,zÞgrowth *** shoot architectures also follow this design form,suggesting that two basic plant transport systems may use similar growth strategies.

Background Abdominal pain is a debilitating symptom affecting-80%of pancreatic cancer(PC)*** duct(PD)decompression has been reported to alleviate this pain,although this practice has not been widely *** aimed to evaluate the role,efficacy,and safety of endoscopic PD decompression for palliation of PC post-prandial obstructive-type *** A systematic review until 7 October 2020 was *** independent reviewers selected studies,extracted data,and assessed the methodological *** We identified 12 publications with a total of 192 patients with PC presenting with abdominal pain,in whom PD decompression was attempted,and was successful in 167 patients(mean age 62.5 years,58.7%males).The use of plastic stents was reported in 159 patients(95.2%).All included studies reported partial or complete improvement in pain levels after PD stenting,with an improvement rate of 93%(95%confidence interval,79%-100%).The mean duration of pain improvement was 94616 *** retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)-related adverse events(AEs)were postsphincterotomy bleeding(1.8%),post-ERCP pancreatitis(0.6%),and hemosuccus pancreaticus(0.6%).AEs were not reported in two patients who underwent endoscopic ultrasound-guided PD *** the 167 patients with technical success,the stent-migration and stent-occlusion rates were 3.6%and 3.0%,*** AE-related mortality was *** methodological quality assessment showed the majority of the studies having low or unclear *** in this exploratory analysis,endoscopic PD drainage may be an effective and safe option in selected patients for the management of obstructive-type PC ***,a randomized–controlled trial is needed to delineate the role of this invasive practice.

Background:Crowdsourcing is used increasingly in health and medical *** is the process of aggregating crowd wisdom to solve a *** purpose of this systematic review is to summarize quantitative evidence on crowdsourcing to improve ***:We followed Cochrane systematic review guidance and systematically searched seven databases up to September 4th *** were included if they reported on crowdsourcing and related to health or *** were excluded if recruitment was the only use of *** determined the level of evidence associated with review findings using the GRADE ***:We screened 3508 citations,accessed 362 articles,and included 188 ***-six studies examined effectiveness,127 examined feasibility,and 37 examined *** most common purposes were to evaluate surgical skills(17 studies),to create sexual health messages(seven studies),and to provide layperson cardiopulmonary resuscitation(CPR)out-of-hospital(six studies).Seventeen observational studies used crowdsourcing to evaluate surgical skills,finding that crowdsourcing evaluation was as effective as expert evaluation(low quality).Four studies used a challenge contest to solicit human immunodeficiency virus(HiV)testing promotion materials and increase HiV testing rates(moderate quality),and two of the four studies found this approach saved *** studies suggested that an interactive technology system increased rates of layperson initiated CPR out-ofhospital(moderate quality).However,studies analyzing crowdsourcing to evaluate surgical skills and laypersoninitiated CPR were only from high-income *** studies examined crowdsourcing to inform artificial intelligence projects,most often related to annotation of medical *** was evaluated using different outcomes,limiting the extent to which studies could be ***:Crowdsourcing has been used to improve health in many *** crowds
