Effect of Helicobacter pylori-eradication therapy on hepatic steatosis in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease:a randomized–controlled pilot study

Background:Helicobacter pylori infection has been associated with insulin resistance and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD).This study was done to evaluate the effect of ***-eradication therapy(HPET)in patients with NAFLD compared to standard management therapy(SMT).Methods:Eighty NAFLD patients with *** co-infection were randomized into SMT(diet and exercise,n=36)and HPET(SMT plus amoxicillin,clarithromycin,and pantoprazole,n=44)*** controlled attenuation parameter(CAP),anthropometric parameters,liver enzymes,lipid profile,and glycemic parameters including homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance(HOMA-IR)were measured and compared between two groups at the baseline and 24 ***:Sixty-four participants(SMT group[n=28]and HPET group[n=36])were included in amodified intention-to-treat *** the SMT group and the HPET group had a significant reduction in CAP scores at 24weeks(P=0.002 and P<0.001,respectively),but the change between the groups was insignificant(P=0.213).Successful eradication of *** occurred in 68%of the HPET group and led to greater improvement in HOMA-IR at 24weeks compared to SMT or non-responder patients(P=0.007).The liver enzymes reduced significantly at 24weeks in both groups,but the changes between the groups were *** lipid parameters remained unchanged within the groups and between the groups at 24weeks.A significant increase in the levels of reduced glutathione was noted in the HPET group,but the change between the two groups was not statistically ***:HPET was found to be comparable to SMT alone in reducing hepatic steatosis and liver enzymes at 24 weeks in NAFLD ***,successful eradication of *** led to greater improvement in HOMA-IR(Trial registration CTRI/2017/05/008608).

Prospective use of bacteriocinogenic Pediococcus pentosaceus as direct-fed microbial having methane reducing potential

Direct-fed microbials（DFM）, generally regarded as safe status, are successfully used in improving rumen ecology, gastro-intestinal health, feed efficiency, milk production and growth rate in ruminants. On the other hand, methanogenesis in rumen, which accounts for a significant loss of ruminant energy and increased greenhouse gas in environment, is of great concern, therefore, use of DFM for improving productivity without compromising the animal health and ecological sustainability is encouraged. The present study was conducted to investigate the methane reducing potential of bacteriocinogenic strain Pediococcus pentosaceus-34. Since, the culture showed no hemolysis on blood agar and DNase activity, hence, it was considered to be avirulent in nature, a prerequisite for any DFM. The culture also showed tolerance to pH 5.0 for 24 h with 0.5% organic acid mixture, whereas when given a shock for 2 h at different p H and organic acids concentrations, it showed growth at pH 3.0 and 4.0 with 0.1 and 1.0% organic acids, respectively, as having good animal probiotics attributes. The total gas production was significantly（P〈0.05） higher in live pedicoccal culture（LPC） and dead pedicoccal culture（DPC） both with wheat straw, when compared to the control. In sugarcane bagasse, gas production was significantly lower（P〈0.05） with LPC compared to the control and DPC both. Methane was reduced by the inclusion of LPC in sugarcane bagasse（0.07 mL CH4 mg–1 dry matter digestibility） with no effect on other rumen fermentation parameters. However, with wheat straw and LPC total gas, in vitro dry matter digestibility, total volatile fatty acids increased significantly but no reduction in methane production was observed in comparison to the control. Therefore, further research is warranted in this direction, if the bacteriocinogenic strains can be used as DFM for ruminants to improve the ruminant productivity.

The major environmental hazard in this pandemic is the unhygienic dis-posal of medical *** wastage is not properly managed it will become a hazard to the environment and *** medical wastage is a major issue in the city,municipalities in the aspects of the environment,and *** efﬁcient supply chain with edge computing technology is used in managing medical *** supply chain operations include processing of waste collec-tion,transportation,and disposal of *** research works have been applied to improve the management of *** main issues in the existing techniques are ineffective and expensive and centralized edge computing which leads to failure in providing security,trustworthiness,and *** over-come these issues,in this paper we implement an efﬁcient Naive Bayes classiﬁer algorithm and Q-Learning algorithm in decentralized edge computing technology with a binary bat optimization algorithm(NBQ-BBOA).This proposed work is used to track,detect,and manage medical *** minimize the transferring cost of medical wastage from various nodes,the Q-Learning algorithm is *** accuracy obtained for the Naïve Bayes algorithm is 88%,the Q-Learning algo-rithm is 82%and NBQ-BBOA is 98%.The error rate of Root Mean Square Error(RMSE)and Mean Error(MAE)for the proposed work NBQ-BBOA are 0.012 and 0.045.

Analysis and Predictions of Spread, Recovery, and Death Caused by COVID-19 in India

The novel coronavirus outbreak was first reported in late December 2019 and more than 7 million people were infected with this disease and over 0.40 million worldwide lost their lives. The first case was diagnosed on30 January 2020 in India and the figure crossed 0.24 million as of 6 June 2020. This paper presents a detailed study of recently developed forecasting models and predicts the number of confirmed, recovered, and death cases in India caused by COVID-19. The correlation coefficients and multiple linear regression applied for prediction and autocorrelation and autoregression have been used to improve the accuracy. The predicted number of cases shows a good agreement with 0.9992 R-squared score to the actual values. The finding suggests that lockdown and social distancing are two important factors that can help to suppress the increasing spread rate of COVID-19.

A magnitude M;7.8 earthquake occurred on 25 April 2015(referred as Gorkha earthquake).We have analyzed the spatial variation of b-value and two-dimensional strain within Nepal Himalaya before and after the Gorkha *** have used continuous Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)data from 30 stations in the Nepal region for geodetic strain estimation and earthquake data for b-value *** GNSS data were processed using double differencing technique for the accurate position of each *** precise velocity vectors show a general azimuth of north east for all the stations and have been used to derive two-dimensional *** epicenters of Gorkha(25 April 2015)and Dolakha earthquakes(12 May 2015),we observed high co-seismic horizontal displacements(0.2 m to 2 m).In the Pre-seismic deformation study,maximum strain accumulation(56.40×10;)and low bvalue(0.79-0.89)was observed in and around the Western Nepal region,which may be responsible for the 2015 Gorkha *** potential seismic zones were identified by GIS based integration of geodetic strain and b-value map and superimposition using weighted overlay *** Maximum strain and low b-value are now observed in the eastern part of ***,the spatial disposition of elastic energy has changed after the two major earthquakes and continuous seismic hazard assessment is required in the eastern Nepal.

Distinct Role of Core Promoter Architecture in Regulation of Light-Mediated Responses in Plant Genes

In the present study, we selected four distinct classes of light-regulated promoters. The light-regulated promoters can be distinctly grouped into either TATA-box-containing or TATA-less （initiator-containing） promoters. Further, using either native promoters or their swapped versions of core promoter elements, we established that TATA-box and Inr （Initiator） elements have distinct mechanisms which are involved in light-mediated regulation, and these elements are not swappable. We identified that mutations in either functional TATA-box or Inr elements lead to the formation of nucleosomal structure. The nucleotide diversity in either the TATA-box or Inr element in Arabidopsis ecotypes proposes that the nucleotide variation in core promoters can alter the gene expression. We show that motif overrepresentation in light-activated promoters encompasses different specific regulatory motifs present downstream of TSS （transcription start site）, and this might serve as a key factor in regulating light promoters which are parallel with these elements. Finally, we conclude that the TATA-box or Inr element does not act in isolation, but our results clearly suggests the probable involvement of other distinct core promoter elements in concurrence with the TATA-box or Inr element to impart selectivity to light-mediated transcription.

It is globally accepted that soil carbon （C） dynamics are at the core of interlinked environmental problems, deteriorating soil quality and changing climate. Its management remains a complex enigma for the scientific community due to its intricate relationship with soil nitrogen （N） availability and moisture-temperature interactions. This article reviews the management aspects of soil C dynamics in light of recent advances, particularly in relation to the availability of inorganic N pools and associated microbial processes under changing climate. Globally, drastic alterations in soil C dynamics under changing land use and management practices have been primarily attributed to the variation in soil N availability, resulting in a higher decomposition rate and a considerable decline in soil organic C （SOC） levels due to increased soil CO2 emissions, degraded soil quality, and increased atmospheric CO2 concentrations, leading to climate warming. Predicted climate warming is proposed to enhance SOC decomposition, which may further increase soil N availability, leading to higher soil CO2 effiux. However, a literature survey revealed that soil may also act as a potential C sink, if we could manage soil inorganic N pools and link microbial processes properly. Studies also indicated that the relative, rather than the absolute, availability of inorganic N pools might be of key importance under changing climate, as these N pools are variably affected by moisture-temperature interactions, and they have variable impacts on SOC turnover. Therefore, multi-factorial studies are required to understand how the relative availability of inorganic N pools and associated microbial processes may determine SOC dynamics for improved soil C management.

Hematological, antioxidant and protective performance of Usnea longissima on chemical induced hepatotoxicity in experimental animals

Objective: To investigated the hematological, antioxidant and protective performance of Usnea longissima (U. longissima) on CCl4 induced hepatotoxicity in experimental animals. Methods: Hepatotoxicity was induced by CCl4 (1 mL/kg body weigt 1:1 CCl4 i.p.), ethanolic U. longissima extracts at a doses (200 and 400 mg/kg body weigt) were administered to and compared with Silymarin (25 mg/kg body weigt) and hematological, antioxidant and enzymatic, non-enzymatic parameters were assessed through the liver functions test. All the observation was also supplemented with histopathological examination of liver sections. Results: Phytochemical investigation showed that ethanolic extract contains poly phenolic compounds tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids and saponins and acute toxicity study shows that ethanolic extract was safe up to 2000 mg/kg body weight. The toxicant induced a rise in the plasma enzyme levels of ALT, AST, ALP and total bilirubin level. This increased level was significantly decreased by the extract at 400 mg/kg body weight than 200 mg/kg body weight. The animals were prevented (partly or fully) which was showed in the histopathological changes using ethonolic U. longissima extract. Conclusions: The outcome of this study reveals that, there is a powerful antioxidant and hepatoprotective activity of U. longissima. It is believed that the present constituents are responsible for courting the hepatic disease and alternative components have the power to act as free radical scavenging properties.

A HWRF-POM-TC coupled model forecast performance over North Indian Ocean: VSCS TITLI & VSCS LUBAN

The HWRF-POM-TC coupled model is run operationally at India Meteorological Department(IMD).This study is first attempt to assess the IMD’s operational HWRF-POM-TC(Atmosphere-Ocean)coupled model forecast performance over North Indian Ocean(NIO).The two cyclonic storms one each in Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal were *** them,VSCS LUBAN formed over Arabian Sea(AS)and was followed by the formation of VSCS TITLI over Bay of Bengal(Bo B).It constituted a rare case whereby two VSCS have formed in the north Indian Ocean(NIO)*** HWRF-POM-TC modeling system,which was developed at National Centers for Environmental Prediction(NCEP)based on Nonhydrostatic Mesoscale Model(NMM)dynamic core,was customized for NIO *** the two storms,VSCS LUBAN&VSCS TITLI,28 and 15 consecutive 6-hourly HWRF model runs were *** HWRF-POM-TC coupled model showed great skill in forecasting of Track and Intensity for examined *** result shows that the model predicted the intensification and landfall of VSCS Luban&Titli in agreement with the best track data as made available by Cyclone Warning Division(CWD),India Meteorological Department which is also recognized as Regional Specialized Meteorological Center(RSMC)by WMO for NIO.
