High-speed micromilling （spindle speeds 100 000r/min） can create complex three-dimensional microfeaturesin difficult-to-machine materials. The micromachined sur-face must be of high quatity, to meet functional require-ments. However, chatter-induced dynamic instabilitydeteriorates the surface quality and can be detrimental totool life. Chatter-free machining can be accomplished byidentifying stable process parameters via stability lobe dia-gram. To generate accurate stability lobe diagram, it isessential to determine the microend mill dynamics. Fre-quency response function is required to determine the tool-tip dynamics obtained by experimental impact *** that application of impact load at the microend mill tip（typically 100 - 500 μm） is not feasible as it would invari-ably end with tool failure. Consequently, alternative meth-ods need to be developed to identify the microend milldynamics. In the present work, the frequency responsefunction for the microend mill is obtained by finite elementmethod modal analysis. The frequency response functionobtained from modal analysis has been verified from theexperimentally obtained frequency response function. Theexperimental frequency response function was obtained byimpacting the microend mill near the taper portion with animpact hammer and measuring the vibration of the tool-tipwith a laser displacement sensor. The fundamental fre-quency obtained from finite element method modal analysisshows a difference of 6.6% from the experimental funda-mental frequency. Microend mill dynamics obtained fromthe finite element method is used for chatter prediction inhigh-speed micromilling operations. The stability lobe dia-gram predicts the stability boundary accurately at 60 000r/min and 80 000 r/min; however, a slight deviation isobserved at 100 000 r/min.

Engineered features on pyrolytic carbon （PyC） have been reported to improve the functional performance of the bio-implants. This paper is focused on the functional characterization of micro-features created on the surface of PyC. Two different types of micro-features （wide channels and arrayed holes） have been created by micro-electrical discharge machining （micro-EDM）. Two other micro-fea- tures （fine channels and micro-pillars） have been created by micromilling process. Coliform bacterial strain was iso- lated from a sample of water and grown on all four tex- tured. Cell growth was carried out on an unmachined surface to see the behavior of the isolated bacterial strain on the textured/non-textured surfaces. The samples were examined under SEM before and after wash to see cell growth and cell adhesion capability of the textures. The wide channels by micro-EDM show the maximum cell growth but poor cell adhesion. 184% higher cell growth has been observed on the wide channels in comparison with unmachined surface. The fine channels by micro-milling show comparatively lower growth but the cell adhesion on this surface was found excellent. 71% cells remain unwa- shed after washing of the surface having fine channel textures. It means that the channels structure shows the maximum cell growth and adhesion independent of machining process.

A facile and fast approach for the synthesis of a nanostructured nickel hydroxide(Ni（OH）;) via sonochemical technique is reported in the present study. The X-ray diffraction results confirmed that the synthesized Ni（OH）;was oriented in β-phase of hexagonal brucite structure. The nanostructured Ni（OH）;electrode exhibited the maximum specific capacitance of 1256 F/g at a current density of 200 mA/g in 1 M KOH;. Ni（OH）;electrodes exhibited the pseudocapacitive behavior due to the presence of redox reaction. It also exhibited long-term cyclic stability of 85% after 2000 cycles, suggesting that the nanostructured Ni（OH）;electrode will play a promising role for high performance supercapacitor application.

Shoreline extraction is fundamental and inevitable for several *** the precise spatial location of the shoreline is ***,the need for using remote sensing data to accomplish the complex task of automatic extraction of features,such as shoreline,has considerably *** feature extraction can drastically minimize the time and cost of data acquisition and database *** and fast approaches are essential to monitor coastline retreat and update shoreline ***,we present a flexible mathematical morphology-driven approach for shoreline extraction algorithm from satellite *** salient features of this work are the preservation of actual size and shape of the shorelines,run-time structuring element definition,semi-automation,faster processing,and single band *** proposed approach is tested with various sensor-driven images with low to high *** of the developed methodology has been assessed with manually prepared ground truths of the study area and compared with an existing shoreline classification *** proposed approach is found successful in shoreline extraction from the wide variety of satellite images based on the results drawn from visual and quantitative assessments.

This study aims to investigate the behavior of alkali activated mortar,which is made of naturally available magnesium silicate as source *** magnesium silicate,ultrafine natural steatite powder(UFNSP)is used as the primary source of binder,and the activation is initiated through the alkali liquid which is proportioned in various combinations of silicate to hydroxide ratio(Na_(2)SiO_(3)/Na OH)ratio,and this ratio in this study varies from 1 to *** UFNSP is calcined at two difierent temperatures,700 and 1000℃.The mortar mix is proportioned as 1:3 between powder and the fine aggregate,and the mortar is prepared with hydroxide molarity(M)of 10 *** mortar is cured for 48 hours at 60℃and the compressive strength was *** the mix were studied for its microstructural behavior along with compressive *** mix proportion of the mortar,and the results obtained through microstructural characterization were combinedly formed as input for artificial neural network(ANN)predictive *** model is designed to predict the compressive strength,which is trained through Bayesian regularization algorithm with varying hidden neurons of 7 to *** experimental and predictive study shows that the strength is influenced by both Na_(2)SiO_(3)/Na OH ratio and calcination *** the ANN is influenced by mainly calcination temperature and uncorrelation occurs in selected samples of 1000℃calcined UFNSP mix.

BACKGROUND Post-operative enteral nutrition via gastric or jejunal feeding tubes is a common and standard practice in managing the critically ill or post-surgical *** has its own set of complications,including obstruction,abscess formation,necrosis,and *** present here a case of small bowel obstruction caused by enteral nutrition *** is the second recorded incidence of this complication after pancreaticoduodenectomy in the medical *** SUMMARY The 70-year-old female presented to our institution for a pancreaticoduodenectomy(Whipple’s procedure)for pancreatic *** day 5 post-operative,having failed to progress and developing symptoms of small bowel obstruction,she underwent a computed tomography scan,which showed features of mechanical small bowel *** this,she underwent an emergency laparotomy and small bowel *** recovery was long and protracted but,ultimately,she was discharged home.A literature search of reports from 1966-2020 was conducted in the MEDLINE *** identified eight articles describing a total of 14 cases of small bowel obstruction secondary to enteral feed *** those 14 cases,all but 4 occurred after upper gastrointestinal surgery;all but 1 case required further surgical intervention for deteriorating clinical *** postulated causes for this include pH changes,a reduction in pancreatic enzymes and gastric motility,and the use of opioid *** Enteral feed bezoar is a complication of enteral *** rare incidence,it can cause significant morbidity and potential mortality.
