The investigation was done to evaluate the effect of moisture content on some physical properties of Lagenaria siceraria *** study was conducted at five moisture levels including 8.84%,10.10%,11.89%,12.60%and 15.10%(w.b.).Results showed that the mean value of principal dimensions,average diameters,surface area and 1000 seed mass increased linearly but aspect ratio decreased with increase in moisture *** sphericity increased in the moisture range of 8.84%to 11.89%but decreased with further raise in the moisture up to 15.10%.Gravimetric properties like bulk density increased with increase in moisture content however true density and porosity decreased linearly with increase in moisture *** of repose and terminal velocity increased linearly with moisture content of the *** coefficient of friction increased linearly with seed moisture content on five experimental surfaces(plywood,galvanized iron,glass and plastic).The information pertaining to moisture dependant physical properties of Lagenaria siceraria seeds may become an essential part in design of processing machines and its unit operations,design of dehulling,oil expression and other processing equipments.

Differences in Tree Species Diversity and Soil Nutrient Status in a Tropical Sacred Forest Ecosystem on Niyamgiri Hill Range,Eastern Ghats,India

We have quantitatively analyzed the tree species diversity with respect to soil nutrient status in three sites of a sacred forest ecosystem of Niyamgiri hill range, Eastern Ghats, India. Extensive field surveys and sampling were conducted in 3 sites of the hill range： Site 1 Pterocarpus dominated forest （PTF）（19°40＇02.2＇＇ N and 83°21＇23.1＇＇ E）, Site 2 Mangifera dominated forest （MAF）（19°40＇02.8＇＇ N and 83°21＇40.8＇＇ E） and Site 3 Mixed forest （MIF）（19°36＇47.1＂ N and 83°21＇02.7＇＇ E）. A total of 28 families, 42 genera, 46 tree species, and 286 individual trees were recorded on an area of0.6 ha. Tree density varied between 470 and 49o individuals ha and average basal area between 3.16 and l0.04 m2 ha-1. Shannon Index （H＇） ranged from 2.34 to 4.53, Simpson＇s Index ranged from 0.07 to o.09, and equitability Index ranged from 0.7 to 1.34. The number of individuals was highest in the girth at breast height （GBH） class of 50-7o cm. The soil nutrient status of the three forest types was related to tree species diversity. The soil pH value of the three sites reflected the slightly acidic nature of the area. Species diversity was positively correlated with organic carbon and phosphorus and negatively with nitrogen, EC and pH. The results of the current study may be helpful to further develop a conservation planfor tree species in tropical sacred forest ecosystems.

Fourth order differential equations are considered to develop the class of methods for the numerical solution of boundary value problems. In this paper, we have discussed the regions of absolute stability of fourth order boundary value problems. Methods proposed and derived in this paper are applied to solve a fourth-order boundary value problem. Numerical results are given to illustrate the efficiency of our methods and compared with exact solution.

In this communication we have used Bickley’s method for the construction of a sixth order spline function and apply it to solve the linear fifth order differential equations of the form yx(x)+g (x)y(x)= r(x) where g(x) and r(x) are given functions with the two different problems of different boundary conditions. The method is illustrated by applying it to solve some problems to demonstrate the application of the methods discussed.

Objective:Platelet-rich plasma(PRP)releases growth factors upon activation,which in turn accelerates healing and regeneration of the target ***,PRP composition may vary according to the patient’s demographics,and wider applications of PRP warrant product *** current study aimed to examine variables influencing the platelet-derived growth factor BB(PDGF-BB)concentration in ***:This observational study was conducted in the Department of Pathology and Dentistry at Swami rama Himalayan University,a tertiary care hospital in northern India from December 2016 to November *** was prepared from 40mL of whole blood from 35 individuals(22 women,13 men).Platelet counts,platelet indices(platelet distribution width,mean platelet volume)and PDGF-BB levels were measured,and platelet yield,platelet dose,and growth factor dose in PRP were also *** parameters were analyzed using Pearson’s correlation *** association between PDGF-BB and PRP platelet count was evaluated using logistic *** study was approved by the Ethics Committee of Swami rama Himalayan University(SRHU/HIMS/ETHICS/2016/103)on September 7,***:The mean platelet count,PDGF-BB concentration,platelet yield,platelet dose,and growth factor dose in PRP were 1317×10^(9)/L,30±9.89ng/mL,71.62±28.34%,6.5±3.5×10^(9),and 159.62±52.39ng/mL,*** regression analysis indicated that PRP platelet counts were a good predictor for PGDF-BB(P<0.05;adjusted R^(2)=*** platelet count was significantly positively correlated with PDGF-BB concentration(r=0.74,P<0.001),platelet yield(r=0.80,P<0.001),platelet dose(r=1,P<0.001),and growth factor dose(r=0.74,P<0.001).Conclusions:PRP has wide clinical applications associated with its healing and regenerative properties,and both the quality and quantity of PRP thus need to be standardized as per the *** variables affecting PRP will thus aid pathologists and clinical practitioners.
