This paper reviews underground mining methods for total thickness of a thick coal seam in single lift （TI＇rCSSL）. Review shows the required engineering for extraction of thick seams needs to be fitted with thickness of the seam, behavior of rock-mass and surrounding stress conditions for efficient mining. Variants of TI＇rCSSL are able to extract a maximum 10-12 m thickness only. An improvement in bending moment of the overlying coal band in longwall top coal caving （LTCC） provides better under-winning opportunity for the roof coal band. An acceptable limit of 25 Mpa compressive strength of coal for the success of LTCC may be increased under favorable geo-technical conditions. Bord and pillar in India adopted induced caving of roof coal band for single lift depillaring of total thickness （SLDTr） of a compe- tent thick coal seam developed along floor. Case studies are given to arrest the adverse effects of extrac- tion height on pillars.

Schiff bases have been synthesized by condensing nicotinamide with methyl isobutyl ketone (MKN) and 2-hydroxy acetophenone (HAN). Metal complexes have been prepared by interacting these Schiff bases with metal ions viz. Ni(II), Cu(II) 1:2 (metal:ligand) ratio. These compounds have been synthesized by conventional as well as microwave methods and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, UV-Vis, FAB-mass, ESR, molar conductance, and thermal analysis. FAB mass and thermal data show degradation pattern of the complexes. The complexes are colored and stable in air at room temperature. The structure of the ligands were elucidated by spectral studies which indicate the presence of two or three coordinating groups in ligands which may be oxygen atom of the phenolic -OH group, the nitrogen atom of the azomethine (C=N) group and the oxygen atom of the carbonyl group. The thermal behavior of metal complexes shows that the hydrated complexes loses water molecules of hydration in the first step;followed by decomposition of ligand molecules in the subsequent steps. The solid state electrical conductivity of the metal complexes has also been measured. Solid state electrical conductivity studies reflect semiconducting nature of the complexes. The Schiff bases and metal complexes show good activity against the Gram-positive bacteria;Staphylococcus aureus and Gram-negative bacteria;Escherichia coli and fungi Aspergillus nigerand Candida albicans. The antimicrobial results also indicate that the metal complexes are better antimicrobial agents as compared to the Schiff bases.

Several dual metal cyanide catalysts were prepared from potassium ferrocyanide,metal chloride(where metal = Zn2+,Mn2+,Ni2+,Co2+ and Fe2+),t-butanol(complexing agent) and pEG-4000(co-complexing agent).The catalysts were characterized by elemental analysis(CHN and X-ray fluorescence),X-ray diffraction,N2 adsorption-desorption,scanning electron microscopy,Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy,and UV-Visible *** dual metal cyanide catalysts were used in several acid catalyzed multi-component coupling reactions for the synthesis of pharmaceutically important organic *** all these reactions,the Fe-Fe containing dual metal cyanide catalyst was the best *** catalysts can be recycled without loss in catalytic *** advantage of this method is the use of mild,efficient and reusable catalysts for various reactions,which makes them candidates for commercial use.

Juglans regia Linn. （Juglandaceae）, popularly known as English or persian walnut, is a valuable medicinal plant with a potency to cure various diseases in traditional medicine, Since ancient time, different local ethnic groups have used various part of J. regia for a wide array of ailments including helminthiasis, diarrhea, sinusitis, stomach ache, arthritis, asthma, eczema, scrofula, skin disorders, diabetes mellitus, anorexia, thyroid dysfunction, cancer and infectious diseases. Biological activities of J. regia have been reported in several peer review journals and scientific attention is increasing. The present review attempts to provide comprehensive information on plant description, ethnobotanical use, toxicity, phytochemical profile, pharmacology, clinical studies and current research prospective of the J. regia. Currently, there is an immense interest on isolation/identification of active constituents from walnut and screening those active compounds for pharmacological activities. In addition, researchers are performing clinical trials as well as screening various solvent extracts or fractions of J. regia in several animal diseases models to identify promising therapeutic benefits. In the present work, we review the latest information based on published scientific investigations of J. regia.

This paper presents an approach for oscillation damping with an integrated multi-stage linear quadratic regulator(MSLQR)FACTS controller combining power oscillation damping(pOD)*** particle swarm optimization(pSO)technique has been used for precise tuning initial control parameters of power system stabilizers(pSS)and FACTS devices(such as STATCOM and UpFC)which results in improved controller *** is observed that the proposed control structure damps the oscillations adequately and is modular in design *** sample power system comprising six areas is considered to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed *** states inter-relation which is shown with eigenvalues reflects better regulation with the proposed *** step response also validates the controller performance.

Objective:To investigate the renoprotective effects of luteolin on diabetes in ***:One week after administration of streptozotocin 55 mg/kg intraperitoneally,rats were given 25,50,and 75 mg/kg/day of luteolin orally for another eight *** the end of the experiment,body weight,blood glucose level,biochemical parameters for renal function(serum creatinine,blood urea nitrogen,uric acid,serum albumin,and total protein),kidney histology,matrix metalloproteinase(MMp)-2,MMp-9,and histone deacetylase 2(HDAC-2)expression,and malondialdehyde,myeloperoxidase,and hydroxyproline content in renal tissue were *** glucose-induced damage using NRK-52E cell line was studied to evaluate cell viability and metalloenzyme ***,in silico studies including docking and molecular dynamics simulations were ***:MMp-2,MMp-9,and HDAC-2 expressions were significantly increased in high glucose-induced NRK-52E cells and the renal tissue of diabetic ***,these changes were reversed by luteolin at the administered ***,luteolin significantly reduced oxidative stress,inflammation,and fibrosis,as well as improved biochemical parameters in diabetic ***,luteolin at the examined doses markedly alleviated diabetes-induced histopathological changes in renal ***:Luteolin effectively attenuates streptozotocin-induced diabetic nephropathy in rats by inhibiting MMp-2,MMp-9,and HDAC-2 expression,and reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.

The current communication reports in vitro characterization of the optimized hollow floating microballoons of amoxicillin on the basis of micromeritic properties and in vitro minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC).Amoxicillin loaded hollow microballoons were prepared by emulsion solvent diffusion *** morphological characterization was done on the basis of scanning electron microscopy(SEM).Fourier Transformed Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR)was used to investigate drugepolymer *** correlation between the in vitro buoyancy of microballoons and their physical properties,*** and porosity were *** results of FTIR spectroscopy revealed the absence of any drugepolymer *** porosity values of more than 69%and diameter to thickness ratio greater than 2.90,proved a high cavity volume within the microballoons in all size *** spherical shape of microballoons with hollow internal cavity was confirmed from SEM *** in vitro MIC results showed a sustained drug effect from the *** conclusion,it can be said that the developed microballoons can be used for the effective treatment of Helicobacter pylori induced gastric ulcer.
