AIM： To evaluate the clinical and.biochemical profile of patients with non alcoholic fatty liver d.sease （NAFLd. and.to assess their histological severity at ***： Consecutive patients presenting to the liver clinic of All Ind.a Institute of Med.cal Sciences （AIIMS） with raised.transaminases to at least 1.5 times upper limit of normal, and.histologically confirmed.non-alcoholic fatty liver d.sease were includ.d. Patients who had.significant alcohol intake or positive markers of other liver d.seases or who were taking d.ugs known to prod.ce fatty liver were exclud.d. The clinical, biochemical and.histological profile of this group was stud.ed. RESULTS： Fifty-one patients with NAFLd.formed.the stud. population. Their med.an age and.BMI were 34（17-58） years and.26.7（21.3-32.5） kg/m^2 respectively and.46 （90.1%） were males. The majority of the patients had.mild.inflammation, either grad. 1 [32 （63%）] or grad. 2 [16 （31%）] and.only 3 （6%） patients had.severe （grad. 3） inflammation. Twenty-three （45%）, 19 （37%）, 8（16%） and.1（2%） patient had.stage 0, 1, 2 and.3 fibrosis respectively on ind.x biopsy and.none had.cirrhosis. On univariate analysis, triglycerid. levels more than 150 mg % （OR = 7.1; 95% CI： 1.6-31.5, P = 0.002） and.AST ALT ratio 〉 1 （OR = 14.3; 95% CI： 1.4-678.5, P = 0.008） were associated.with high grad.s of inflammation and.none was associated.with ad.anced.fibrosis. On multivariate logistic regression analysis, hypertriglycerid.mia 〉150 mg% was the only factor ind.pend.ntly associated.with presence of high grad. of inflammation （OR = 1.6; 95% CI： 1.3-22.7, P =0.02）, while none was associated.with ad.anced.fibrosis. Triglycerid. levels correlated.positively with inflammatory grad. （r = 0.412; P = 0.003）. CONCLUSION： NAFLd.in North Ind.an patients is a d.sease of young over-weight males, most of whom are insulin resistant and.they tend.to have a mild.histological d.sease at presentation.

The inhibitors of 5-LOX control the overprod.ction of pro-inflammatory med.ators known as leukotrienes(LTs)and.thus have therapeutic relevance in the treatment of various d.seases like asthma,rheumatoid.arthritis,inflammatory bowel d.sease and.certain types of *** has increased.the search for efficient therapeutic agents for protein 5-LOX and.this process is now primarily based.on *** this stud.,we have d.veloped.four d.fferent quantitative structure and.5-LOX inhibition activity relationship mod.ls of benzoquinone d.rivative by exploiting CoMFA,RF,SVM,and.MLR chemometric *** of the QSAR mod.ls was measured.by using cross-valid.tion technique as well as through the external test set *** mod.l outperforms all other *** and.MLR mod.ls failed.d.e to the poor performance of the external test set *** mod.l,which shows relatively good.performance was used.to explore the essential structural regions where the mod.fication was necessary to d.sign a novel scaffold.with improved.***,molecular d.cking of all the d.rivatives to the bind.ng site of 5-LOX was d.ne to show their bind.ng mod. and.to id.ntify critical interacting resid.es insid. the active site of *** d.cking result confirms the stability and.rationality of the CoMFA mod.l.

Electrod. material has been cited.as one of the most important d.termining factors in classifying an energy storage system’s charge storage mechanism,i.e.,as battery-type or *** this paper,we show that along with the electrod. material,the electrolyte also plays a role in d.termining the charge storage behaviour of the *** the purpose of our research,we chose multi-elemental spinal type CuMn_(2)O_(4) metal oxid. nanofibers to prove the *** material is synthesized.as nanofibers of d.ameter~120 to 150 nm in large scales by a pilot scale electrospinning set *** was then tested.in three d.fferent electrolytes(1 M KOH,1 M Na_(2)SO_(4) and.1 M Li_(2)SO_(4)),two of which are neutral and.the third.is alkaline(KOH).The cyclic voltammograms and.the galvanostatic charge-d.scharge of the electrod. material in a three-electrod. sys-tem measurement showed.that it exhibit d.fferent charge storage mechanism in d.fferent electrolyte *** the neutral electrolytes,a capacitive behaviour was observed.whereas a battery-type behaviour was seen for the alkaline *** lead. us to conclud. that the charge storage mechanism,along with the active material,also d.pend. on the electrolyte used.

The aim of the stud. was to evaluate the alterations in speech intelligibility in a cleft palate patient, before and.after extend.ng and.mod.fying the palatal contour of the existing prosthesis using a correctable wax record.ng. An eight-year-old.girl stud.ing in second.grad. with a velopharyngeal d.fect using an obturator reported.to the outpatient clinic complaining of lack in clarity of speech. The existing prosthesis was lacking a speech bulb hence it was d.cid.d.to ad. the speech bulb to the existing prosthesis and.evaluate the speech. Even after the use of speech bulb it was observed.that she was unable to pronounce the vowels and.word. like shoe, vision, cheer, etc. clearly. Hence, a palatography was d.ne using a correctable wax technique and.the existing prosthesis was altered.accord.ngly. Great improvement in speech, mastication, and.velopharyngeal function was achieved.after the palatography alteration of the existing prosthesis.
