Appropriate Sub-band Selection in Wavelet Packet Decomposition for Automated Glaucoma Diagnoses

The most common reason for blindness among human beings is *** increase of fluid pressure damages the optic nerve which gradually leads to irreversible loss of vision.A technique for automated screening of Glaucoma from the fundal retinal images is presented in this *** paper intends to explore the significance of both the approximate and detail coefficients through wavelet packet decomposition(WPD).Decomposition is done with "db3" wavelet function and the images are decomposed up to level-3producing 84 *** features,the energy and the entropy are calculated for each sub-band producing two feature matrices(158 images × 84 features).The above step is purely a statistical measure based on *** enhance the diagnostic accuracy,the second phase considers the structural(biological) region of interest(ROI) in the image and then extracts the same *** is worthy to note that direct biological features are not extracted to eliminate the drawbacks of segmentation whereas the biologically significant region is taken as ***,the detailed coefficient sub-bands(prominent edges) show more significance in the biological-ROI *** from enhancing the diagnostic accuracy by feature reduction,the paper intends to mark the significance indices,uniqueness and discrimination capability of the significant features(sub-bands) in both the ***,the crisp inputs are fed to the classifier ***,from the significant features of the biological-ROI feature matrices,the accuracy is raised to 85%which is notable than the accuracy of 79%achieved without considering the ROI.

C-MEMS-derived glassy carbon electrochemical biosensors for rapid detection of SARS-CoV-2 spike protein

According to a World Health Organization(WHO)report,the world has experienced more than 766 million cases of positive SARS-CoV-2 infection and more than 6.9 million deaths due to COVID through May *** WHO declared a pandemic due to the rapid spread of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2)virus,and the fight against this pandemic is not over *** reasons for virus spread include the lack of detection kits,appropriate detection techniques,delay in detection,asymptomatic cases and failure in mass *** the last 3 years,several researchers and medical companies have introduced successful test kits to detect the infection of symptomatic patients in real time,which was necessary to monitor the ***,it is also important to have information on asymptomatic cases,which can be obtained by antibody testing for the SARS-CoV-2 *** this work,we developed a simple,advantageous immobilization procedure for rapidly detecting the SARS-CoV-2 spike ***-MEMS-derived glassy carbon(GC)is used as the sensor electrode,and the detection is based on covalently linking the SARS-CoV-2 antibody to the GC *** was used as a cross-linker between the antibody and glassy carbon electrode(GCE).The binding was investigated using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)characterization and cyclic voltammetric(CV)*** impedance spectroscopy(EIS)was utilized to measure the change in total impedance before and after incubation of the SARS-CoV-2 antibody with various concentrations of SARS-CoV-2 spike *** developed sensor can sense 1 fg/ml to 1µg/ml SARS-CoV-2 spike *** detection is label-free,and the chances of false positives are *** calculated LOD was~31 copies of viral RNA/*** coefficient of variation(CV)number is calculated from EIS data at 100 Hz,which is found to be 0.398%.The developed sensor may be used for mass screening because it is cost-effective.

Threshold Chloride Concentration for Passivity Breakdown of Mg-Zn-Gd-Nd-Zr Alloy (EV31A) in Basic Solution

Mg-Zn-Gd-Nd-Zr alloy （EV31A） is a heat-treatable magnesium （Mg） cast alloy that can be used up to 200 ℃ for automobile and aerospace applications. This alloy has excellent mechanical properties （ultimate tensile strength： 280 MPa at room temperature, and -230 MPa at 200 ℃） and improved corrosion resistance. Electrochemical corrosion studies were conducted on this alloy under different heat treatment conditions in 0.1 M NaOH solution with the addition of 0-1000 ppm of chloride. The alloy showed excellent passivity in the 0.1 M NaOH solution. The passive potential range typically extended to more than 1.2 VAg/AgCl. The transpassive potential was observed to be dependent on heat treatment condition of the alloy. More than 80 ppm of chloride was required to induce passivity breakdown in any heat treatment condition. Peak aging at 200 ℃ for 16 h imparted better resistance for localized corrosion than other heat-treated con- ditions. The alloy in the as-received condition showed the highest passivation kinetics due to its smaller grain size that possibly increased the diffusion of reactive elements to form protective oxide. The passive film of the EV31A alloy showed n-type semiconductivity with a charge carrier density of - 2 × 10^21 cm^- 3 with no chloride addition. The charge carrier density increased with chloride addition in the electrolyte which could be correlated with the susceptibility to localized corrosion.

Distributed control systems(DCS)have revolutionized the communication process and attracted more interest due to their pervasive computing nature(cyber/physical),their monitoring capabilities and the benefits they ***,due to distributed communication,flexible network topologies and lack of central control,the traditional security strategies are inadequate formeeting the unique characteristics ***,malicious and untrustworthy nodes pose a significant threat during the formation of a DCS ***-based secure systems not only monitor and track the behavior of the nodes but also enhance the security by identifying and isolating the malicious node,which reduces the risk and increases network *** this research,we offer TRUSED,a trust-based security evaluation scheme that both,directly and indirectly,estimates each node’s level of trustworthiness,incorporating the cumulative trust *** addition,simulation results show that the proposed technique can effectively identify malicious nodes,determine their node’s trustworthiness rating,and improve the packet delivery ratio.

The present study aimed to investigate the hypolipidemic,antioxidant and cardiac risk-suppressing effects of Chakhao poireiton(CP),a GI-tagged pigmented black rice from *** vitro and ex vivo studies confirmed that whole rice extracts of CP have potent antioxidant,3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase,cholesterol esterase inhibitory,and antilipase *** in vivo study was conducted to evaluate the effects of the ethanol extracts of CP on high-fat high-sugar induced hyperlipidemic *** ethanol extract significantly ameliorated lipid parameters and liver enzymes to *** of lactate dehydrogenase,creatine kinase-N-acetyl cysteine,C-reactive protein,and lipoprotein a were significantly lower in the extract-treated groups than those in the disease control group.A marked reduction of ApoB/ApoA1 and other atherogenic indices were observed in extract-treated *** phenolic compounds,*** acid,gallic acid,protocatechuic acid etc.,were quantified in *** study provided the first evidence of the antihyperlipidemic and cardiac risk inhibitory effects of CP,which would be beneficial in preventing and managing hyperlipidemia,associated oxidative stress,and cardiac complications.

Sidewall influence of varying free stream Mach number in ramp induced shock wave boundary layer interactions

This study investigates the three-dimensional(3D)effects introduced by the end walls for an aspect ratio of1 in ramp-induced shock wave boundary layer *** simulations are performed using a symmetry boundary condition in the spanwise direction at free-stream Mach numbers in *** simulations are performed using an in-house compressible supersonic solver“Open SBLIFVM”.Two free stream Mach numbers 2.5,and3 are used in the current work,and the simulated results are compared with the aspect ratio 1 simulations by Mangalagiri and *** inflow is initialized with a similarity solution;its Reynolds number based on the boundary layer thickness is adjusted such that the Reynolds number at the start of the ramp is kept at 3×10^(5)for all *** the results,it is evident that the introduction of sidewalls resulted in a shorter centerline separation length when compared with the two-dimensional(2D)*** contradicts the results at Mach 2 by Mangalgiri and Jammy where the vortex observed at Mach 2 in the central separation region disappeared with increasing free-stream Mach ***,the topology of interaction shifted from owl-like separation of the second kind to the first kind when the freestream Mach number increased from2 to *** can be concluded that the interaction topology is crucial to the increase or decrease of the central separation length when compared to 2D simulations.
