Background:Bacterial vaginosis is a polymicrobial syndrome in which the homeostasis exerted by the Latobacillus species that protect the vaginal mucosa has been lost. This study explored the data balancing process with the intention of improving the quality of association rules. The article aimed to balance the unbalanced multiclass dataset to improve association rule creation. Methods:A dataset with 201 observations and 58 variables was analyzed. A preconstructed dataset was used. The authors collected the data between August 2016 and October 2018 in Tabasco, Mexico. The study population comprised sexually active women ages 18 to 50 who underwent gynecological inspection at the infectious and metabolic diseases research laboratory at the Universidad Juarez Autonoma de Tabasco. To determine the best k-value, the random-forest algorithm was used and the balancing was performed with the synthetic minority over-sampling technique (SMOTE), random over-sampling examples (ROSE), and adaptive syntetic sampling approach for imbalanced learning (ADASYN) algorithms. The Apriori algorithm created the rules and to select rules with statistical significance, the ***(), ***(), and ***() functions and quality metric Fisher’s exact tes were used. The biological validation was carried out by the expert (bacteriologist). Results:The ADASYN algorithm at K = 9 the out of the bag (OOB) error was zero, this was the best K-values. In the balancing process the ADASYN algorithm show best the performance. From the dataset balanced with ADASYN, the apriori algorithm created the association rules and the selection with the quality metric Fisher’s exact test, and the biological validation reported 13 rules. Recently, tragic tailings dam collapses in Brazil have caused deaths and major destruction and the need to develop technologies capable of preventing damage to people and the environment. Brazilian tailings dams are in a situation of uncertainty due to new legislation that even requires decommissioning, an activity that involves many problems and where the risk of failure is the main one. An impact containment structure downstream of these dams can be effective and geotextile tubes, in a new approach, have emerged as an option with advantages in terms of execution, costs and safety. The technology is versatile and can bring many benefits such as the reuse of tailings or filling with low-energy or reused materials. In this research, geotextile tubes were tested as free containment barriers, experiencing impacts in reduced models. The safety factor for the stability of the structure was constructed using an equation which is the ratio between the self-weight of the barrier structure and its coefficient of static friction and the impact pressure, where the data showed an adequate correlation which suggests the viability of mitigating risks.

目的旨在通过系统综述,确定针对复杂慢性病患者增强自我管理的干预措施,以改善慢性呼吸困难,为护理人员促进该类人群的自我管理提供依据。方法2023年12月,系统检索Medline、Scopus、Web of Science、CINAHL、Cochrane图书馆和乔安娜布里格斯研究所(Joanna Briggs Institute,JBI)循证实践数据库。对纳入研究进行数据提取和综合,研究人员采用Rayyan文献管理软件筛选标题及摘要,并依据JBI研究质量评估工具进行方法学质量评估。结果共纳入18项研究。这些研究探讨了针对慢性呼吸困难的各种干预措施,包括药物干预(氧气疗法和吸入疗法)和非药物方法(教育计划、呼吸练习、液体摄入管理、身体感知技术、同伴支持、情商培训和网络应用程序的使用)。这些干预措施减轻了患者情绪困扰,可以使患者在自我管理方面变得独立自主。结论促进复杂慢性病患者对慢性呼吸困难的自我管理需要采取综合方法,但目前研究中没有充分考虑到针对患者行为改变的干预措施,需要进一步开展相关研究完善干预措施。

盘状星系中的棒结构特征与星系自身所处环境及整体恒星形成特征之间存在复杂的相互关系。利用细致的星系形态特征测量计划Galaxy Zoo DECaLS中的数据构建了一组目前最大的具有同样恒星质量分布的强棒、弱棒和无棒星系样本。通过引入星系所处暗晕质量及相空间特征来控制星系所处的环境效应之后,进一步对比研究强棒、弱棒和无棒星系的恒星形成特征。研究表明,有棒星系中的恒星形成熄灭的比例系统地高于无棒星系,且强棒的效应更为明显。但是,对于仍处于恒星形成主序上的星系来说,强棒、弱棒和无棒星系的恒星形成特征并没有显著差别。以上结果表明,星系中的棒特征在其存在的时标中可能使部分星系迅速地从恒星形成转入熄灭状态。

Radical prostatectomy by Laparotomy: Retrospective Study Comparing Separate and Continuous Stitches in the performance of Vesicourethral Anastomosis at a Single Center in the public Health Network

Background: prostate cancer ranks as the second most prevalent malignancy in men, with treatment strategies ranging from observation to various interventions. Radical prostatectomy is a common approach, aiming for a cure, and the technique for vesico-urethral anastomosis varies, employing separate or continuous stitches. However, a consensus on the optimal technique is lacking. This study aims to compare vesico-urethral anastomosis techniques (separate vs. continuous stitches) in laparotomy-based radical prostatectomies, evaluating peri and postoperative outcomes. Materials and Method: A retrospective analysis of 140 patients’ medical records yielded 86 eligible cases, divided into two groups based on anastomosis technique. Both groups underwent surgery at the same urology center between 2016 and 2019, with a follow-up period exceeding 12 months. pre-operative characteristics were statistically similar between groups. Results: perioperative complication rates did not significantly differ between the two techniques (p > 0.99). However, the continuous stitch group experienced a 20-minute longer procedure time (p 0.05), patients with continuous stitches had 2.5 times higher diaper usage at twelve months (p Conclusion: This research suggests that vesico-urethral anastomosis with separate stitches yields superior results in laparotomy-based radical prostatectomies compared to continuous stitches, demonstrating benefits in surgical time, hospital stay, sentinel drain duration, stenosis rates, and long-term urinary incontinence outcomes.
