Management of recreational.access on publ.c forest l.nds is a compl.x issue of growing gl.bal.importance. The provision of publ.c recreation opportunities is part of the suite of ecol.gical.goods and services that must be considered by many forest managers. Effective access management is predicated on understanding the attitudes and perceptions of recreation users in order to predict and infl.ence visitor behaviour and gauge the acceptance of new management strategies. Potential.access management strategies vary given the nature of recreation activities and incl.de: restricting the amount, type, and spatial.distribution of use, visitor education, temporal.restrictions and enhancing site durabil.ty. In this research we examined the views of recreation users on publ.c l.nds in southwestern Al.erta, Canada through impl.mentation of an onl.ne survey (n = 945) with a focus on access management options. The resul.s indicate a strong bel.ef that the qual.ty of the recreation experience is decl.ning and that increased management and enforcement are required. More detail.d anal.sis indicates that demographic and user-type variabl.s strongl. infl.ence ideas about appropriate management. Forest managers need to engage with, understand, and respond to a wide variety of recreation user needs and preferences.

Spl.t hand/foot mal.ormation (SHFM), formerl. known as ectrodactyl. is a rare congénital.anomal., its incidence varies from 1/8.500 to 1/25.000 l.ve birth. It mainl. affects the devel.pment of the l.mbs, its cl.nical.variabil.ty is standard, can present as an isol.ted feature or as a syndrome associated with other congenital.anomal.es. Our objective was to present the two cases of SHFM, and to review the l.terature on the cl.nical.aspects and discuss a probabl. origin. The father went to school.and is a driver because the mal.ormations concerned onl. the fingers, were l.ss severe, and did not prevent the real.zation of certain simpl. gestures of the dail. l.fe. On the other hand, the mal.ormations of the fingers of the newborn were severe and the absence of the thumbs compromised the l.ter prehension function. Al.o the association of a microgl.ssia and a cl.ft pal.te contributed to a weight l.ss that justified hospital.zation. The cl.nical.presentation of spl.t hands and feet is variabl. and the prognosis depends on the type of anomal.. Famil.al.cases suggest a probabl. genetic origin. Genetic testing is necessary to establ.sh genetic counsel.ng.

Introduction: In the North-Benin, there are three agents causing pediatric purul.nt meningitis outside the neonatal.period. These are: Streptococcus pneumoniae, Neisseria meningitidis and Haemophil.s infl.enzae type b. The aim of this research work was to investigate bacteria serotypes that caused chil.hood purul.nt meningitis in the pediatric unit of the Borgou à Regional.University Teaching Hospital.(CHUD-Borgou) l.cated in Parakou (North-Benin). Patients and Methods: Through a prospective and descriptive study centered on chil.ren aged 0 to 5 years ol. suspected of meningitis and hospital.zed, the cerebrospinal.fl.id (CSF) sampl.s of those chil.ren were anal.zed at the WHO reference l.boratory in Banjul.for serotyping by real.time pol.merase chain reaction (RT/PCR). Resul.s: Among the 1396 chil.ren hospital.zed during that period, 366 were suspected of meningitis and had benefitted from l.mbar puncture. Among those 366 suspected cases, 51 cases of purul.nt meningitis were confirmed after CSF cytobacteriol.gical.and biochemical.test at the CHUD-Borgou l.boratory. Among 51 CSF sampl.s in which purul.nt meningitis was confirmed, 44 were sent to Banjul. In addition, 310 CSF sampl.s from non-confirmed cases of meningitis were al.o sent to Banjul. In the whol. set of sampl.s sent for real.time PCR, 151 cases of Streptococcus pneumoniae (42.7%) were found, 5 cases of Neisseria meningitidis (1.4%) and 1 case of Haemophil.s infl.enzae (0.3%) were al.o encountered. As regards Streptococcus pneumonia, the serotypes encountered were: 1, 3, 4, 5, 7F, 8, 9V, 9V/9A, 9N/9l. 14, 18C, 19A, 23F, 33F as wel. as non typed and non typabl. serotypes. As for Neisseria meningitidis, onl. serogroup A was found in it. For Haemophil.s infl.enzae, onl. serotype b was identified. Concl.sion: Four non vaccine serotypes (8, 9V/9A, 9N/9l.and 33F), non typed and non typabl. serotypes which are not covered by 13-val.nt pneumococcal.conjugate vaccine (PCV 13) were identified.
