Cardiac involvement in disseminated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma,successful management with chemotherapy dose reduction guided by cardiac imaging: A case report and review of literature

BACKGROUND Secondary cardiac involvement by lymphoma has received limited attention in the medical literature, despite its grave prognosis. although chemotherapy improves patients' survival, a subgroup of treated patients dies suddenly due to myocardial rupture following chemotherapy initiation. Reducing the initial chemotherapy dose with dose escalation to standard doses may be effective in minimizing this risk but the data are limited. We report on the successful management of a patient with disseminated diffuse large B-cell lymphoma(DLBCL) involving the heart using such *** SUMMARY An 18-year-old male presented to our hospital with six months history of progressive dyspnea, orthopnea and cough. On physical examination, the patient was found to have a plethoric and mildly edematous face, fixed elevation of the right internal jugular vein, suggestive of superior vena cava obstruction, and a pelvic mass. Investigations during admission including a thoracoabdominal computed tomography(CT) scan with CT guided biopsy of the pelvic mass,echocardiography and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging led to the diagnosis of disseminated DLBCL with cardiac involvement. The patients were successfully treated with chemotherapy dose reduction followed by dose escalation to standard doses, under the guidance of cardiac imaging. The patient completed chemotherapy and underwent a successful bone marrow transplant. He is currently in remission and has a normal left ventricular *** Imaging-guided chemotherapy dosing may minimize the risk of myocardial rupture in cardiac lymphoma. Data are limited. Management should be individualized.

Mechanical and magneto-electronic properties of europium lanthanide-based cubic perovskites EuYO_(3)(Y=Cr, Mn, Fe): An ab initio study

Computational calculations using density functional theory(DFT) were performed for the first time using the full potential linearized augmented plane wave plus local orbital method(FP-LAPW + LO) to determine the structural, elastic, electronic and magnetic properties of europium-based cubic perovskites EuYO_(3)(Y=Cr, Mn, Fe). The exchange correlation potentials of GGA along with some analytical methods were adopted for the computation of structural and elastic properties. Moreover, the GGA + U formalism was also added for obtaining more precise electronic and magnetic properties, particularly to address the Eu-4f and Y-3d orientations in the spin-polarized double cell symmetry. The observed lattice parameters of these compounds are consistent with experiment. The observed bulk moduli predict that EuCrO_(3) is harder and less compressible than EuMnO_(3) and EuFeO_(3). The calculated tolerance factors of these compounds are within the cubic symmetry range. Our computed critical radius of EuCrO_(3) shows that EuCrO_(3) has a larger migration energy. Based on their elastic properties, these compounds are ductile in nature. We also computed the thermal properties of these compounds. The band structures and density of states show that these compounds are metallic in character. The lowest ground state energy and magnetic moments of these compounds expose their ferromagnetic nature. The metallic nature and strong ferromagnetism of these compounds make them promising applicants for application in spintronic.

Numerical Modeling and Technico-Economic Analysis of a Hybrid Energy Production System for Self-Consumption: Case of Rural Area in the Comoros

This study aims to provide electricity to a remote village in the Union of Comoros that has been affected by energy problems for over 40 years. The study uses a 50 kW diesel generator, a 10 kW wind turbine, 1500 kW photovoltaic solar panels, a converter, and storage batteries as the proposed sources. The main objective of this study is to conduct a detailed analysis and optimization of a hybrid diesel and renewable energy system to meet the electricity demand of a remote area village of 800 to 1500 inhabitants located in the north of Ngazidja Island in Comoros. The study uses the Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewable (HOMER) Pro to conduct simulations and optimize the analysis using meteorological data from Comoros. The results show that hybrid combination is more profitable in terms of margin on economic cost with a less expensive investment. With a diesel cost of $1/L, an average wind speed of 5.09 m/s and a solar irradiation value of 6.14 kWh/m2/day, the system works well with a proportion of renewable energy production of 99.44% with an emission quantity of 1311.407 kg/year. 99.2% of the production comes from renewable sources with an estimated energy surplus of 2,125,344 kWh/year with the cost of electricity (COE) estimated at $0.18/kWh, presenting a cost-effective alternative compared to current market rates. These results present better optimization of the used hybrid energy system, satisfying energy demand and reducing the environmental impact.

NLO response of derivatives of benzene, stilbene and diphenylacetylene：MP2 and DFT calculations

MP2 method and different functionals such as M06-HF, M06-2X, CAM-B3 LYP, PBE0, B3 LYP and M06 L incorporating different XC amounts were used to calculate the static first hyperpolarizabilies β(0) of eight molecules which are derivatives of benzene, stilbene and diphenylacetylene. The values were then compared to the experimental ones. The M06-2X functional was then selected for further calculations. NBO calculations were also performed to define the intramolecular charge transfer in each molecule. TD-DFT calculations were performed taking into account the solvent effect using the IEF-PCM formalism. Some parameters characterizing the vertical transitions such as the wavelength of the maximum absorption λ_(max) were compared to the experimental ones. Finally,solvation Gibbs free enthalpy ΔG_(solv) values have also been examined in order to determine which the specific solvent for a given molecule is.

Adaptive leader follower control for multiple quadrotors via multiple surfaces control

Based on the multiple surface and fixed undirected communication topology, the adaptive leader follower contrul for multiple quadrotors is discussed. Our approach is based on leader follower architecture. Multiple surface control （MSC） is used to design consensus controller to make multiple quadrotors construct a formation during flying with the presence of uncertainty item caused by the ground effect during landing or taking off. Simulation results are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

Clicking ferrocene to halogenated boron-doped diamond surfaces

The halogenated boron-doped diamond （BDD） surfaces were reacted with sodium azide through a nucle- ophilic substitution reaction. The resulting azide-terminated BDD surfaces were used to trigger the ＂click＂ reaction. Because of the attractive electrochemical properties of ferrocene-containing molecules, such as fast electron transfer rates, reversible redox activities, and favorable redox potentials, we show that ferrocene derivatives can be grafted onto non-oxidized diamond surfaces by ＂click chemistry＂. These redox-active ferrocene-containing layers on a BDD surface, because of their ability to store and release charges reversibly, have the potential to be used as hybrid molecular/semiconductor memory devices.

On-board measurement of emissions from liquefied petroleum gas,gasoline and diesel powered passenger cars in algeria

On-board measurements of unit emissions of CO,HC,NOx and CO2 were conducted on 17 private cars powered by different types of fuels including gasoline,dual gasoline–liquefied petroleum gas（LPG）,gasoline,and diesel. The tests performed revealed the effect of LPG injection technology on unit emissions and made it possible to compare the measured emissions to the European Artemis emission model. A sequential multipoint injection LPG kit with no catalyst installed was found to be the most efficient pollutant reduction device for all of the pollutants,with the exception of the NOx. Specific test results for a sub-group of LPG vehicles revealed that LPG-fueled engines with no catalyst cannot compete with catalyzed gasoline and diesel engines. Vehicle age does not appear to be a determining parameter with regard to vehicle pollutant emissions. A fuel switch to LPG offers many advantages as far as pollutant emissions are concerned,due to LPG＇s intrinsic ***,these advantages are being rapidly offset by the strong development of both gasoline and diesel engine technologies and catalyst converters. The LPG＇s performance on a chassis dynamometer under real driving conditions was better than expected. The enforcement of pollutant emission standards in developing countries is an important step towards introducing clean technology and reducing vehicle emissions.

固体火箭推进至今仍然是最为常用的推进技术,这是因为它比其他推进技术(如,液体火箭推进技术)呈现出许多优势,主要是设计简单、结构紧凑、操作准备周期短及更长的储存时间。但是,虽然这是最成熟的推进技术,但在这一领域的研究仍在进行,直到今天,因为不同于液体推进剂燃烧,固体推进剂燃烧不能随时进行调整,以产生实时所需的推力。虽然有推力调节的一些方法,例如改变燃烧表面积或使用不同类型的推进剂,但当它需要更多的实际应用时,这些技术就略显不足。近年来提出了一种通过脉冲隔离装置(PSD)将燃烧室内装药独立分开以获得不同推力的技术,比如,第一脉冲药柱用于助推,后续药柱用于续航,这一类固体火箭发动机称作双(多)脉冲固体火箭发动机。在本文的研究中。在第一阶段,已经提出了一种双脉冲固体火箭发动机的初步设计,允许其分成几个基本单元(或模块)并包含其制造过程。在后一阶段,进行了一个阶段的稳态数值模拟,研究了 PSD(脉冲分离装置)类型(考虑轴向和径向两种类型)和推进剂药柱内径对燃烧室内部流动特性的影响。基于ANSYS FLUENT商业软件进行了仿真研究。计算中,采用了k-ω SST湍流模型,并假设燃烧产物是理想气体。结果表明,在不同的几何构型条件下,第一脉冲燃烧室内流场差别不大。而第二脉冲燃烧室内流线、压力分布、湍流动能、轴向速度分布和轴向剪切应力的分析显示出更显著的差异。事实上,在轴向PSD类型的隔离装置条件下,流场参数变化较大,湍流动能较高且轴向速度急剧下降。另一方面,在径向PSD类型的隔离装置条件下,燃烧室内流场参数更加稳定。

With increasing trends of prostate cancer in the Saudi Arabia and Arab World: Should we start screening programs?

Incidence rate for prostate cancer in the Arab World is significantly lower than United States and Europe, it ranges from 5.5% to 39.2%. However, the incidence and the number of deaths is expected to increase. In Saudi Arabia, the crude incidence rate and age standardized incidence rate of prostate cancer are reported to be steadily increasing in between 2001-2008. Only two screening trials were attempted in 2001 and 2009 which yielded an incidence rate of 1.17% and 2.5% respectively. Men in the Arab world are sharing a common characteristic of poor knowledge and poor attitude towards prostate cancer examination and screening practices. They are ill-informed about the PSA test's strengths and drawbacks because the doctors are not talking to them about the importance of counselling. Men should be encouraged to do PSA testing before the age of 50 and till the age of 70 years. This could be achieved by enhancing their attitude and enriching the knowledge of the physicians towards PSA testing, harms and benefits, through shared decision making, which would increase men's knowledge scores, reduced their decisional conflict and promote greater involvement in decision making.

In this work,we present a feasibility study for a new hybrid power plant(PV-Wind-Diesel-Storage)directly connected to the electrical *** simulations are performed to verify the performance of the hybrid system under different scenarios using real meteorological *** is shown that the performances of the hybrid system connected to the electrical network depend obviously on the available energy resources and constraints because the renewable energies are *** addition,the price of the kWh of electricity supplied by the hybrid system is determined,which amounts to$0.209/kWh,which is very cost effective and satisfactory for the considered sample conditions(Comoros Island).
