The study focuses on the physico-chemical characteritics of the wild fruit Meyna laxiflora robyns(Alu)and fruit powder,which was gathered from the Konkan region of Maharashtra Alu fruit powder is made by using a drying aid called maltodextrin(MD).Powder samples(MP1,MP2,MP3,MP4 and MP5)were made using different amounts of MD(05,10,15,2.0 and 2.5 g).Preliminary phytochemical screening of fnuit pulp and powder showed the presence of some phytoconstituents such as reducing sugar,saponin,flavonoids,and terpenoids,whereas akaloids,tannins,steroids and protein were absent in *** parameters of the powder are durectly infuenced by the amount of MD,as evidenced by the variations in bulk density,total soluble solids,pH,specific gravity and the proximate among the powder *** solubility was found in the sample with a medium of *** highest of particle distribution was found in MD-added samples MP2(1 g),MP3(1.5 g),MP4(2 g)whereas the raw(MPO)showed the *** analysis was done using 9-point hedonic scale,which revealed that MP2,MP3,and MP4 were highly *** study assumed that fresh Alu fuit,palp and in the form of powder can be useful for the development of new products.

The tumor microenvironment is composed of a complex mixture of different cell types interacting under conditions of nutrient deprivation,but the metabolism therein is not fully understood due to difficulties in measuring metabolic fluxes and exchange of metabolites between different cell types in ***-scale metabolic modeling enables estimation of such exchange fluxes as well as an opportunity to gain insight into the metabolic behavior of individual cell ***,we estimated the availability of nutrients and oxygen within the tumor microenvironment using concentration measurements from blood together with a metabolite diffusion *** addition,we developed an approach to efficiently apply enzyme usage constraints in a comprehensive metabolic model of human *** combined modeling reproduced severe hypoxic conditions and the Warburg effect,and we found that limitations in enzymatic capacity contribute to cancer cells’preferential use of glutamine as a substrate to the citric acid ***,we investigated the common hypothesis that some stromal cells are exploited by cancer cells to produce metabolites useful for the cancer *** identified over 200 potential metabolites that could support collaboration between cancer cells and cancer-associated fibroblasts,but when limiting to metabolites previously identified to participate in such collaboration,no growth advantage was *** work highlights the importance of enzymatic capacity limitations for cell behaviors and exemplifies the utility of enzyme-constrained models for accurate prediction of metabolism in cells and tumor microenvironments.

BACKGrOUND Tourniquets are commonly used in elective extremity orthopaedic surgery to reduce blood loss,improve visualization in the surgical field,and to potentially reduce surgical *** is a lack of consensus in existing guidelines regarding the optimal tourniquet pressure,placement site,and duration of *** is a paucity of data on the relationship between the site of a tourniquet and postoperative pain in foot and ankle *** To explore the relationship between tourniquet site and intensity of post-operative pain scores in patients undergoing elective foot and ankle *** retrospective analysis of prospectively collected data on 201 patients who underwent foot and ankle surgery in a single institution was *** tourniquet duration,tourniquet pressure and site,and postoperative pain scores using Visual Analogue Score were collected in immediate recovery,at six hours and at 24 h *** plots were used to analyse the data and to assess for the statistical correlation between tourniquet pressure,duration,site,and pain scores using Pearson correlation *** All patients who underwent foot and ankle surgery had tourniquet pressure of 250 mmHg for ankle tourniquet and 300 mmHg for *** was no correlation between the site of the tourniquet and pain scores in recovery,at six hours and after 24 *** was a weak correlation between tourniquet time and Visual Analogue Score immediately post-op(r=0.14,P=0.04)but not at six or 24 h *** This study shows that there was no statistically significant correlation between tourniquet pressure,site and postop pain in patients undergoing foot and ankle *** choice of using a tourniquet is based on the surgeon's preference,with the goal of minimizing the duration of its application at the operative site.

Grass pea(Lathyrus sativus L.)is an imperative food crop cultured in dryland agricultural *** is a vital source of dietary protein to millions of populaces living in low-income countries in South-East Asia and *** study highlights the improvement of genomic properties and their application in marker-trait relationships for 17 yield-related characters in 400 grass pea genotypes from China and *** characters were assessed via 56 polymorphic markers using general linear model(GLM)(P+G+Q)and mixed linear model(MLM)(P+G+Q+K)in the tassel software based on the linkage disequilibrium and population structure *** structure analysis showed two major groups and one admixed group in the *** significant loci pairs of linkage disequilibrium(LD)mean value(D′)was 0.479.A total of 99 and 61 marker-trait associations in GLM and MLM models allied to the 17 traits were accepted at a 5%level of *** these markers,21 markers were associated with more than one trait;12 marker-trait associations passed the Bonferroni correction *** models found six markers C41936,C39067,C34100,C47146,C47638,and C43047 significantly associated with days to maturity,flower color,plant height,and seed per pod were detected in the Hebei and Liaoyang location(p≤0.01),and the interpretation rate(r^(2)value)11.2%to 43.6%.Conferring to the consequences,the association analysis methodology may operative system for quantitative,qualitative,and biochemical traits related to gene position mapping and support breeders in improving novel approaches for advancing the grass pea quality.

Giant cerebriform nevus cell nevus of the scalp is an extremely rare form of congenital melanocytic nevus. Giant cerebriform nevus of the scalp has a major psychosocial impact because of its unsightly appearance with fetid maceration. We report the case of a 35-year-old woman who had a painless, malodorous swelling of the cerebriform scalp measuring 20 × 17 cm in diameter with a wide base of insertion at the occipital level adhering to the deep planes. The excision associated with a skin plasty was carried out. Histology concluded that there was a giant cerebriform naevo-cellular nevus of the scalp.

This study aims to beneficiate low grade goethitic iron ore fines using a selective flocculation process. Selective flocculation studies were conducted using different polymers such as starch amylopectin(AP), poly acrylic acid(PAA), and a graft copolymer(AP-g-PAA). The obtained results were analyzed; they indicate the enhancement of the iron ore grade from 58.49% to 67.52% using AP-g-PAA with a recovery of 95.08%. In addition, 64.45% Fe with a recovery of 88.79% was obtained using AP. Similarly, using PAA, the grade increased to 63.46% Fe with a recovery of 82.10%. The findings are also supported by characterizing concentrates using X-ray diffraction(XrD) and electron probe microanalysis(EPMA) techniques.

Dear editors, The seminal, discoveries by Jeffrey Connor Hall, Michael rosbash and Michael Warren Young have earned the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine 2017 for revealing a crucial physiological mechanism explaining biological clock, with important implications for human health and diseases. The work explains the interplay between the biological clock, the transcriptional feedback loop, and neuroscience, where they identified genes and proteins that work together both in humans and other animals. This article describes the link between biological clock disruption and consequent neurodegeneration and also highlights the significance of biological clock modulators for possible clinical interventions in neurological disorders.

In this paper, a multi-view gait based human recognition system using the fusion of two kinds of features is *** use cross wavelet transform to extract dynamic feature and bipartite graph model to extract static feature which are coefficients of quadrature mirror filter(QMF)-graph wavelet filter bank. Feature fusion is done after normalization. For normalization of features, min-max rule is used and mean-variance method is used to find weights for normalized features. Euclidean distance between each feature vector and center of the cluster which is obtained by k-means clustering is used as similarity measure in Bayesian framework. Experiments performed on widely used CASIA B gait database show that, the fusion of these two feature sets preserve discriminant information. We report 99.90 % average recognition rate.

MicrorNAs (mirNAs) comprise short non-coding rNAs that function in regulating the expression of tumor suppressors or oncogenes and modulate oncogenic signaling pathways in cancer. mirNAs expression alters significantly in several tumor tissues and cancer cell lines. For example, mir-106b functions as an oncogene and increases in multiple cancers. The mir-106b directly targets genes involved in tumorigenesis, proliferation, invasion, migration, and metastases. This review has focused on the mir-106b function and its downstream target in different cancers and provide perspective into how mir-106 regulates cancer cell proliferation, migration, invasion, and metastases by regulating the tumor suppressor genes. Since mirNAs-based therapies are currently being developed to enhance cancer therapy outcomes, mir-106b could be an attractive and prospective candidate in different cancer types for detection, diagnosis, and prognosis assessment in the tumor.
