Hirschsprung's disease:Is there a relationship between mast cells and nerve fibers?

With the high prevalence of obesity, diabetes, and otherfeatures of the metabolic syndrome in United States, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) has inevitably become a very prevalent chronic liver disease and is now emerging as one of the leading indications for liver transplantation. Insulin resistance and derangement of lipid metabolism, accompanied by activation of the pro-inflammatory response and fibrogenesis, are essential pathways in the development of the more clinically significant form of NAFLD, known as nonalcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH). recent advances in the functional characterization of bile acid receptors, such as farnesoid X receptor(FXr) and transmembrane G protein-coupled receptor(TGr) 5, have provided further insight in the pathophysiology of NASH and have led to the development of potential therapeutic targets for NAFLD and NASH. Beyond maintaining bile acid metabolism, FXr and TGr5 also regulate lipid metabolism, maintain glucose homeostasis, increase energy expenditure, and ameliorate hepatic inflammation. These intriguing features have been exploited to develop bile acid analogues to target pathways in NAFLD and NASH pathogenesis. This review provides a brief overview of the pathogenesis of NAFLD and NASH, and then delves into the biological functions of bile acid receptors, particularly with respect to NASH pathogenesis, with a description of the associated experimental data, and, finally, we discuss the prospects of bile acid analogues in the treatment of NAFLD and NASH.

Objective Bioremediation technology has gained importance because microbes could be the convenient source of bio-absorption/bioaccumulation of metals from effluent streams. Methods The nickel-resistant bacterial isolates （NirBI） were selected from various bacterial isolates from industrial effluent and grown in nutrient broth containing different concentrations of nickel sulfate （0.3-3.0 mmol/L） and their capability of accumulating metal from the medium. results Well-defined growth of NirBI was observed in the medium containing up to 2.5 mmol/L of nickel. The isolate was identified using 16S rrNA and closely related to Pseudomonas fragi. Maximum accumulation of nickel （0.59 mg/g dry weight of bacterial cells） was observed when NirBI was grown in media containing 2 mmol/L of nickel. The protein profile of the NirBI cellular extract by SDS-PAGE showed two metal stress-induced proteins of molecular weight 48 KD and 18 KD with a simultaneous down regulation of four proteins of 46.7 KD, 42.2 KD, 19.7 KD, and 4.0 KD. Conclusion 48 KD and 18 KD proteins play a role in metal resistance mechanism by NirBI.

Effort estimation plays a crucial role in software development projects,aiding in resource allocation,project planning,and risk *** estimation techniques often struggle to provide accurate estimates due to the complex nature of software *** recent years,machine learning approaches have shown promise in improving the accuracy of effort estimation *** study proposes a hybrid model that combines Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)and random Forest(rF)algorithms to enhance software effort *** proposed hybrid model takes advantage of the strengths of both LSTM and rF *** evaluate the performance of the hybrid model,an extensive set of software development projects is used as the experimental *** experimental results demonstrate that the proposed hybrid model outperforms traditional estimation techniques in terms of accuracy and *** integration of LSTM and rF enables the model to efficiently capture temporal dependencies and non-linear interactions in the software development *** hybrid model enhances estimation accuracy,enabling project managers and stakeholders to make more precise predictions of effort needed for upcoming software projects.

AIM: To systematically review the literature to assess the efficacy of corticosteroids in treating postparotidectomy facial nerve palsy(FNP). METHODS: We searched the Cochrane library, EMBASE and MEDLINE(from inception to 2014) for studies assessing the use of corticosteroids in post-parotidectomy FNP. Studies were assessed for inclusion and quality. Data was extracted from included studies. rESULTS: Two randomised controlled trials met the inclusion criteria. One study assessed the use of dexamethasone and the other prednisolone. None of the studies demonstrated a significant difference in the outcome of FNP post-parotidectomy with the use of corticosteroids vs no therapy. The majority of FNP postparotidectomy is transient. Preoperative factors(size of tumour and malignancy), intraoperative factors(extent of parotidectomy and integrity of facial nerve at the end of the operation) are important in determining prognosis of FNP if it does ***: Corticosteroids do not appear to improve FNP prognosis post-parotidectomy. Further studies assessing patients by cohort and with long term followup are required to increase scientific evidence.

Existing wireless systems rely on closed,proprietary and inflexible hardware based architectures both at the radio front end and in the core *** couldn’t work efficiently under changing *** is hard for an operator to implement the services and change the network strategy under heavy *** thesis explores the introduction of moving stand-alone access points to flexible,scalable and resilient network architecture with a centralized controller and underlying physical forwarding devices which can only be realized by the software defined networking *** defined network（SDN）often referred to as a revolutionary new idea in computer networks,which promises to simplify network control,management and enable innovation through network *** is an open,dynamic,innovative,scalable and manageable centralized architecture and extensively adopted in-data centers and enterprise *** the concept of SDN in wireless networks to bring change in the existing traditional proprietary Wi-Fi networks,to make the network infrastructure so simple and flexible,so that vendors can implement and test their designed algorithms without disturbing the network *** get rid of Wi-Fi stand-alone access points and to move them to the centralized controller based architecture by adding Open-Flow devices.A system is proposed which could handle the access points from a centralized controller and helps the mobile stations how and when to connect with the right AP and take efficient handover based on AP *** interface is added with the station and its traffic is tested at different *** experimental results show that mobile station is connecting with the APs using different interfaces and sharing data with the server from *** roaming station takes handover from the highly loaded AP to the lightly loaded AP based on the number of stations connected with APs.

Twitter is a well-known microblogging platform for rapid diffusion of views,ideas,and *** disasters,it has widely been used to communicate evacuation plans,distribute calls for help,and assist in damage *** reliability of such information is very important for decision-making in a crisis situation,but also difficult to *** is little research so far on the transferability of quality assessment methods from one geographic region to *** main contribution of this research is to study Twitter usage characteristics of users based in different geographic locations during *** examine tweeting activity during two earthquakes in Italy and *** compare the granularity of geographic references used,user profile characteristics that are related to credibility,and the performance of Naive Bayes models for classifying Tweets when used on data from a different region than the one used to train the *** results show similar geographic granularity for Myanmar and Italy earthquake events,but the Myanmar earthquake event has less information from locations nearby when compared to ***,there are significant and complex differences in user and usage characteristics,but a high performance for the Naive Bayes classifier even when applied to data from a different geographic *** research provides a basis for further research in credibility assessment of users reporting about disasters.
