The presence of heavy metals such as arsenic(As)and chromium(Cr)can be considered one of the most toxic heavy *** study aims to develop and evaluate a graphene oxide(GO)based material functionalized with ferrihydrite for the removal of As(V)in the presence of Cr(VI).The adsorbent ferrihydrite-functionalized graphene oxide(GOFH)was characterized by SEM,FTIr,XrD,XPS,surface charge,BET and *** adsorption capacities for As(V)and Cr(VI)were 160 and 66 mg g^(-1)respectively at pH 4 and 298 K,fitting the Langmuir *** binary systems,GOFH adsorbed As(V)with an adsorption capacity of 137 mg g^(-1)in the presence of 20 mg L^(-1)Cr(VI)at room *** analysis revealed an exothermic and spontaneous ***,GOFH effectively removed several coexisting anions from groundwater,including SO_(4)^(2-),CO_(3)^(2-)and Cl^(-).This work evidences the potential of GOFH for competitive adsorption of priority pollutants from complex *** GOFH material represents a technically and economically viable technology for application in groundwater decontamination,as it requires inexpensive precursors and ambient conditions during synthesis and operation.

In the present work, we are interested in studying the joint distributions of pairs of the monthly maxima of the pollutants used by the environmental authorities in Mexico City to classify the air quality in the metropolitan area. In order to obtain the joint distributions a copula will be considered. Since we are analyzing the monthly maxima, the extreme value distributions of Weibull and Fréchet are taken into account. Using these two distributions as marginal distributions in the copula a Bayesian inference was made in order to estimate the parameters of both distributions and also the association parameters appearing in the copula model. The pollutants taken into account are ozone, nitrogen dioxide, sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and particulate matter with diameters smaller than 10 and 2.5 microns obtained from the Mexico City monitoring network. The estimation was performed by taking samples of the parameters generated through a Markov chain Monte Carlo algorithm implemented using the software OpenBugs. Once the algorithm is implemented it is applied to the pairs of pollutants where one of the coordinates of the pair is ozone and the other varies on the set of the remaining pollutants. Depending on the pollutant and the region where they were collected, different results were obtained. Hence, in some cases we have that the best model is that where we have a Fréchet distribution as the marginal distribution for the measurements of both pollutants and in others the most suitable model is the one assuming a Fréchet for ozone and a Weibull for the other pollutant. results show that, in the present case, the estimated association parameter is a good representation to the correlation parameters between the pair of pollutants analyzed. Additionally, it is a straightforward task to obtain these correlation parameters from the corresponding association parameters.

Background:We aimed to evaluate whether large prostate size,small lesion volume,or long lesion distance from the ultrasound probe tip would decrease cancer detection in transrectal magnetic resonance imaging(MrI)–targeted *** and methods:Patients who underwent MrI-targeted biopsy at our institution between May 2017 and August 2019 were enrolled in a prospective *** to 5 cores were obtained from≥2 prostate imaging reporting and data system v2 lesions.A multivariable model was created that included needle distance to the lesion,prostate specific antigen,prostate imaging reporting and data system,lesion volume,and prostate ***:A total of 377 patients with 533 lesions underwent a biopsy during the study period.A total of 233(44%)lesions were positive for prostate cancer,and 173(32%)lesions had clinically significant prostate *** mean needle distance to the lesion was 11.7mm(interquartile range,7.6–15.5mm).The likelihood of obtaining a positive core on biopsy decreased as the distance fromthe ultrasound probe increased for all prostate cancers and clinically significant prostate cancer(p=0.018 and p=0.004,respectively).Every 10mmfrom the rectum,there was an 8%–10%decrease in the rate of cancer ***,as the prostate volume increased,the odds of obtaining a positive core also decreased(p=0.039).There was no significant association between the lesion size and amount of cancer obtained on ***:Our data showed that transrectal MrI-targeted biopsy cancer detection modestly decreased the lesion from the ultrasound probe and with a large prostate volume but could not prove that lesion volume was a significant predictor of the amount of cancer detected.

The present study was to evaluate the effect of trace minerals(Zn,Mn,and Cu)from complexed amino acid minerals(ZMCAA)and bis-glycinate chelated minerals(ZMCGly)in laying hen diets on performance,internal and external egg quality,yolk mineral deposition,intestinal morphometry,and bone *** 78 to 98 weeks of age,400 White LSL-Lite strain laying hens were distributed in a randomized design with 4 treatments with 10 replicates per *** were distributed in a 2×2 factorial arrangement using either Zn,Mn,and Cu of ZMCAA or ZMCGly source at 2 levels:low(20,20,and 3.5 mg/kg of Zn,Mn,and Cu,respectively)or high(40,40,and 7 mg/kg of Zn,Mn,and Cu,respectively).The analysis of variance was performed,and in cases where differences were observed,the means were compared using Tukey?s test(Prce and level of trace mineral supplementation had a significant impact on the performance of laying *** fed ZMCAA had higher egg production(P=0.01),egg weight(P=0.02),egg mass(P=0.01),and lower feed conversion ratio(P=0.05)compared to those fed *** ZMCAA supplementation showed higher albumen height(P=0.01),albumen weight(P=0.01),and eggshell thickness(Preater for hens received *** weight(P=0.04)and bone densitometry(Pre higher with ZMCAA *** the small intestine,ZMCAA resulted in longer villi(P=0.02)and shorter crypt depth(P=0.01)in the *** and ileum measurements were influenced by the level and source of trace minerals(Prior performance,egg quality,deposition of trace minerals in the egg yolk,and bone density compared to hens fed *** this study,older laying hens supplemented with ZMCAA at lower levels demonstrated adequate levels of supplementation.

Hydrological models are developed to simulate river flows over a watershed for many practical applications in the field of water resource management. The present paper compares the performance of two recurrent neural networks for rainfall-runoff modeling in the Zou river basin at Atchérigbé outlet. To this end, we used daily precipitation data over the period 1988-2010 as input of the models, such as the Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and recurrent Gate Networks (GrU) to simulate river discharge in the study area. The investigated models give good results in calibration (r2 = 0.888, NSE = 0.886, and rMSE = 0.42 for LSTM;r2 = 0.9, NSE = 0.9 and rMSE = 0.397 for GrU) and in validation (r2 = 0.865, NSE = 0.851, and rMSE = 0.329 for LSTM;r2 = 0.9, NSE = 0.865 and rMSE = 0.301 for GrU). This good performance of LSTM and GrU models confirms the importance of models based on machine learning in modeling hydrological phenomena for better decision-making.
