Controlling the concentration of defects in reduced graphene oxide （rgo） to tailor its electrical and physicochemical properties has remained a significant challenge. We report that extent of microwave （MW）-driven annealing of rgo is influenced significantly by its bulk density, which allows us to vary its defect density and crystallite size over wide ranges by controlling this parameter. Extent of anneal- ing was investigated by multiple techniques including raman and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopies, and electrical conductivity measurements. Improved corrosion resistance of rgos upon annealing was ex- amined by cyclic voltammetry in H_2SO_4 electrolyte and temperature-programmed oxidation of rgo. Our results indicate that a low bulk density of rgo facilitates defect annealing, yielding high-quality carbon with 99.3 wt% purity, oxidative resistance as high as graphite powder, and an electrical conductivity of 36,000 S m-1 in the compressed powder form. These results demonstrate a prospective synthesis route for tailor-made nanocarbons from rgo through MW-driven annealing.

Geodashboards are often designed with explanatory elements guiding *** elements(*** or annotations)need to be carefully designed to mitigate split attention or information integration *** this paper,we report expert interviews followed by a controlled experiment where we compare two interface designs with a focus on the split attention effect:(1)a multiple-legend layout with explanatory elements located next to each view,and(2)a single-legend layout with all explanatory elements gathered in one *** legend layouts did not affect the performance,but affected user satisfaction.75%of the participants preferred the multiple-legend layout,and rated it with a higher usability score,mainly attributing this preference to the proximity of legend elements to the view of *** tracking data strongly and clearly verifies that participants indeed make use of the proximity:With the single-legend,the majority of eye-movement transitions were between the single-legend and the closest view to the legend,whereas with multiple-legend participants have shorter and more frequent legend visits,as well as more transitions between legends and *** together,the design lesson we learned from this experiment can be summarized as‘split the legend elements,but make it close to the explained elements’.

The decrease in species richness toward higher latitudes is an expected biogeographical *** pattern could be related to particular envi-ronmental constraints and the evolutionary history of ***,species richness does not fully represent the evolutionary history of the clades behind their *** diversity better clarifies the role of historical factors in biogeographical *** analyzed envi-ronmental and historical dr.ver. related to latitudinal variation in species richness and phylogenetic diversity of Atlantic Forest endemic *** implemented species distribution models,from voucherbased locality points,to map the snake ranges and *** used generalized additive mixed models to evaluate the relationships among the diversity metrics and area,topographical roughness,and past climate change velocity since the Last Maximum Glacial in the Atlantic Forest latitudinal *** to the expected general pattern,species richness was higher toward higher latitudes,being positively related to past climatic *** richness also increased with total area and higher topographical *** diversity,on the other hand,showed opposite relationships related to the same *** diversity increased with lower climatic stability in lower ***,dimensions of diversity were affected in different ways by historical and environmental constraints in this unique and threatened biodiversity hotspot.

The goal of this paper was to present knowledge on changes in the morphodynamic structure of the Ochotnica r.ver.Polish Carpathians)and transformations within its active r.ver.zone since the end of the 19th *** study used a set of archival and contemporary cartographic materials and the results of three-fold field mapping of the morphodynamic structure of the *** and indirect human interference with the natural environment of the catchment and the fluvial system was taken into account in the *** of changes in the morphodynamic structure of the Ochotnica and its active r.ver.zone since the end of the 19th century indicated significant changes in the development trend of the *** contemporary structure of the Ochotnica is more complex than in the *** has been a fragmentation of the r.ver.ed into sections with different morphodynamic *** proportion of erosive sections has increased,which explains the reduced in the width of the active r.ver.zone of the *** average width of the active r.ver.zone of the r.ver.between 1861 and 2022 has changed from 80 m to 18 *** impact has been identified as the main reason for the changes in the morphodynamic structure of the r.ver.ed and its active r.ver.***,only the unregulated sect ion is characterised by free lateral migration of the r.ver.ed and the widest active r.ver.zone(~28 m).

Over the past two decades, the CICECO-hub scientists have devoted substantial efforts to advancing bioactiveinorganic materials based on calcium phosphates and alkali-free bioactive glasses. A key focus has been thedeliberate incorporation of therapeutic ions like Mg, Sr, Zn, Mn, or Ga to enhance osteointegration and vascularization,confer antioxidant properties, and impart antimicrobial effects, marking significant contributions tothe field of biomaterials and bone tissue engineering. Such an approach is expected to circumvent the uncertaintiesposed by methods relying on growth factors, such as bone morphogenetic proteins, parathyroidhormone, and platelet-rich plasma, along with their associated high costs and potential adverse side effects. Thiscomprehensive overview of CICECO-hub’s significant contributions to the forefront inorganic biomaterials acrossall research aspects and dimensionalities (powders, granules, thin films, bulk materials, and porous structures),follows a unified approach rooted in a cohesive conceptual framework, including synthesis, characterization, andtesting protocols. Tangible outcomes [injectable cements, durable implant coatings, and bone graft substitutes(scaffolds) featuring customized porous architectures for implant fixation, osteointegration, accelerated boneregeneration in critical-sized bone defects] were achieved. The manuscript showcases specific biofunctionalexamples of successful biomedical applications and effective translations to the market of bone grafts foradvanced therapies.
