North Afr.ca is one of the most regions impacted by water *** implementation of controlled drainage(cD)in the northern Nile river delta of Egypt is one strategy to decrease irrigation,thus alleviating the negative impact of water *** study investigated the impacts of cD at different levels on drainage outflow,water table level,nitrate loss,grain yield,and water use efficiency(WUE)of various wheat *** levels of cD,i.e.,0.4 m below the soil surface(cD-0.4)and 0.8 m below the soil surface(cD-0.8),were compared with subsurface free drainage(SFD)at 1.2 m below the soil surface(SFD-1.2).Under each drainage treatment,four wheat cultivars were grown for two growing seasons(November 2018–April 2019 and November 2019–April 2020).compared with SFD-1.2,cD-0.4 and cD-0.8 decreased irrigation water by 42.0%and 19.9%,drainage outflow by 40.3%and 27.3%,and nitrate loss by 35.3%and 20.8%,*** cD treatments,plants absorbed a significant portion of their evapotranspiration from shallow groundwater(22.0%and 8.0%for.cD-0.4 and cD-0.8,respectively).All wheat cultivars positively responded to cD treatments,and the highest grain yield and straw yield were obtained under.cD-0.4 *** the initial soil salinity as a reference,the soil salinity under.cD-0.4 treatment increased two-fold by the end of the second growing season without negative impacts on wheat *** the drainage system by raising the outlet elevation and considering shallow groundwater.contribution to crop evapotranspiration promoted water-saving and *** responses could be obtained based on the different plant tolerance to salinity and water stress,crop char.cteristics,and growth ***-specific soil salinity management pr.ctices will be required to avoid soil salinization due to the adoption of long-term shallow groundwater in Egypt and other similar agroecosystems.

Laboratory tests to study the influence of r.ck stress confinement on the performances of TBm discs in tunnels

To clarify some aspects of r.ck destr.ction with a disc acting on a high confined tunnel face, a series of tests were carried out to examine fr.cture mechanisms under an indenter that simulates the tunnel boring machine （TBm） tool action, in the presence of an adjacent groove, when a state of stress （lateral confinement） is imposed on a r.ck sample. These tests proved the importance of carefully establishing the optimal distance of grooves produced by discs acting on a confined surface, and the value （as a mere order of magnitude） of the increase of the thrust to produce the initiation of chip formation, as long as the confinement pressure becomes greater.

基于Licl法优化酿酒葡萄叶片的rNA提取

为获得纯度高、质量好的酿酒葡萄植株叶片rNA以用于荧光实时定量分析,为后续以酿酒葡萄叶片rNA为材料研究相关转录水平的调控提供技术保障,以经典酿酒葡萄赤霞珠叶片为试验材料,比较分析了重蒸酚法、Trizol法、改良的十六烷基三甲基溴化铵(cTAB)法和Licl法(基于改良的SDS法)4种方法对酿酒葡萄叶片rNA提取的影响。结果表明,重蒸酚法提取rNA浓度较低,完整性较差,存在部分降解;Trizol法提取的rNA则有部分DNA污染;改良cTAB法提取浓度较高,但蛋白和DNA污染严重;Licl法提取结果显示,28S的条带亮度是18S的2倍,条带无拖尾,完整性较好,存在DNA污染和少量的蛋白污染。进一步在Licl法基础上利用醋酸钠、DNAase消化、苯酚抽提法进一步优化,并采用荧光实时定量验证,结果表明,醋酸钠的加入rNA质量无明显改善;然而,经氯仿和水饱和酚(体积比1∶1)抽提2次,氯仿抽提1次,氯仿和水饱和酚(体积比1∶1)抽提1次,并经DNAase进行消化,最终提取出质量浓度为173.611μg/mL、A_(260/280)为1.803纯度高、完整性较好且无蛋白和DNA污染的葡萄叶片总rNA;经实时荧光定量Pcr进一步验证,该方法提取的rNA经反转录后获得较好的扩增曲线以及融解曲线,并能够对相关基因进行定量分析。

Impacts of Soil Additives on crop Yield and c-Sequestration in Post mine Substrates of Lusatia,Germany

opencast lignite mining in the Lusatia region of Germany has resulted in large scale landscape disturbances, which require suitable r.cultivation techniques in order to promote plant growth and establishment in the remaining nutrient-poor substrates with low water-holding capacity. Thus, the effects of two commercial soil additives （cSA）, a hydrophilic polymer mixed with volcanic r.ck flour and bentonite （a-cSA）, and digester solids from biogas plants enr.ched with humic acids and bentonite （b-cSA）, on soil organic carbon （Soc） storage, plant yields and root biomass were assessed after.cultivating perennial crops （Dactylis 9lornerata L.） in monoculture and Helianthus annuus L.-Brassica napus L. in crop rotation systems. The cSA were incorporated into the top 20 cm soil depth using a rotary spader. The results indicated that a-cSA led to a significant increase in plant yield during the first year, and improved root biomass in the following year. As a result, Soc stocks increased, especially in the 0 10 cm soil layer. No significant sequestration of additional Soc was observed on b-cSA-amended plots at the end of both years. Bulk density values decreased in all treatments under the monoculture system. It can be concluded that application of a-cSA enhanced soil water availability for plant uptake and consequently promoted plant growth and organic carbon sequestration. The relative enr.chment of organic matter without effects on water-holding capacities of b-cSA treatments suggested that it was not suitable for rapid land r.clamation.

The study of non-axisymmetr.c Homann stagnation-point flow of Walter’s B nanofluid along with magnetohydrodynamic(mHD) and non-linear rosseland thermal radiation over a cylindr.cal disk in the existence of the time-independent free stream is considered. moreover, the notable impacts of thermophoresis and Brownian motion are analyzed by Buongiorno’s model. The momentum, energy, and concentration equations are converted into the dimensionless coupled ordinary differential equations via similarity transformations, which are later numer.cally solved by altering the values of the pertinent parameters. The numer.cal and asymptotic solutions for the large shear-to-strain rate ratio γ =a/bfor the parameters of the displacement thicknesses and the wall-shear stress are computed by perturbative expansion and analyzed. Furthermore, the technique bvp4c in mATLAB is deployed as an efficient method to analyze the calculations for the non-dimensional velocities, temperature, displacement thickness, and concentration profiles. It is observed that the two-dimensional displacement thickness parameters α andβ are reduced due to the viscoelasticity and magnetic field effects. moreover, when the shear-to-strain rate ratio approaches infinity, α is closer to its asymptotic value, while βand the three-dimensional displacement thickness parameter δ1 show the opposite *** outcomes of the viscoelasticity and the magnetic field on the skin fr.ction are also determined. It is concluded that ■ reaches its asymptotic behavior when the shearto-strain rate ratio approaches infinity. meanwhile, ■ shows different results.

Towards cr（VI）-free anodization of aluminum alloys for aerospace adhesive bonding applications： A review

For more than six decades, chromic acid anodizing （cAA） has been the central pr.cess in the surface pre-treatment of aluminum for adhesively bonded aircraft str.ctures. Unfortunately, this electrolyte contains hexavalent chromium （cr（VI））, a compound known for its toxicity and carcinogenic properties. To comply with the new str.ct international regulations, the cr（VI）-era will soon have to come to an end. Anodizing aluminum in acid electrolytes produces a self-ordered porous oxide layer. Although different acids can be used to create this type of str.cture, the excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance that is currently achieved by the complete cr（VI）-based pr.cess is not easily matched. This paper provides a critical overview and appraisal of proposed alternatives to cAA, including combinations of multiple anodizing steps, pre- and post anodizing treatments. The work is presented in terms of the modifications to the oxide properties, such as morphological features （e.g., pore size, barrier layer thickness） and surface chemistry, in order to evaluate the link between fundamental principles of adhesion and bond performance.

Focal depth,magnitude,and frequency distribution of earthquakes along oceanic trenches

The occurrence of earthquakes in oceanic tren- ches can pose a tsunami threat to lives and properties in active seismic zones. Therefore, the knowledge of focal depth, magnitude, and time distribution of earthquakes along the trenches is needed to investigate the future occurrence of earthquakes in the zones. The oceanic trenches studied, were located from the seismicity map on： latitude ＋51 ° to＋53° and longitude -160° to 176° （Aleutian Trench）, latitude ＋40° to ＋53° and longitude ＋148° to＋165° （Japan Trench）, and latitude -75° to -64° and longitude -15° to ＋30° （Peru-chile Trench）. The following features of seis- mic events were considered： magnitude distribution, focal depth distribution, and time distribution of earthquake. The results obtained in each trench revealed that the earthquakes increased with time in all the regions. This implies that the lithospher.c layer is becoming more unstable. Thus, tectonic stress accumulation is increasing with time. The rate of increase in earthquakes at the Peru-chile Trench is higher than that of the Japan Trench and the Aleutian Trench. This implies that the convergence of lithospher.c plates is higher in the Peru-chile Trench. Deep earthquakes were observed across all the trenches. The shallow earthquakes were more prominent than intermediate and deep earthquakes in all thetrenches. The seismic events in the trenches are mostly of magnitude range 3.0-4.9. This magnitude range may indi- cate the genesis of mild to moderate tsunamis in the trench zone in near future once sufficient slip would occur with displacement of water.column.
