In this article we propose an overlapping schwarz domain decomposition method for solving a singularly perturbed semilinear reaction-diffusion problem. The solution to this problem exhibits boundary layers of width O（√ε ln（1/√ε）） at both ends of the domain due to the presence of singular perturbation parameter ε. The method splits the domain into three overlapping subdomains, and uses the Numerov or Hermite scheme with a uniform mesh on two boundary layer subdomains and a hybrid scheme with a uniform mesh on the interior subdomain. The numerical approximations obtained from this method are proved to be almost fourth order uniformly convergent （in the maximum norm） with respect to the singular perturbation parameter. Furthermore, it is proved that, for small ε, one iteration is sufficient to achieve almost fourth order uniform convergence. Numerical experiments are given to illustrate the theoretical order of convergence established for the method.

Background The utility of routine extensive molecular profiling of pediatric tumors is a matter of debate due to the high number of genetic alterations of unknown significance or low evidence and the lack of standardized and personalized decision support *** drug assignment(DDA)is a novel computational method to prioritize treatment options by aggregating numerous evidence-based associations between multiple drivers,targets,and targeted *** has been validated to improve personalized treatment decisions based on the outcome data of adult patients treated in the sHIVA01 clinical *** aim of this study was to evaluate the utility of DDA in pediatric *** Between 2017 and 2020,103 high-risk pediatric cancer patients(rs)were involved in our precision oncology program,and samples from 100 patients were eligible for further *** or blood samples were analyzed by whole-exome(WEs)or targeted panel sequencing and other molecular diagnostic modalities and processed by a software system using the DDA algorithm for therapeutic decision ***,a molecular tumor board(MTB)evaluated the results to provide therapy *** Of the 100 cases with comprehensive molecular diagnostic data,88 yielded WEs and 12 panel sequencing *** identified matching off-label targeted treatment options(actionability)in 72/100 cases(72%),while 57/100(57%)showed potential drug *** reached 88%(29/33)by 2020 due to the continuous updates of the evidence *** approved the clinical use of a DDA-top-listed treatment in 56 of 72 actionable cases(78%).The approved therapies had significantly higher aggregated evidence levels(AELs)than dismissed *** of WEs results for targeted panels missed important mutations affecting therapy *** DDA is a promising approach to overcome challenges associated with the interpretation of extensive molecular profiling in the routine car

A series of MgO-based adsorbents were prepared through solution–combustion synthesis and ball-milling *** prepared MgO-based powders were characterized using X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscopy,N_2 physisorption measurements,and employed as potential adsorbents for CO_2 *** influence of structural and textural properties of these adsorbents over the CO_2 adsorption behaviour was also *** results showed that MgO-based products prepared by solution–combustion and ball-milling processes,were highly porous,fluffy,nanocrystalline structures in nature,which are unique physico-chemical properties that significantly contribute to enhance their CO_2 *** was found that the MgO synthesized by solution combustion process,using a molar ratio of urea to magnesium nitrate（2：1）,and treated by ball-milling during 2.5 hr（MgO-BM2.5h）,exhibited the maximum CO_2 adsorption capacity of 1.611 mmol/g at 25℃ and 1 atm,mainly via *** CO_2 adsorption behaviour on the MgO-based adsorbents was correlated to their improved specific surface area,total pore volume,pore size distribution and *** reusability of synthesized MgO-BM2.5h was confirmed by five consecutive CO_2adsorption–desorption times,without any significant loss of performance,that supports the potential of MgO-based *** results confirmed that the special features of MgO prepared by solution–combustion and treated by ball-milling during 2.5 hr are favorable to be used as effective MgO-based adsorbent in post-combustion CO_2 capture technologies.

Background The increase in the frequency and intensity of droughts is pointed out as one of the main factors altering biogeochemical cycles in the Amazon *** eco-nutritional approach using X-ray fluorescence micro-analysis(μXrF)is proposed to verify the long-and short-term effects of droughts on the growth and xylem nutrient concentrations of Cedrela fissilis *** Fourteen radii were selected from a tree-ring width chronology and X-rayed by Itrax *** of ring width,wood density,and concentrations of aluminum(Al),phosphorus(P),sulfur(s),calcium(Ca),potassium(K),manganese(Mn),iron(Fe)and strontium(sr)together with Al/Ca,Ca/Mn,K/Ca,sr/Ca and Mn/s ratios were constructed and correlated with precipitation,temperature,the difference between precipitation and potential evapotranspiration(P-PET)and standardized precipitation-evapotranspiration index(sPEI).results During dry years,*** showed narrower,less dense rings,lower Al,P,s and Ca,and higher K and Fe concentrations(the opposite was found in wet years).ring width decreased(together with Al,P,s,K,Ca,Mn,Fe,sr,Al/Ca,K/Ca and sr/Ca)and wood density increased(together with Ca/Mn and Mn/s),which was associated with an increase in evapotranspiration and temperature over time,mainly since *** fissilis showed a tendency to increase its capacity for resistance,and a recovery and resilience in growth over time associated with responses in Al,Ca,P and ***,it showed a risk in the capacity for recovery of the pre-drought density values,associated with unsatisfactory responses in Al,Ca,K,Fe and *** This study is the first attempt to analyze tree-ring nutritional evidences of *** trees to climate sensitivity and resilience to drought,based on long-term data from seasonal moist tropical forests of the *** data suggested that *** is undergoing alterations in the concentration,use and redistribution of nutrients associated with increasing wood density and d

since there are some signs of land degradation and desertification showing how soil sustainability is threatened, it is crucial to create a soil quality index(sQI) model in the semi-arid ?orum Basin, situated between the Black sea and Anatolia region, Central Turkey. The primary aims of the study are:(1) to determine sQI values of the micro-basin in terms of land degradation and ***, the best-worst method(BWM) was used to determine the weighting score for each parameter;(2) to produce the soils' spatial distribution by utilizing different geostatistical models and GIs(geographic information system) techniques;and(3) to validate the obtained sQI values with biomass reflectance values. Therefore, the relationship of rE-OsAVI(red-edge optimized soil-adjusted vegetation index) and NDVI(normalized difference vegetation index) generated from sentinel-2A satellite images at different time series with soil quality was examined. results showed that sQI values were high in the areas that had almost a flat and slight slope. Moreover, the areas with high clay content and thick soil depth did not have salinity problems, and were generally distributed in the middle parts of the basin. However, the areas with a high slope, poor vegetation, high sand content, and low water holding capacity had low sQI ***, a statistically high positive correlation of rE-OsAVI and NDVI indices with soil quality was found, and NDVI had the highest correlative value for June(r~2=0.802) compared with rE-OsAVI.

The integration of GaN-based light-emitting diodes(LEDs)onto flexible platforms provides opportunities for conformal lighting,wearable electronics,and bendable *** this technology may enhance the functionality of the light source,the development of flexible GaN LEDs suffers from performance degradation,when mechanical bending is applied during operation.A unique approach to eliminate the degradation employs dot-in-wire structures,using cylindrical light-emitting heterostructures that protrude above the flexible platform,separating the active light-emitting region from the bending ***,we demonstrate the optical enhancement of nanowire light emitters by changing the geometric orientation within a 1×1 mm^(2) array of nanowires on a flexible platform through bending of the substrate *** flexible structures were achieved by transferring GaN nanowire LEDs from sapphire substrates onto flexible polyethylene terephthalate(PET)using a“paste-and-cut”integration *** I–V characteristics of the nanowire LEDs showed negligible change after integration onto the PET,with a turn-on voltage of 2.5 V and a forward current of 400μA at 4 V.A significant advantage for the nanowire devices on PET was demonstrated by tilting the LEDs through substrate bending that increased the electroluminescence(EL)intensity,while the I–V characteristics and the EL peak position remained *** finite-element analysis and three-dimensional finite-difference time-domain modeling,it was determined that tilting the protruding devices changed the effective distance between the structures,enhancing their electromagnetic coupling to increase light output without affecting the electrical properties or peak emission wavelength of the LEDs.

Background: Neutropenic sepsis is a frequent complication of cytotoxic chemotherapy delivered for cancer patients. Its management is well determined by clinical guidelines. Non-neutropenic sepsis is another potential complication in cancer patients. Its management is less established in the medical literature. Materials and Methods: Three cases are presented to illustrate favourable evolution of non-neutropenic biliary-, uro- and bronchogenic-sepsis in cancer patients with poor prognosis. results: All three patients had a survival over six months after the management of the septic complication. Two of them received subsequent systemic anticancer treatment. Conclusions: survival benefit offered by the management of cancer-related non-neutropenic sepsis may be comparable to the benefit obtained by systemic anticancer treatments. Cost-effectiveness of sepsis management may be better than that of anticancer treatments.
