A novel diurnal and seasonal variation analysis of BTEX in Bengaluru urban area

In the urban atmosphere of Bengaluru, various volatile organic compounds(VOCs), particularly Benzene,Toluene, Ethylbenzene, and Xylene(BTEX), have shown an increasing trend in concentration. The present research was conducted during summer and monsoon seasons, focusing on Kadubeesanahalli, a high-traffic area within the Bengaluru Metropolitan City. Hourly sample data was collected using a BTEX analyzer(Model GC955-600) and subsequently transformed into daily, monthly, and seasonal values. The study revealed distinct patterns in benzene concentrations. Benzene levels were lowest during the early morning hours, specifically from 1:00 *** 7:00 a.m.. Concentrations then increased from 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and again from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.,corresponding to the morning and evening peak traffic hours. However, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., the concentration decreased due to reduced traffic levels. These diurnal variations in benzene concentration are influenced by meteorological parameters. Comparing the two seasons, higher concentrations of Benzene, EthylBenzene, and MP-xylene were observed during the summer season. This increase is attributed to the elevated temperatures during summer, which promote the vaporization of BTEX compounds. Conversely, lower BTEX concentrations were recorded during the monsoon season due to the wet deposition process. The observed positive correlation(r > 0.5) among BTEX parameters strongly suggests a common source, most likely originating from vehicular emissions.

Paraneoplastic Leukocytosis and Thrombocytosis as Prognostic Biomarkers in Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Background and Objectives: Search for inexpensive laboratory markers have identified associations between blood counts and lung cancer outcomes. In this study, we evaluated the prognostic value of paraneoplastic leukocytosis(p-Leukocytosis) and paraneoplastic thrombocytosis(p-Thrombocytosis) in patients with non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC). We also studied their relation to the expression of commonly detected molecular markers. Methods: We conducted a retrospective chart review on 571 consecutive NSCLC patients over a 10 year period. Blood counts were recorded at the time of cancer diagnosis. Kaplan-Meier survival curves were used to compare overall survival(OS) between patients with and without p-Leukocytosis(or) p-Thrombocytosis(p-Leuko/Thrombocytosis). Cox regression was used to determine if leukocytosis/thrombocytosis was a predictor of OS in ***: Patients with p-Leukocytosis and p-Thrombocytosis had a significantly poorer survival compared patients with normal blood counts(Priate survival analysis, both continued to correlate even when adjusted for histology, gender, stage and chemotherapy(Prespectively). Stage I and II NSCLC with p-Leuko/Thrombocytosis did not perform poorly compared to stage I/II NSCLC patients without paraneoplasia. Patients with the combined leukothrombocytosis syndrome did not have worse outcomes compared to those with either paraneoplastic syndrome alone. Conclusions: p-Leuko/Thrombocytosis is an accessible laboratory parameter of prognostic value in NSCLC. Evidence of p-Leuko/Thrombocytosis portends poor survival. The role of various cytokines in tumor pathobiology provides a rationale for identifying cytokine factors responsible for the paraneoplasia and administering anti-cytokine therapies alongside traditional chemotherapy in an attempt to improve survival outcomes in these subset of patients.

A comparative analysis of distal locked and unlocked long proximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA-II) in the fixation of stable intertrochanteric fractures

A Case Series on Central Core Disease in Pregnancy

Congenital myopathies are a group of minimally progressive or non-progressive neuromuscular conditions which is present from birth. A classical type of congenital myopathy is called central core disease. This condition is often confused with muscular dystrophy. Central core disease can be associated with comorbidities which affect pregnancy and its management. In this case series, we describe two cases, who are siblings affected by the same condition but at varied levels and their management during pregnancy. We also would like to illustrate a management plan for congenital myopathy during pregnancy, for a good maternal and fetal outcome.

纤维增强复合材料（Fiber reinforced Polymer,FrP）具有抗拉强度高、强重比高、耐腐蚀性好等优异性能。使用FrP筋替代混凝土结构中的钢筋,可以解决钢筋混凝土结构的腐蚀问题。但由于FrP筋是一种线弹性材料,仅配置FrP筋作为纵筋的混凝土梁破坏形式为脆性破坏。同时由于FrP筋弹性模量较低、粘结性能较弱,结构易于产生较大的变形与裂缝。因此,研究人员提出在混凝土梁中同时配置线弹性的FrP筋与弹塑性的钢筋以提升混凝土梁的受弯性能。目前的FrP筋相关研究多集中于CFrP与GFrP,而对AFrP的相关研究还比较少。AFrP的弹性模量高,耐磨性好,适合作为混凝土结构的筋材。本文通过建立有限元模型,研究了同时配置AFrP筋与钢筋作为受拉筋的混凝土梁的受弯性能,并分析了其破坏模式与承载能力。本文的研究内容如下:（1）基于现有试验研究的几何属性与材料性能,建立了混合配筋混凝土梁的有限元模型。数值模拟的结果表明,本文所建立的模型准确性较高,可以预测混合配筋混凝土梁的受弯承载力,可以近似反映其荷载-跨中位移关系（2）基于有限元模型,分析了混凝土抗压强度、纵筋种类、纵筋直径与混合配筋率对混合配筋混凝土梁抗弯性能的影响规律。（3）依据混凝土梁破坏时钢筋、FrP筋、受压区混凝土的不同状态,划分了混合配筋混凝土梁受弯破坏的三种不同破坏模式,并分别给出了界定不同破坏模式的FrP筋与钢筋的界限配筋率。

Percutaneous administration of “Orthobiologics” offers the advantage of accelerated and functional recovery of musculoskeletal disorders. Stem cell optimizes the biological healing of diseases. The regenerative capacity of mesenchymal stem cells provides a pavement for clinicians to build up an organ of interest in vitro. Mesenchymal stem cells remain the perfect cell based tissue regeneration modality for treatment of musculoskeletal disorders in a minimally invasive environment without any significant morbidity. This article outlines the applications of mesenchymal stem cell administration in various musculoskeletal disorders.
