This paper describes various aspects of the design methodology and heat transfer calculations for an elevated linear absorber. The absorber is a part of the linear Fresnel reflector solar concentrator system, in which hot fluid is generated. The design of the absorber is an inverted trapezoidal air cavity with a glass cover enclosing a multi tube absorber. In a trapezoidal cavity absorber, a set of linear multi tube absorber with plate(named as "plane surface") and without plate(named as "tube surface") underneath are considered. An analytical simulation is done for different gaps between the tubes and for different depths of the cavity. A better design of the absorber is found out to maximize the heat transfer rate supplied to the absorber tube fluid. Also, the experimentally obtained overall heat loss coefficients are compared with the analytical values for the considered arrangements of absorber set up and results are discussed in details.

In 2018,the Government of India approved the establishment of the New All India Institute of Medical Sciences(AIIMS)in Thoppur,Madurai,Tamil Nadu,*** the most important amenity for continuing primary care and rescue response is a healthcare facility,a secure electricity supply becomes an imperative ***,as the energy supplier for the new AIIMS,Madurai,this paper proposes a microgrid combined with the utility *** microgrid consists of a 4-MW photovoltaic system,a 1.8-MW wind-turbine energy-conversion system,a backup diesel generator capable of meeting the forecasted maximum demand and a 1-MW battery energy-storage *** AIIMS Microgrid will have a service providing a capacity of 20 MVA following integration with the utility *** proposed microgrid would be the first attempt at healthcare facilities in India since its first day of work to ensure the availability of *** would have a 9.8%return on investment,a 13.6%internal rate of return and a payback period of 6.75 years once it is operational,as well as an attractive levelized cost of energy(LCOE)of USD 0.07547/*** would provide an environmentally friendly atmosphere by avoiding an annual emission of 6261132 kg of carbon dioxide,27362 kg of sulphur dioxide and 12838 kg of nitrogen oxides as compared to power supplied entirely from the utility grid.

Cerium incorporated KIT-6 mesoporous materials were synthesized through direct hydrothermal method and characterized by using X-ray diffraction （XrD）, nitrogen sorption isotherm （BET）, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-Ir）, inductively coupled plasma - atomic emission spectroscopy （ICP-AES）, diffuse reflectance ultraviolet visible spectroscopy （DrS-UV-Vis）, ther- mogravimetric analysis （TGA）, scanning electron microscopy （SEM） and transmission electron microscopy （TEM） methods. It ap- peared that stable cerium ions were inserted into the silica framework of KIT-6, thus generating acid properties in their host materials. The catalytic activity of Ce-KIT-6 materials was evaluated in the vapor phase dehydration of cyclohexanol to cyclohexene and dicy- clohexyl ether at different temperatures with various Si/Ce molar ratios. Ce-KIT-6 （25） showed higher activity with 54% cyclohexa- nol conversion and 64% selectivity to cyclohexene. The catalytic results indicated that Ce-KIT-6 mesoporous materials could be used as versatile and stable acid catalysts.

In the present study an attempt has been made to investigate the relationship between the variations in the fouling assemblage and corrosion behaviour of HSLA steel at three coastal locations in the Gulf of Mannar, India, over a period of 24 months. Oyster fouling was dominant in the Tuticorin open sea, while barnacles were the major foulants in the Tuticorin harbour and Mandapam. The fouling load in the Tuticorin waters was higher when compared to the Mandapam waters. The corrosion rates decreased progressively with the immersion time at all three test locations. In the Tuticorin open sea, the corrosion rates were higher when compared to the other two locations throughout the study period. The surface of the coupons was characterized by crevices beneath the hard foulers in the Tuticorin harbour and Mandapam, whereas in the Tuticorin open sea, the coupons experienced crevices of a tunneling nature. The percentage of the loss of the tensile strength increased with time at all the test locations.

recognizing the importance of electricity as a driver of rapid economic growth and poverty alleviation,India aims to provide access to all households by *** the best efforts of state and federal governments to meet consumers’electrical needs,budget constraints,inefficient operations and massive loan burdens have hampered their *** from these concerns,rural India,which accounts for 65%of the population,is plagued by a slew of issues,including low electricity demand,a low load factor and the expectation of cheap *** concerns bind the authorities’hands,preventing them from moving *** a result,this project aims to model an autonomous microgrid system that integrates three potential renewable-energy systems,namely wind,sun and hydrokinetic,to provide electricity for a remote *** starts with assessing the region’s electricity needs with its *** HOMEr Pro platform creates a cost-effective microgrid based on the demand *** components of the microgrid include 6.4-kW small wind turbine(SWT)groups,4.4-kW solar photovoltaic(PV)panels,a 5-kW hydrokinetic water turbine,battery storage and a *** project is unique in that it considers site-specific initial capital costs,replacement costs,and operation and maintenance costs of the renewable-energy systems,and it does not include any environmentally hazardous energy *** successful optimization results in terms of levelized energy costs are$0.0538,$0.0614 and$0.0427/kWh for wind,solar and hydrokinetic components,respectively,without any environmental issues.

Selective oxidation of diphenylmethane to benzophenone requires active and selective catalysts. The framework incorporation of cerium in AlPO-5 molecular sieves creates active cerium sites in isolation. These active sites are responsible for selective oxidation. Cerium incorporated AlPO-5 with different Al/Ce ratios were synthesized, and the vapor phase oxidation of diphenylmethane in air over these catalysts was studied at 250, 275, 300, 325, and 350 °C. The diphenylmethane conversion and selectivity for benzophenone were more than 90%. CeAlPO-5(25) was found to be more active than other catalysts. The stability of the catalyst was verified by the time on stream study which indicated steady diphenylmethane conversion and benzophenone selectivity. Hence framework incorporated CeAlPO-5 molecular sieves are stable and active catalysts for the selective oxidation of diphenylmethane.

Microporous Hypercross-linked Conjugated Quinonoid Chromophores of Anthracene: Novel Polymers for CO_2 Adsorption

Microporous hypercross-linked conjugated quinonoid chromophores represent a novel class of amorphous polymers, synthesized by the reaction of anthracene with dimethoxy methane in the presence of FeCl3 catalyst. Their N2 adsorption isotherms confirm their microporous nature. Diffuse reflectance UV-Visible（DrS UV-Vis） spectroscopy confirms their matrix built with the conjugated quinonoids by their broad light absorption characteristics extending from 1000 nm to 200 nm with the absorbance maximum close to 400 nm. The catalyst cross-linked anthracene with ―CH2― bridges and subsequently dehydrogenating them to form quinonoids. Their Fourier transform infrared（FTIr） spectra showed their characteristic quinonoid vibrations between 1600 and 1700 cm-1. The synthesis of polymers was carried out at 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80 ℃, but the quinonoid content of the polymer obtained at 80 ℃ was higher than that of the others. Their scanning electron microscopy（SEM） images showed microspheres of 1 to 5 μm size built with tiny particles. Their surfaces were not smooth. The polymer synthesized at 80 ℃ showed 5.1 wt% CO2 sorption at 25 ℃ and 0.1 MPa, but when it was recross-linked, the CO2 sorption increased to 8 wt%. Hence, hypercross-linked conjugated quinonoid chromophores of anthracene are good for sorption of CO2.

Al-MCM-48 molecular sieves (Si/Al molar ratios = 25, 50, 75, and 100) were synthesized hydrothermally using cetyltrimethyl-ammonium bromide as the structure directing template. The orderly arrangement of mesopores was evident from the low angle X-ray diffraction patterns and transmission electron microscopy images. The catalytic performance of the materials was evaluated in the vapor phase isopropylation of phenol with isopropyl acetate. Phenol conversion decreased with the increase in the Si/Al ratio of the catalysts. The major reaction product was 4-isopropyl phenol with 78% selectivity. The delocalization of phenolic oxygen electron pair over the aromatic ring promoted para-selective alkylation. Such delocalization could be aided by the hydrophilic surface of the molecular sieves. Although an ester was used as the alkylating agent, phenyl isopropyl ether was not formed in the reaction.

Myogenic differentiation is accompanied by alterations in the chromatin states, which permit or restrict the transcriptional machinery and thus impact distinctive gene expression profiles. The mechanisms by which higher-order chromatin remodeling is associated with gene activation and silencing during differentiation is not fully understood. In this study, we provide evidence that the euchromatic lysine metbyltransferase GLP regulates heterocbromatin organization and myogenic differentiation. Interestingly, GLP represses expression of the methyl-binding protein MeCP2 that induces heterochromatin clustering during differentiation. Consequently, MeCP2 and HP1γ localization at major satellites are altered upon modulation of GLP expression. In GLP knockdown cells, depletion of MeCP2 restored both chromatin organization and myogenic differentiation. These results identify a novel regulatory axis between a histone methylation writer and DNA methylation reader, which is important for beterochromatin organization during differentiation.

The structural, electronic and mechanical properties of transition metal hydrides （TMH, TM=Mo, Tc, ru） are investigated by means of first principles calculation based on density fimctional theory with generalized gradient approximation. Among the five crystallographic structures that have been investigated, the cubic phase is found to be more stable than the hexagonal ones. A structural phase transition from ZB to WC in Moll, NaC1 to NiAs in TcH and NaCI to ZB to NiAs in ruH is also predicted under high pressure. The calculated elastic constants indicate that all the three hydrides are mechanically stable at ambient pressure.
