The identification of jets originating from quarks and gluons,often referred to as quark/gluon tagging,plays an important role in various analyses performed at the Large Hadron Collider,as Standard Model measurements and searches for new particles decaying to quarks often rely on suppressing a large gluon-induced *** paper describes the measurement of the efficiencies of quark/gluon taggers developed within the ATLAS Collaboration,using √s=13 TeV proton–proton collision data with an integrated luminosity of 140 fb^(-1) collected by the ATLAS *** taggers with high performances in rejecting jets from gluon over jets from quarks are studied:one tagger is based on requirements on the number of inner-detector tracks associated with the jet,and the other combines several jet substructure observables using a boosted decision tree.A method is established to determine the quark/gluon fraction in data,by using quark/gluon-enriched subsamples defined by the jet *** in tagging efficiency between data and simulation are provided for jets with transverse momentum between 500 GeV and 2 TeV and for multiple tagger working points.

Symbiotic root nodules are root lateral organs of plants in which nitrogen-fixing bacteria(rhizobia)convert atmospheric nitrogen to *** formation and number of nodules in legumes are precisely controlled by a rhizobia-induced signal cascade and host-controlled autoregulation of nodulation(AON).However,how these pathways are integrated and their underlying mechanisms are ***,we r.port that microrNA172c(mir172c)activates soybean(Glycine max)r hizobia-induced CLE1(GmrICI)and GmrIC2 by removing the transcr.ptional r.pression of these genes by Nodule Number Control 1(NNC1),leading to the activation of the AON ***1 interacts with GmNINa,the soybean ortholog of Lotus NODULE INCEpTION(NIN),and hampers its transcr.ptional activation o i G m rICI and ***,GmNINa acts as a transcr.ptional activator of ***,NNC1 can transcr.ptionally r.press mir172c expression,adding a negative feedback loop into the NNC1 regulatory ***,GmNINa interacts with NNC1 and can relieve the NNC1-mediated r.pression of mir172c ***,the GmNINa-mir172c-NNC1 network is a master switch that coordinately regulates and optimizes NF and AON signaling,supporting the balance between nodulation and AON in soybean.

Optically pumped lasers based on solution-processed thin-film gain media have recently emerged as low-cost,broadly tunable,and versatile active photonics components that can fit any substrate and are useful for,e.g.,chemo-or biosensing or visible *** single-mode operation has been demonstrated in various resonator architectures with a large variety of gain media-including dye-doped polymers,organic semiconductors,and,more recently,hybrid perovskites-the r.ported linewidths are typically on the order of a fraction of a nanometer or broader,i.e.,the coherence lengths are no longer than a few millimeters,which does not enable high-resolution spectroscopy or coherent *** linewidth is fundamentally constrained by the short photon cavity lifetime in the standard resonator *** demonstrate here a novel structure for an organic thin-film solid-state laser that is based on a vertical external cavity,wherein a hologr.phic volume Bragg grating ensures both spectral selection and output coupling in an otherwise very compact(,cm3)*** short-pulse(0.4 ns)pumping,Fourier-transform-limited laser.pulses are obtained,with a full width at half-maximum linewidth of 900 MHz(1.25 pm).Using 20-ns-long pump pulses,the linewidth can be further reduced to 200 MHz(0.26 pm),which is four times above the Fourier limit and corresponds to an unprecedented coherence length of *** concept is potentially transferrable to any type of thin-film laser and can be ultimately made tunable;it also r.presents a very compact alternative to bulky grating systems in dye lasers.

AIM: To examine the vitamin D status in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis compared to those with primary biliary cirrhosis. METHODS: Our retrospective case series comprised 89 patients with alcoholic cirrhosis and 34 patients with primary biliary cirrhosis who visited our outpatient clinic in 2005 and underwent a serum vitamin D status assessment. rESULTS: Among the patients with alcoholic cirrhosis, 85% had serum vitamin D levels below 50 nmol/L and 55% had levels below 25 nmol/L, as compared to 60% and 16% of the patients with primary biliary cirrhosis, respectively (p roups, serum vitamin D levels decreased with increasing liver disease severity, as determined by the Child-pugh score. CONCLUSION: Vitamin D deficiency in cirrhosis relates to liver dysfunction rather than aetiology, with lower levels of vitamin D in alcoholic cirrhosis than in primary biliary cirrhosis.

AIM To stably correct tyrosinaemia in proliferating livers of fumarylacetoacetate-hydrolase knockout(Fah-/-) mice by homologous-recombination-mediated targeted addition of the Fah *** C57 BL/6 Fah?exon5 mice served as an animal model for human tyrosinaemia type 1 in our study. The vector was created by amplifying human Fah c DNA including the TTr.promoter from a lentivirus plasmid as described. The Fah expression cassette was flanked by homologous arms(620 bp and 749 bp long) of the rosa26 gene locus. Mice were injected with 2.1 × 108 Vp of this vector(r ***) via the tail vein. Mice in the control group were injected with 2.1 × 108 Vp of a similar vector but missing the homologous arms(r ***). primary hepatocytes from Fah-/-recipient mice, treated with our vectors, were isolated and 1 × 106 hepatocytes were transplanted into secondary Fah-/-recipient mice by injection into the spleen. Upon either vector application or hepatocyte transplantation NTBC treatment was stopped in recipient mice. rESULTS Here, we r.port successful Hr-mediated genome editing by integration of a Fah gene expression cassette into the "safe harbour locus" rosa26 by recombinant AAV8. Both groups of mice showed long-term survival, weight gain and FAH positive clusters as determined by immunohistochemistry analysis of liver sections in the absence of NTBC treatment. In the group of C57 BL/6 Fah?exon5 mice, which have been transplanted with hepatocytes from a mouse injected with r *** 156 d before, 6 out of 6 mice showed long-term survival, weight gain and FAH positive clusters without need for NTBC treatment. In contrast only 1 out 5 mice, who received hepatocytes from r *** treated mice, survived and showed few and smaller FAH positive clusters. Introduction: Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL) is a heterogeneous group conformed by morphological and clinical varieties of neoplasms;it originates from per.pheral B-cells and is distinguished into three groups: germinal center (GC), activated B lymphocyte (ABL), and the third type. The existence of DLBCL with anaplastic morphology and expression of CD30 without t (2;5) translocation is rare. The aim of the present article is to describe this morphologic variant in a 54-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man, respectively. Materials and Methods: patients diagnosed with DLBCL with anaplastic variant were identified from the surgical pathology records. results: Out of 357 biopsies with this diagnosis, 11 (3%) corresponded to the anaplastic variant, 2 presented morphological clear cells;they became visible because of an increase in volume in the cervical area of 4 months of evolution, usually associated to diaphoresis and weight loss with clinical fulminating progression. An autopsy study was performed to one patient and it showed infiltration in supraclavicular lymph nodes, thyroid, and lung. The neoplastic cells presented abundant clear cytoplasm and pleomorphic nuclei that expressed CD20, CD30 and CD45. Conclusion: This variation is rare. The clinical presentation and prognosis are controversial;we present the morphological and immunophenotype changes of this variant. The differential diagnosis from other clear cell neoplasms should be made.

Understanding how plants respond to nitrogen in their environment is crucial for determining how they use it and how the nitrogen use affects other.processes related to plant growth and development. Under nitrogen limitation the activity and affinity of uptake systems is increased in roots, and lateral root formation is regulated in order to adapt to low nitrogen levels and scavenge from the soil. plants in the legume family can form associations with rhizobial nitrogen-fixing bacteria, and this association is tightly regulated by nitrogen levels. The effect of nitrogen on nodulation has been extensively investigated, but the effects of nodulation on plant nitrogen responses remain largely unclear. In this study, we integrated molecular and phenotypic data in the legume Medicago truncatula and determined that genes controlling nitrogen influx are differently expressed depending on whether.plants are mock or rhizobia inoculated. We found that a functional autoregulation of nodulation pathway is required for roots to perceive, take up, and mobilize nitrogen as well as for normal root development. Our results together revealed that autoregulation of nodulation, root development, and the location of nitrogen are processes balanced by the whole plant system as part of a resource-partitioning mechanism.
