＜正＞As responsible people sharing our planet we hold enormous responsibility to deal with the issues of air pollution, acid rains and climate change caused by the fossil fuel emissions. Of equal importance in the face of an uncertain energy future is the last of the dwindling supply of fossil fuel. china, the world’s fastest growing economy, is encountering rapidly growing demands for energy and personal transportation. These demands have created tremendous pressure on china in the form of petroleum shortages, including polluted and congested cities, and corrosion caused by acid *** is clean, sustainable fuel, which can be generated locally. It is recognized as the ultimate freedom fuel in the 21st century. The general consensus is that the transition from a fossil fuel economy to a hydrogen economy is *** industrial countries, in the past century, have become overly dependent on fossil fuels. Huge investments in the petroleum industry have been made to explore, extract, refine, and deliver gasoline. consumers, especially in the US, have grown accustomed to personal vehicles with power, performance, and range. In the near term, the desires of consumers for high power and long range would be compromised somewhat if hydrogen were used as the fuel for their vehicles. Therefore, for the majority of western consumers （and necessarily the vehicle manufacturers and suppliers）, there is tremendous inertia which combined with the perceived burden of inconvenience, creates significant resistance to implementing the much needed and inevitable hydrogen economy. In dramatic comparison, the problem （or perceived problem） in transition would be less in *** this paper, we explain why china needs the new energy technology and has the best potential to leap-frog the fossil fuel economy to lead the world in building a brand new hydrogen industry from the infrastructure foundation upward. china’s attractive geographic topography and abundant water resources

We consider dual Toeplitz operators on the orthogonal complements of the FockSobolev spaces of all nonnegative real ***,for symbols in a certain class containing all bounded functions,we study the problem of when an operator which is finite sums of the dual Toeplitz products is compact or ***,for bounded symbols,we construct a symbol map and exhibit a short exact sequence associated with the c^(*)-algebra generated by all dual Toeplitz operators with bounded symbols.

Prevalence and risk factors of wound complications after transtibial amputation in patients with diabetic foot

BAcKGrOUND Diabetic foot(DMF)complications are common and are increasing in *** factors related to wound complications are yet to be established after transtibial amputation under the diagnosis of DMF *** To analyze the prognosis and risk factors related to wound complications after transtibial amputation in patients with *** This retrospective cohort study included seventy-two patients with DMF complications who underwent transtibial amputation between April 2014 and March *** groups were categorized based on the occurrence of wound complications,and we compared demographic data between the complication group and the non-complication group to analyze risk ***,a multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed to identify risk *** The average follow-up period was 36.2 *** the 72 cases,31(43.1%)had wound *** these,12 cases(16.7%)received further treatment,such as debridement,soft tissue stump revision,and re-amputation at the proximal *** a group that required further management due to wound complications after transtibial amputation,the hemoglobin A1c(HbA1c)level was 9.32,while the other group that did not require any treatment had a 7.54 HbA1c *** prevalence of a history of kidney transplantation with wound complications after transtibial amputation surgery in DMF patients was significantly greater than in cases without wound complications(P=0.02).Other factors did not show significant *** Approximately 43.1%of the patients with transtibial amputation surgery experienced wound complications,and 16.7%required additional surgical *** HbA1c levels and kidney transplant history are risk factors for postoperative wound complications.

Most organic electrode materials （OEMs） for rechargeable batteries employ n-type redox centers, whose redox potentials are intrinsically limited rsus Li+/Li. However, p-type materials possessing high redox potentials experience low specific capacities because they are capable of only a single redox reaction within the stable electrochemical window of typical ***, we report 5,11-diethyl-5,11-dihydroindolo[3,2-b]carbazole （DEIcZ） as a novel p-type OEM, exhibiting stable plateaus at high discharge potentials of3.44 and 4.09 V versus Li+/Li. Notably, the second redox potential of DEIcZ is within the stable electrochemical window. The mechanism of the double redox reaction is investigated using both theoretical calculations and experimental measurements, including density functional theory calculations, ex situ electron spin resonance, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Finally,hybridization with single-walled carbon nanotubes （SWcNT） improves the cycle stability and rate performance of DEIcZ owing to theπ–πinteractions between the SWcNT and co-planar molecular structure of DEIcZ, preventing the dissolution of active materials into the electrolyte. The DEIcZ/SWcNT composite electrode maintains 70.4%of its initial specific capacity at 1-c rate and also exhibits high-rate capability, even performing well at 100-c rate.

coordinated morphogenic adaptation of growing plants is critical for their survival and propagation under fluctuating *** morphogenic responses to light and warm temperatures,termed photomorphogenesis and thermomorphogenesis,respectively,have been extensively studied in recent *** photomorphogenesis,plants actively reshape their growth and developmental patterns to cope with changes in light ***,photomorphogenesis is closely associated with diverse growth hormonal ***,accumulating evidence indicates that light-directed morphogenesis is profoundly affected by two recently identified phytochemicals,karrikins(KArs)and strigolactones(SLs).KArs and SLs are structurally related butenolides acting as signaling molecules during a variety of developmental steps,including seed *** receptors and signaling mediators have been identified,and associated working mechanisms have been explored using gene-deficient mutants in various plant *** particular interest is that the KAr and SL signaling pathways play important roles in environmental responses,among which their linkages with photomorphogenesis are most comprehensively studied during seedling *** this review,we focus on how the phytochemical and light signals converge on the optimization of morphogenic *** also discuss molecular mechanisms underlying the signaling crosstalks with an aim of developing potential ways to improve crop productivity under climate changes.

Tuning the reactivity of TiO_(2)layer with uniform distribution of Sub-5 nm Fe_(2)O_(3)particles via in situ voltage-assisted oxidation for robust catalytic reduction

The trade-off between efficiency and stability has limited the application of TiO_(2)as a catalyst due to its poor surface ***,we present a modification of a TiO_(2)layer with highly stable Sub-5 nm Fe_(2)O_(3)nanoparticles(NP)by modulating its structure-surface reactivity relationship to attain efficiency-stability balance via a voltage-assisted oxidation *** situ simultaneous oxidation of the Ti substrate and Fe precursor using high-energy plasma driven by high voltage resulted in uniform distribution of Fe_(2)O_(3)NP embedded within porous TiO_(2)*** surface characterizations with density functional theory demonstrated an improved electronic transition in TiO_(2)due to the presence of surface defects from reactive oxygen species and possible charge transfer from Ti to Fe;it also unexpectedly increased the active site in the TiO_(2)layer due to uncoordinated electrons in Sub-5 nm Fe_(2)O_(3)NP/TiO_(2)catalyst,thereby enhancing the adsorption of chemical functional groups on the *** unique embedded structure exhibited remarkable improvement in reducing 4-nitrophenol to 4-aminophenol,achieving approximately 99%efficiency in 20 min without stability decay after 20 consecutive cycles,outperforming previously reported TiO_(2)-based *** finding proposes a modified-electrochemical strategy enabling facile construction of TiO_(2)with nanoscale oxides extandable to other metal oxide systems.
