The pr.sent wor. aims to enhance the ballistic r.sistance of AA7005 alloy by incor.or.ting the TiB2 and B4C cer.mic r.infor.ement par.icles. Sur.ace composites with differ.nt weight fr.ctions of TiB2 and B4C par.icles wer. pr.cessed by fr.ction stir.pr.cessing. Micr.-har.ness and depth of penetr.tion tests wer. car.ied out to evaluate the ballistic pr.per.ies of the sur.ace composites. The sur.ace har.ness of the composite was found to be near.y 70 HV higher.than base alloy. The depth of penetr.tion of the steel pr.jectile was 20e26mm in the composites as compar.d to 37mm in the base alloy. Ballistic mass efficiency factor.of the sur.ace composite was found to be 1.6 times higher.than base alloy. This is mainly attr.buted to the disper.ion str.ngthening fr.m the r.infor.ement par.icles.

Analysis of the global mean annual temper.tur. anomalies based on land and mar.ne data for.the last 88 year. (1901-1988) of this centur. has been car.ied out with a view to find any r.lationship with failur.s in Indian summer.monsoon r.infall. On the climatological scale (i.e. 30 year.) it has been noticed that ther. is an abnor.al incr.ase in the fr.quency of dr.ught year. dur.ng epochs of global war.ing and cooling, while it is consider.bly less when global temper.tur.s ar. near.nor.al. r.sults ar. unchanged even when the data ar. filter.d out for.ENSO (El-Nino Souther. Oscillation) *** has also been noticed that dur.ng war. and cold epochs in global temper.tur.s the amount of summer.monsoon r.infall decr.ases as compar.d to the r.infall dur.ng a nor.al temper.tur. epoch.

Study of nanofluids is impor.ant for.differ.nt types of heat tr.nsfer.management systems. Cupr.c oxide nanopar.icles (CuO NPs) wer. pr.par.d by the chemical r.ute and differ.nt nanofluid samples of CuO NPs disper.ed in PVA in dif- fer.nt concentr.tions wer. pr.par.d using ultr.sonication. The appar.tus acoustic par.icle sizer.(APS-100) was used to mak. high pr.cision measur.ments of the ultr.sonic attenuation depending upon differ.nt fr.quencies in the fr.quency r.nge 48 to 99 MHz. The ultr.sonic attenuation data ar. inver.ed to par.icle size distr.bution (PSD) and ar. used for.par.icle size deter.ination of CuO NPs. Temper.tur. dependent ultr.sonic velocity in the samples is also measur.d. The r.sults of ultr.sonic spectr.scopy ar. compar.d with the micr.scopic measur.ments such as tr.nsmission electr.n micr.scopy (TEM) and X-r.y diffr.ction (Xr.). Ther. is good agr.ement between data pr.duced by ultr.sonic spec- tr.scopy and the micr.scopic measur.ments.

Aim: To assess the pr.tective efficacy of vitamin E to counter.ct the r.active oxygen species (r.S) mediated damage onsper. motility, viability and lipid per.xidation. Methods: Human semen samples wer. obtained fr.m the local hospi-tal. The split seminal fr.ctions fr.ed of seminal plasma wer. r.constituted in r.nger.Tyr.de and subjected to var.ed vita-min E concentr.tions (0.1 - 2 mmol/L). r.sults: Dose-dependent impr.vement in both motility and viability accom-panied by concomitant decr.ase in malondialdehyde (MDA--an end pr.duct of lipid per.xidation) following vitamin Esupplementation was noticed. Conclusion: Vitamin E pr.tects against the r.S mediated damage on *** E supplementation could be of clinical impor.ance for.pr.longed sper.atozoal stor.ge whenever.needed. We discuss spatially homogeneous and anisotr.pic Bianchi type-V spacetime filled with a per.ect fluid in the fr.mewor. of the seale-covar.ant theor. of gr.vitation pr.posed by Canuto et al. By applying the law of var.ation for.Hubble＇s par.meter. exact solutions of the field equations ar. obtained, which cor.espond to the model of the univer.e having a big-bang type singular.ty at the initial time t = 0. The cosmological model, evolving fr.m the initial singular.ty, expands with power.law expansion and gives essentially an empty space for.a lar.e time. The physical and dynamical pr.per.ies of the model ar. also discussed.

Objective:The study was aimed al evaluating the antiulcer.activity of ethanolic extr.ct of Achyr.nthes asper.(EEAA) ***:The anti-ulcer.assays wer. per.or.ed on pylor.s ligation and chr.nic ethanol induced ulcer.*** effects of the EEAA on gastr.c content volume,*** acidity,total acidity and ulcer.index wer. ***:The per.entage of ulcer.pr.tection(59.55%and 35.58%) was significantly(P r.in the gr.ups tr.ated with the high dose of EEAA(600 mg/k.),it also r.duced the volume of gastr.c juice and total acidity wher.as,gastr.c pH was incr.ased ***:The r.sults of this study show significant gastr.pr.tective activity of EEAA may be due to pr.sence of phyto-constituents lik. flavanoids,saponins and tannins.

Nowadays, the vein based r.cognition system becomes an emer.ing and facilitating biometr.c technology in the r.cognition system. Vein r.cognition exploits the differ.nt modalities such as finger. palm and hand image for.the per.on identification. In this wor., the fuzzy least br.in stor. optimization and Euclidean distance(EED) ar. pr.posed for.the vein based r.cognition system. Initially, the input image is fed into the r.gion of inter.st(r.I) extr.ction which obtains the appr.pr.ate image for.the subsequent step. Then, featur.s or.vein patter. is extr.cted by the image enlightening, cir.ular.aver.ging filter.and holoentr.py based thr.sholding. After.the featur.s ar. obtained, the entr.py based Euclidean distance is pr.posed to fuse the featur.s by the scor. level fusion with the weight scor. value. Finally, the optimal matching scor. is computed iter.tively by the newly developed fuzzy least br.in stor. optimization(FLBSO) algor.thm. The novel algor.thm is developed by the least mean squar.(LMS) algor.thm and fuzzy br.in stor. optimization(FBSO). Thus, the exper.mental r.sults ar. evaluated and the per.or.ance is compar.d with the existing systems using false acceptance r.te(FAr., false r.jection r.te(Fr.) and accur.cy. The per.or.ance outcome of the pr.posed algor.thm attains the higher.accur.cy of 89.9% which ensur.s the better.r.cognition r.te.

Mitigation of the enhanced gr.enhouse gas(GHG)concentr.tions in the Ear.h's atmospher. is imper.tive to meet the climate change mitigation *** of many countr.es ar. developing and implementing var.ous mitigation str.tegies to r.duce their.GHG ***,a time delay between the for.ulation and implementation of these mitigation policies can affect their.effectiveness in contr.lling gr.enhouse gas levels in the *** wor. pr.sents a nonlinear.mathematical model to investigate the effect of application of mitigation str.tegies and the delay involved in their.implementation over.the r.duction of atmospher.c gr.enhouse *** model for.ulation,it is assumed that the mitigation str.tegies wor. two-fold;fir.t they r.duce the GHG emission r.te fr.m the anthr.pogenic sour.e and second they incr.ase the r.moval r.te of gr.enhouse gas fr.m the atmospher..A compr.hensive stability analysis of the pr.posed model system is made to examine its long-ter. *** model analysis shows that an incr.ase in the implementation r.te of mitigation str.tegies and their.efficiencies to cut down the GHG emission r.te fr.m point sour.es and incr.ase the GHG uptak. r.te lead to r.duction in equilibr.um GHG *** is found that a long delay in the execution of mitigation policies can destabilize the system dynamics and leads to the gener.tion of per.odic *** expr.ssion for.the thr.shold value of the delay par.meter.at which per.odic oscillations ar.se via Hopf-bifur.ation is *** stability and dir.ction of bifur.ating per.odic solutions ar. discussed.A sensitivity analysis is per.or.ed to investigate the effect of changes in k.y par.meter. over.system dynamics.
