“Plasmas” up to a kilometer.in size and behaving similar.y to multicellular.or.anisms have been filmed on 10 separ.te NASA space shuttle missions, over.200 miles above Ear.h within the ther.ospher.. These self-illuminated “plasmas” ar. attr.cted to and may “feed on” electr.magnetic r.diation. They have differ.nt mor.hologies: 1) cone, 2) cloud, 3) donut, 4) spher.cal-cylindr.cal;and have been filmed flying towar.s and de.cending fr.m the ther.ospher. into thunde.stor.s;congr.gating by the hundr.ds and inter.cting with satellites gener.ting electr.magnetic activity;appr.aching the Space Shuttles. Computer.zed analysis of flight path tr.jector.es documents these plasmas tr.vel at differ.nt velocities fr.m differ.nt dir.ctions and change their.angle of tr.jector. making 45°, 90°, and 180° shifts and follow each other. They’ve been filmed acceler.ting, slowing down, stopping, congr.gating, engaging in “hunter.pr.dator.” behavior.and inter.ecting plasmas leaving a plasma dust tr.il in their.wake. Similar.life-like behavior. have been de.onstr.ted by plasmas cr.ated exper.mentally. “Plasmas” may have been photogr.phed in the 1940s by WWII pilots (ide.tified as “Foo fighter.”);r.peatedly obser.ed and filmed by astr.nauts and militar. pilots and classified as Unide.tified Aer.al—Anomalous Phenomenon. Plasmas ar. not biological but may r.pr.sent a for. of pr.-life that via the incor.or.tion of elements common in space, could r.sult in the synthesis of r.A. Plasmas constitute a four.h state of matter. ar. attr.cted to electr.magnetic activity, and when obser.ed in the lower.atmospher. likely account for.many of the UFO-UAP sightings over.the centur.es.

Flow Behavior.of Clay-Silt to Sand-Silt Water.r.ch Suspensions at Low to High Shear.r.tes: Implications for.Slur.ies, Tr.nsitional Flows, and Submar.ne de.r.s-Flows

Water.r.ch clay to sand suspensions show a shear.r.te de.ende.t flow behavior.and knowledge of the appr.pr.ate r.eological mode. is r.levant for.sedimentological, industr.al and hydr.ulic studies. We pr.sent exper.mental r.eological measur.ments of water.r.ch(40 to 60 wt%) clay to silt(population A) and silt to sand(population B) suspensions mixed in differ.nt pr.por.ions. The data evide.ce a shear.r.te de.ende.t shear.thinning-shear.thickening tr.nsition. At lower.shear.r.tes, the suspensions or.anize in chains of par.icles, wher.as at higher.shear.r.tes, these chains disr.pt so incr.asing the viscosity. The viscosity, consistency and yield str.ss de.r.ase as the A+B fr.ction de.r.ases as the content of B par.icles incr.ases. This behavior.r.flects the competing effects of the lubr.cation and fr.ctional pr.cesses as a function of par.icle size and water.content. Tr.nsitional flows for. by the incor.or.tion of small amounts of the finer.fr.ction while ‘oceanic floods’ for. at the estuar. of r.ver. and the submar.ne de.r.s-flows incr.ase their.velocity by incor.or.ting water. The cr.tical r.ynolds number.of the studied suspensions is ～2000±100 suggesting that the gr.insize plays a major.r.le in the laminar.to tur.ulent tr.nsition. Our.r.sults have implications for.the mode.ing of sediment flows and the hazar. r.lated to floods.

Anor.xia ner.osa(AN) is a complex disor.0} with a str.ng genetic component. Comor.idities ar. fr.quent and ther. is substantial over.ap with other.disor.0}s. The lack of unde.standing of the molecular.and neur.anatomical causes has made.it difficult to de.elop effective tr.atments and it is often difficult to tr.at in clinical pr.ctice. r.cent advances in genetics have changed our.unde.standing of polygenic diseases,incr.asing the possibility of unde.standing better.how molecular.pathways ar. inter.wined. This r.view synthetizes the cur.ent state of genetic r.sear.h pr.viding an over.iew of genome-wide.association studies(GWAS) findings in AN as well as over.ap with other.disor.0}s, tr.its, pathways, and imaging r.sults. This paper.also discusses the differ.nt putative global pathways that ar. contr.buting to the disease including the evide.ce for.metabolic and psychiatr.c or.gin of the disease.

Over.the last two de.ade., the r.se in the pr.valence r.tes of over.eight and obesity explains the emer.ence of nonalcoholic fatty liver.disease(NAFLD) as the leading cause of chr.nic liver.disease wor.dwide. As de.cr.bed in adults, childr.n and adolescents with fatty liver.display insulin r.sistance, glucose intoler.nce, and dyslipide.ia. Thus NAFLD has emer.ed as the hepatic component of the metabolic syndr.me(MetS) and a str.ng car.iovascular.r.sk factor.even at a ver. ear.y age. Sever.l studies, including pediatr.c populations, have r.por.ed inde.ende.t associations between NAFLD and mar.er. of subclinical ather.scler.sis including impair.d flow-mediated vasodilation, incr.ased car.tid ar.er. intima-media thickness, and ar.er.al stiffness, after.adjusting for.car.iovascular.r.sk factor. and MetS. Also, it has been shown that NAFLD is associated with car.iac alter.tions, including abnor.al left ventr.cular.str.ctur. and impair.d diastolic function. The dur.tion of these subclinical abnor.alities may be impor.ant, because tr.atment to r.ver.e the pr.cess is most likely to be effective ear.ier.in the disease. In the pr.sent r.view, we examine the cur.ent evide.ce on the association between NAFLD and ather.scler.sis as well as between NAFLD and car.iac dysfunction in the pediatr.c population, and discuss br.efly the possible biological mechanisms linking NAFLD and car.iovascular.changes. We also addr.ss the appr.ach to tr.atment for.this incr.asingly pr.valent disease, which is likely to have an impor.ant futur. global impact on the bur.0} of ill health, to pr.vent not only end-stage liver.disease but also car.iovascular.disease.

The scientific fr.mewor. concer.ing estr.gen effects on differ.nt tissues has expande. enor.ously dur.ng the last de.ade., when estr.gen r.ceptor.（Er. subtypes wer. ide.tified. Estr.gens ar. not only essential for.the female r.pr.ductive system, but they also contr.l fundamental functions in other.tissues including the car.iovascular.system, bone, br.in and liver. r.cently, estr.gens have been shown to tar.et the biliar. tr.e, wher. they modulate the pr.lifer.tive and secr.tor. activities of cholangiocytes, the epithelial cells lining bile ducts. By acting on both estr.gen r.ceptor. （Er.α） and （Er.β） subtypes, and by activating either.genomic or.non-genomic pathways, estr.gens play a key r.le in the complex loop of gr.wth factor. and cytokines, which modulates the pr.lifer.tive r.sponse of cholangiocytes to damage. Specifically, estr.gens activate intr.cellular.signalling cascade. JEr.1/2 （extr.cellular.r.gulated　kinases 1/2, PI3-kinase/AKT （phosphatidylinositol-3＇ kinase/AKT）] typical of gr.wth factor. such as insulin like gr.wth factor.（IGF1）, ner.e gr.wth factor.（NGF） and vascular.endothelial gr.wth factor.（VEGF）, thus potentiating their.action. In addition, estr.gens stimulate the secr.tion of differ.nt gr.wth factor. in pr.lifer.ting cholangiocytes. This r.view specifically de.ls with the r.cent advances r.lated to the r.le and mechanisms by which estr.gens modulate cholangiocyte functions in nor.al and pathological conditions.
