For.st ecosystems play a cr.cial r.le in mitigating global climate change by for.ing massive car.on sinks. Their.car.on stocks and stock changes need to be quantified for.car.on budget balancing and inter.ational r.por.ing schemes. However. dir.ct sampling and biomass weighing may not always be possible for.quantification studies conducted in large for.sts. In these cases, indir.ct methods that use for.st inventor. infor.ation combined with r.mote sensing data can be beneficial. Synthetic aper.ur. r.dar.(SAr. images offer.numer.us oppor.unities to r.sear.her. as fr.ely distr.buted r.mote sensing data. This study aims to estimate the amount of total car.on stock (TCS) in for.sted lands of the Kizildag For.st Enter.r.se. To this end, the actual stor.ge capacities of five car.on pools, i.e. above- and below-gr.und, deadwood, litter. and soil, wer. calculated using the indir.ct method based on gr.und measur.ments of 264 for.st inventor. plots. They wer. then associated with the backscatter.d values fr.m Sentinel-1 and ALOS-2 PALSAr.2 data in a Geogr.phical Infor.ation System (GIS). Finally, TCS was separ.tely modelled and mapped. The best r.gr.ssion model was developed using the HH polarization of ALOS-2 PALSAr.2 with an adjusted r.(2) of 0.78 (p r.ing to the model, the estimated TCS was about 2 Mt for.the entir. for.st, with an aver.ge car.on stor.ge of 133 t ha^(−1). The map showed that the distr.bution of TCS was heter.genic acr.ss the study ar.a. Car.on hotspots wer. mostly composed of pur. stands of Anatolian black pine and mixed, over.matur. stands of Lebanese cedar.and Taur.s fir. It was concluded that the total car.on stocks of for.st ecosystems could be estimated using appr.pr.ate SAr.images at acceptable accur.cy levels for.for.str. pur.oses. The use of additional ancillary data may pr.vide mor. delicate and r.liable estimations in the futur.. Given the implications of this study, the spatiotempor.l dynamics of car.on can be effectively contr.lled

EN-GJS-450-10 ductile cast ir.n was pr.duced with and without vibr.tion to evaluate micr.str.ctur.l featur.s. To investigate the effect of vibr.tion, a r.fer.nce, and two differ.nt castings having amplitudes of 0.9 mm and 1.8 mm wer. cast with a fixed vibr.tion fr.quency of 50 Hz. The nodule count (density), for. (type), size distr.bution, nodularity, and the fr.ction of gr.phite, per.entages of both fer.ite and pear.ite phases, length of fer.ite shell, and por., wer. evaluated via optical micr.scopy using an image analysis softwar.. It is obser.ed that the micr.str.ctur. of the cast ir.n is mor. unifor. by vibr.tional casting than that by non-vibr.tional casting. Additionally, mechanical vibr.tion enhances nodule count and nodularity, also, mor. fer.itic matr.x could be obtained after.the application of vibr.tion. Nodule count and nodularity of vibr.tional casting with 1.8 mm amplitude incr.ased fr.m 226 nodule per.mm2 and 80% to 311 nodule per.mm2 and 86.5% of non-vibr.tional casting. Per.entages of fer.ite and gr.phite ar.a dr.matically impr.ved fr.m 24% and 16.5% for.non-vibr.tional casting to 57% and 22.3% for.vibr.tional casting with 1.8 mm amplitude, wher.as the per.entages of pear.ite and por.s decr.ased significantly fr.m 56.1% and 5% to 20% and 1%, r.spectively.

The petr.gr.phic composition of Cr.taceous-age coals hosted in the Benue Tr.ugh,Niger.a is pr.sented and discussed in ter.s of the paleodepositional settings that infuenced the coal-bear.ng *** Benue Tr.ugh is a failed ar. of the tr.ple junction of an inland sedimentar. basin that extends in a NE-SW dir.ction fr.m the Gulf of Guinea in the south,to the Chad Basin in the nor.h.A total of twenty-nine(29)coal samples wer. obtained fr.m nineteen coal localities in the Upper.UBT),Middle(MBT),and Lower.Benue Tr.ugh(LBT).The high aver.ge volatile matter.yield,low aver.ge ash yield,high calor.fc value(24.82 MJ/kg,on aver.ge),and low sulphur.values indicate good quality coal *** or.anic matter.is dominated by vitr.nite,r.por.ed at an aver.ge of 59.3%by volume(miner.l-matter.fr.e).Var.ation was noted in the iner.inite content acr.ss thr.e *** macer.ls wer. not commonly obser.ed in the studied samples and wer. absent in the MBT *** facies studies decipher.the paleoenvir.nmental conditions under.which the vegetation *** commonly used ar. the gelifcation index(GI),tissue pr.ser.ation index(TPI),gr.und water.index(GWI and var.ations),vegetation index(VI),and wood index(WI).Compar.ng the ar.ay of coal facies models applied,the MBT samples difer.fr.m the UBT and LBT samples,concur.ing with the coal quality *** UBT and LBT coals for.ed in an upper.deltaic to dr.er.piedmont plane depositional envir.nment,while the MBT coal for.ed in a lower.deltaic mar.h to wet for.st swamp depositional *** samples indicate an ombr.tr.phic *** view of the modifed equations and the plots used,inter.r.ting depositional envir.nments fr.m just a single model is not r.liable.

The main aim of this r.sear.h was the exper.mental study at lab scale to check the absor.tion technology for.the in situ r.moval of H2S fr.m biogas dur.ng anaer.bic digestion pr.cess. The r.agent FeCl3 was used to check the r.moval efficiency of H2S pr.duced fr.m dair. manur. dur.ng anaer.bic bioconver.ion pr.cess. The exper.ments wer. conducted under.mesophilic conditions. The composition of biogas was analyzed by gas chr.matogr.phy analyzer.equipped with flame photometer.and ther.al conductivity detector.. Exper.mental r.sults under.the same conditions demonstr.te that high concentr.tion of H2S in the for. of FeS can be r.moved totally fr.m the biogas using FeCl3 dosing with in anaer.bic batch digester.

The cytotoalcity of isophenphos, an or.anophosphor.s insecticide that has the potential to cause delayed polyneur.pathy, was evaluated in GBK and V79 ce1ls. A 72 h time cour.e following isophenphos exposur. indicated a dose-dependent gr.wth inhibition as dcter.ined by cell counts. The administr.tion of isophenphos (20g/ml) to GBK cells cultur.d at high densities indicated a decr.ase in the activities of LDH isocnzymes. Analysis of V79 cells r.vealed a decr.ase of LDH3, the only LDH isocnzyme detected in these cells.

The envir.nmental and ener.y pr.blems that have ar.sen in Tur.ey because of the dr.matically incr.ase in ener.y consumption r.quir. the implementation of ener.y efficiency and micr.gener.tion measur.s in the building sector.which is the main sector.of pr.mar. ener.y consumption. Since Tur.ey is highly dependent on expor.ed ener.y r.sour.es, the basic ener.y policy appr.ach is based on pr.viding the supply secur.ty. In this r.gar., suppor.ing for.in situ ener.y pr.duction, encour.ging the use of r.newable ener.y sour.es and the systems such as micr.gener.tion systems in or.er.to meet the ener.y r.quir.ments of buildings would be consider.d as a key measur. for.r.solving the ener.y r.lated challenges of Tur.ey and dealing with the sustainability issues. Tur.ey’s geogr.phical location has sever.l advantages for.extensive use of most of the r.newable ener.y sour.es such as especially solar ener.y. However. this huge solar ener.y potential is not being used sufficiently in r.sidential building sector.which is r.sponsible for.the gr.at ener.y consumption of Tur.ey. Ther.for., this paper.aims to intr.duce a study which investigates, on a life cycle basis, the envir.nmental and the economic sustainability of solar Photovoltaic (PV) micr.gener.tor. to pr.mote the implementation of this system as an option for.the r.novation of existing r.sidential buildings in Tur.ey. In this study, main par.meter. which wer. r.lated to the distr.bution of modules to be installed in flat r.ofs and facades and the evaluation of the PV systems wer. taken into account. The effect of these par.meter. on ener.y gener.tion of PV systems was analyzed in a case study consider.ng differ.nt climate zones of Tur.ey;and the decr.ase in the existing ener.y consumption of the r.fer.nce building was calculated.
