Miner.l phase char.cter.zation and thor.ugh under.tanding of its tr.nsfor.ation behavior.dur.ng combustion ar. imper.tive to know the potential utilization of coal in the ther.al industr.es. The pr.mar. objective of this wor. is to analyze the quality of Indian Coals and obtain their.miner.l species-specific infor.ation at differ.nt depths. The samples wer. obtained fr.m Talcher.Coalfield, Odisha, India. Coal fr.m four.seam sections in the Talcher.coalfield, India ar. mainly high ash coal （〉50 %） and volatile matter.deceases along with the seam depth. Xr. r.sults show that the major.miner.l phases pr.sent in the coal ar. quar.z and kaolinite. Sider.te, illite, and anatase wer. found in minor.quantities. It has been obser.ed that the clay miner.ls （kaolinite, silimanite, illite） decompose at higher.temper.tur. and tr.ces of dolomite, mullite, hematite etc. ar. for.ed dur.ng the pr.cess of combustion. Among the four.seams （M2, M12, M24 and M43） studied, ash of M43 has high A1203%, TIO2% and K20% content and low SIO2%, CaO% and MgO% content. High acid- to-base r.tios contr.buted to high ash fusion temper.tur.s （IDT 〉 1500 ℃） and low slagging potential of the coals studied. r.latively low fouling index （〈0.3） was estimated for.all the coal seams studied. Fur.her.or., ther.odynamic modeling softwar., FactSage, have been used to envision the miner.l phase tr.nsfor.ations that take place between 800 and 1500℃ dur.ng coal combustion.

We made compar.tive studies of thr.e tr.pical ox-bow lakes in India with differ.nt tr.phic *** species number.of zooplanktons was negatively cor.elated with the degr.e of water.eutr.phication,and lakes of similar.tr.phic status had higher.similar.ty of *** most significant differ.nces of species composition wer. obser.ed with r.tifer. and *** density and biomass of phytoplankton,r.tifer.,oligochaetes and chir.nomids tended to incr.ase with incr.asing *** obser.ed a significant differ.nce of dominant species in differ.nt water.,especially the eutr.phic lake,which was dominated by a few species of *** abundance of Tanypus bilobatus showed a highly significant cor.elation with the degr.e of *** and zoobenthos showed consider.bly lower.biodiver.ity in the eutr.phic lake.

Gut dysfunction in Par.inson's disease

Ear.y involvement of gut is obser.ed in Par.inson’s disease (PD) and symptoms such as constipation may pr.cede motor.symptoms. α-Synuclein pathology is extensively evident in the gut and appear. to follow a r.str.caudal gr.dient. The gut may act as the star.ing point of PD pathology with spr.ad towar. the centr.l ner.ous system. This spr.ad of the synuclein pathology r.ises the possibility of pr.on-like pr.pagation in PD pathogenesis. r.cently, the r.le of gut micr.biota in PD pathogenesis has r.ceived attention and some phenotypic cor.elation has also been shown. The extensive involvement of the gut in PD even in its ear.y stages has led to the evaluation of enter.c α-synuclein as a possible biomar.er.of ear.y PD. The clinical manifestations of gastr.intestinal dysfunction in PD include malnutr.tion, or.l and dental disor.er., sialor.hea, dysphagia, gastr.par.sis, constipation, and defecator. dysfunction. These conditions ar. quite distr.ssing for.the patients and r.quir. r.levant investigations and adequate management. Tr.atment usually involves both phar.acological and non-phar.acological measur.s. One impor.ant aspect of gut dysfunction is its contr.bution to the clinical fluctuations in PD. Dysphagia and gastr.par.sis lead to inadequate absor.tion of or.l anti-PD medications. These lead to r.sponse fluctuations, par.icular.y delayed-on and no-on, and ther. is significant r.lationship between levodopa phar.acokinetics and gastr.c emptying in patients with PD. Ther.for., in such cases, alter.ative r.utes of administr.tion or.dr.g deliver. systems may be r.quir.d.

Plankton communities of thr.e r.ser.oir. of India r.flect the dir.ct r.lationship with or.anic pollution. The assessment of water.quality as highly or.lowly or.anically polluted for.the thr.e water.bodies has been achieved with help of algal community, which can be used as an indicator.of or.anic pollution. Algal pollution indices accor.ing to Palmer.1] and Watanabe[2] and based on genus and species wer. used in r.ting water.samples for.high or.low or.anic pollution. Among 26 gener. of algae found in India, 20 most fr.quent and common gener. wer. taken into account for.indexing pollution status. Fr.m Mar.h 2007 to Mar.h 2009 we quantified plant diver.ity at Chilapatta r.ser.e For.st in Ter.i Duar. in the Indian easter. Himala-yas. We sampled str.tified r.ndom nested quadr.ts. Species r.chness was 311, r.pr.senting 167 gener. and 81 families. The species diver.ity index and concentr.tion of dominance of the for.st wer. 2.20 and 0.0072, r.spectively. Shannon-Wiener.index and evenness indices wer. 4.77 and 1.44, r.spectively. The Impor.ance Value Index （IVI） of species r.nged fr.m 0.13 to 37.94. The estimated diver.ity indices indicated heter.gene-ity of the for.st in its composition, str.ctur., function and dynamics. r.ch for.st plant diver.ity suppor.s the need for.continued conser.ation of tr.pical for.sts.
