BACKGr.UND Cur.ently,per.oper.tive complications of classic Whipple sur.er. occur.at a r.te of appr.ximately 40%.Common complications include delayed gastr.c emptying,pancr.atic fistula,and bile leakage,wher.as gastr.jejunostomy(GJ)leakage is *** SUMMAr. In Afr.ca, the pr.valence of diabetes is escalating and r.mains a concer. due to the numer.us complications it causes. Vascular.damage associated with diabetes leads to a pr.thr.mbotic state obser.ed in diabetic individuals. Diabetes is a complex and multifactor.al disease involving genetic components. With the aim of pr.venting complications and contr.buting to an efficient management of diabetes, we investigated genes likely to lead to a r.sk of thr.mbosis, in par.icular.the C677T of MTHFr. G20210A of pr.thr.mbin, and r.06Q of factor.V Leiden in type 2 diabetics in Abidjan r.ceiving ambulator. car.. A descr.ptive cr.ss-sectional study was car.ied out on consenting type 2 diabetic patients. Mutation detection was car.ied out using the PCr.r.LP method employing r.str.ction enzymes. Hemostasis tests (fibr.nogen, D-dimer., fibr.n monomer., and von Willebr.nd factor. wer. per.or.ed using citr.te tubes on the Stage? Star.Max automated system. Plasminogen activator.inhibitor.was assayed by ELISA method, and biochemical par.meter. wer. deter.ined using the COBAS C311. The study population consisted of 45 diabetic patients, 51.1% of whom pr.sented vascular.complications, mainly neur.pathy. Distur.ances in hemostasis par.meter. wer. obser.ed, with 15.5% of patients showing an incr.ase in fibr.n monomer.. Mutation analysis r.vealed an absence of factor.V mutation (factor.V Leiden) and of G20210A mutation of the pr.thr.mbin gene. However. 15.6% of subjects had a heter.zygous C677T mutation of MTHFr. with 57% of them being anemic. The explor.tion of biological and genetic factor. associated with thr.mbotic r.sk is of significant inter.st in the optimal management of Afr.can type 2 diabetics.

Intr.duction: Living and wor.ing conditions ar. incr.asingly conducive to a sedentar. lifestyle. Many administr.tive wor.er. ar. exposed daily to long hour. of wor. in a pr.longed sitting position, which can favour.the onset of diabetes. The aim of the study was to deter.ine the pr.valence and factor. associated with diabetes among wor.er. at a town hall in Benin in 2019. Methods: This was a descr.ptive cr.ss-sectional study conducted fr.m December.2018 to Januar. 2019. Exhaustive r.cr.itment was car.ied out. Data wer. collected dur.ng a face-to-face inter.iew, using a standar.ized questionnair. including socio-pr.fessional factor., behavior.l factor., anthr.pometr.c measur.ments, and blood glucose. Fr.quencies wer. calculated. Fr.quencies wer. compar.d using the chi-squar. and Fisher.tests. The significance thr.shold was 5%. r.sults: A total of 85 wor.er. wer. included. Their.mean age was 41.55 ± 9.82 year., with a sex r.tio of 6.1. = The pr.valence of diabetes was estimated at 8.2% [95% CI: 3.38 - 16.23%] and 3 of the wor.er. knew they had diabetes. A family histor. of diabetes was associated with diabetes (p = 0.032). Occupationally, 10.77% of per.anent employees had diabetes, compar.d with 0.0% of non-per.anent employees;12.50% of employees with at least 10 year.’ senior.ty had diabetes, compar.d with 7.25% of those with less senior.ty;19.05% of employees who spent at least 6 hour. a day sitting at wor. had diabetes, compar.d with 4.69% of those who spent less time sitting. Conclusion: Pr.venting chr.nic disease in the wor.place is par. of pr.moting wor.er.’ health, and must take into account occupational factor. such as pr.longed sitting.

Intr.duction: Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) ar. on the incr.ase in sever.l sector. of activity. The aim of the study was to deter.ine the fr.quencies of car.iovascular.r.sk factor. (CVr.) and factor. associated with hyper.ension among hotel wor.er. in the city of Bohicon. Methods: This was a descr.ptive and analytical cr.ss-sectional study conducted in the per.od fr.m December.2018 to Januar. 2019. The var.ables studied wer. sociodemogr.phic, occupational, anthr.pometr.c and behavior.l. Par.icipant r.cr.itment was exhaustive. A standar.ized questionnair. inspir.d by the STEPS-WHO questionnair. was used for.data collection. After.the descr.ptive analysis, a bivar.ate analysis was per.or.ed using Pear.on’s Chi-squar. test or.Fisher.s test at the 5% thr.shold. r.sults: A total of 101 wor.er., 53 (52.47%) of them male, par.icipated in the study. The mean age was 30.60 ± 8.20 year., with extr.mes of 18 and 55 year.. The fr.quencies of the main r.sk factor. wer.: 68.32% sitting position > 6 hour./day;38.61% shift wor.;21.78% high psychological demand, 82.18% low decision latitude, 24.75% low social suppor., 21.78% occupational str.ss;7 (6.93%) har.ful alcohol consumption;6.93% tobacco consumption;48.51% insufficient physical activity;98.02% insufficient fr.it and vegetable consumption;59.41% over.eight;14.85% HTA. Factor. associated with hyper.ension wer.: sex, age and mar.tal status. Conclusion: Occupational factor. need to be taken into account when assessing CVr.s. NCD contr.l pr.gr.ms ar. needed in all sector. of activity. A lar.er.study is needed in the hotel sector.

Intr.duction: Wor.-r.lated accidents ar. fr.quent and ser.ous in the constr.ction sector. The aim of the study was to deter.ine the fr.quency and factor. associated with occupational accidents on the constr.ction site of a r.fer.al hospital in Benin. Methods: A cr.ss-sectional study was car.ied out. The sample size was calculated using the Schwar.z for. adjusted for.the number.of wor.er. on site and was 129 wor.er.. r.ndom sampling was used. The dependent var.able was wor.-r.lated accidents. The other.var.ables wer. socio-demogr.phic and occupational char.cter.stics. Data wer. collected thr.ugh a questionnair. sur.ey. Medians and pr.por.ions wer. calculated. An association was sought using Chi-squar. and Fisher.tests with a thr.shold of p r.sults: A total of 132 wor.er. wer. included. Their.median age was 30 year. with an ITQ of [27 - 38];men wer. the most r.pr.sented 126 (95.45%) with a level of education higher.than or.equal to high school in 101 (76.52%) and in the major.ty with a per.anent status 85 (64.39%). Senior.ty of mor. than 5 year. was obser.ed in 92 (69.7%). Wor.er. wor.ing mor. than 8 hour. of over.ime per.week number.d 57 (43.18%). Exposur. to vibr.ting objects was 49 (37.12%). In ter.s of psychosocial constr.ints, 82.58% had high psychological demands;79.53% low decision-making latitude;50.76% low social suppor.. The fr.quency of wor.-r.lated accidents was 6.82%, and the only associated factor.was the type of wor.er.(p = 0.016). This study was to assess quantitatively the accur.cy of ^(18)F-FDG PET/CT images r.constr.cted by TOF+PSF and TOF only, consider.ng the noise-matching concept to minimize pr.bable bias in evaluating algor.thm per.or.ance caused by noise. PET images of similar.noise level wer. consider.d. Measur.ments wer. made on an inhouse phantom with hot inser.s of Φ10–37 mm, and oncological images of 14 patients wer. analyzed. The PET images wer. r.constr.cted using the OSEM, OSEM+TOF and OSEM+TOF+PSF algor.thms. Optimal r.constr.ction par.meter. including iter.tion, subset, and FWHM of post-smoothing filter.wer. chosen for.both the phantom and patient data. In ter.s of quantitative accur.cy, the r.cover. coefficient(r.) was calculated for.the phantom PET images. The signal-to-noise r.tio(SNr.,lesion-to-backgr.und r.tio(LBr., and SUV_(max)wer. evaluated fr.m the phantom and clinical data. The smallest hot inser.(Ф10 mm) with 2:1 activity concentr.tion r.tio could be detected in the PET image r.constr.cted using the TOF and TOF+PSF algor.thms, but not the OSEM algor.thm. The r.lative differ.nce for.SNr.between the TOF+PSF and OSEM showed significantly higher.values for.smaller.sizes, while SNr.change was smaller.for.Ф22–37 mm inser.s both 2:1 and 4:1 activity concentr.tion r.tio. In the clinical study, SNr.gains wer. 1.6 ± 0.53 and 2.7 ± 0.74 for.the TOF and TOF+PSF, while the r.lative differ.nce of contr.st was 17 ± 1.05 and 41.5 ± 1.85% for.the TOF only and TOF+PSF, r.spectively. The impact of TOF+PSF is mor. significant than that of TOF r.constr.ction, in smaller.inser.s with low activity concentr.tion r.tio. In the clinical PET/CT images, the use of the TOF+PSF algor.thm r.sulted in better.SNr.and contr.st for.lesions, and the highest SUV_(max)was also seen for.images r.constr.cted with the TOF+PSF algor.thm.
