Cu2O and Cul were supported on multiwalled carbon nanotubes （MWCNTs） using a wet impregna- tion method, and the resulting materials were fully characterized by powder X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and temperature-programmed desorption with ammonia analysis. The results of these experiments revealed that Cu2O and CuI were deposited on the MWCNTs in the cubic and γ phases, respectively. These results also showed that the Cu-containing MWCNTs exhibited weak to strong electron-accepting （Lewis acidic） properties. The catalytic activities of these materials were studied for the synthesis of biologically significant N-（pyridin-2-yl）benzamides via the oxidative amidation of aryl aldehydes with 2-aminopyridines. The yields of the products were in the range 50%-95% with 100% selectivity. Notably, the CuI/MWCNT catalyst was much more effective than the Cu2O/MWCNT catalyst with respect to the isolated yield of the product, although the latter of these two catalysts exhibited much better recyclability. A preferential interaction was observed between the polar nature of the acid-activated MWCNTs and the ionic Cu2O compared with covalent CuL The differences in these interactions had a significant impact on the rate of the nucleophilic attack of the amino group of 2-aminopyridine substrate on the carbonyl group of the aryl aldehyde.

The present work deals with the assessment of groundwater potential zones and their suitability for drinking in the severely drought affected villages of Vemula mandal of Cuddapah District, Andhra Pradesh. This study is based on remote sensing and GIS approach. In this approach the IrS P6 LISS III Data (23.5 m Spatial resolution) with Path: 100;row: 063 of Indian remote Sensing Satellite, resourcesat IrS-P6 LISS-III has been utilized to analyse the onscreen interpretation and delineated different geomorphological units, lithological formations and geological structures. By integrating the above said parameters the hydrogeomorphological map is prepared on 1:50,000 scale. The study area is characteristically occupied by the Papaghni and Chitravati group of rocks. In the present study, the lithological formations on the basis of their genesis have been classified as fluvial, denudational and structural. Majority of lineaments are trending in NE-SW and NW-SE directions. The fluvial landforms namely valley fill moderate and valley have good groundwater prospects while shallow weathered buried pediplain has moderate to poor groundwater prospects. The chemical quality parameters of groundwater samples have indicated that the water samples are found to be suitable for drinking, agricultural, and industrial purposes.

An organocatalytic Markovnikov-type bromo-aminoxidation of styrene derivatives was achieved by using in-situgenerated bromine and N-oxyl radicals,and the desired products were obtained in moderate to good *** bromine radical was generated from phenyliodine(III)bis(3-bromopropionate)through consecutive decarboxylation and deethylenation reactions via an organocatalytic SET ***(III)bis(3-bromopropionate)also served as the oxidant for the generation of the N-oxyl radicals,while the N-oxyl radical was also crucial for the generation of the keyβ-enaminyl radical intermediate that was required for the SET process.

Wormhole Attack Behaviour in Monte-Carlo Localization for Mobile Sensor Networks

Localization is the basic requirement for network management in Wireless Sensor Networks as it helps nodes find their absolute position coordinates and in gathering information relevant to their locations. A localization algorithm has to be dynamic, scalable and should not impose high computation or communication overhead. The localization systems are also prone to attacks. We target a localization scheme for mobile sensor networks called Monte-Carlo Localization, which study its behavior under the most dangerous attack on localization called Wormhole Attack, also known as Collusion Attack and propose a modified algorithm that can help the localization system retain its accuracy level even in the presence of attacks. Our algorithm has communication cost almost equal to that of original localization algorithm (in this case MCL) in the absence of attacks.

In the present study, polyvoltine germplasm stock ofAndhra Pradesh State Sericulture research and Development, Institute （APSSrDI） was evaluated for its performance based on quantitative and qualitative traits. Twenty-one oval and 10 peanut cocoon shaped lines were reared in different seasons of the year. Since the polyvoltines are non-diapausing, six generations were reared and evaluated for various economically important traits based on evaluation index and sub-ordinate function statistical methods. Ten top ranked lines obtained by using both the methods were identified as potential parental strains. Among oval lines, APMI4, APMI 1, APMIS, APMW9, and APMI9, and among peanut lines APMD5, APMDI, APMD3, APMD9 and APMD8 were selected as base material. The identified high yielding lines will be used in various breeding programmes as initial parents for the synthesis of superior polyvoltine breeds/hybrids.

The assessment of the quality of groundwater in rapur area of Nellore District has been carried out with an objective to determine the hydrogeochemical validity. A total of 30 samples of groundwater were collected from wells occurring in the study area. The analyzed physicochemical parameters such as pH, electrical conductivity, total dissolved solids, silica, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, bicarbonate, carbonate, sulfate, and chloride are used to characterize the ground-water quality and its suitability for drinking and irrigational uses. Based on the analytical results, chemical indices like sodium absorption ratio (SAr), adjusted SAr, percent sodium (Na %), potential salinity, residual sodium carbonate (rSC), permeability index (PI), chloroalkaline indices, Kelly’s ratio, magnesium ratio and Gibbs ratios have been calculated. Chadha rectangular and diagram for geochemical classification and hydrochemical processes of groundwater indicated that most of the waters are Na-Cl and Ca-Mg-Cl types. The Gibb’s plot indicates that the groundwater chemistry of the study area is mainly controlled by rock-water interaction.

Transition metal vanadates(TMVs)have attracted significant attention in various research fields owing to their advantageous ***,synthesizing TMVs directly on current collectors at the nanoscale is a promising strategy for achieving better ***,cobalt–nickel vanadate(CoV_(2)O_(6)–Ni_(2)V_(2)O_(7),CNV)was directly grown on carbon fabric using a facile one-step hydrothermal *** particular,the CNV sample prepared for 3 h(CNV-3)exhibited a benefit-enriched nanonest-colony morphology in which abundant nanowires(diameter:10 nm)were intertwined,providing sufficient space for electrolyte *** the CNV electrodes exhibited good cycling performance in the lithium-ion battery ***-cially,the CNV-3 electrode retained higher discharge and charge capacities of 616 and 610 mAh g-1,respectively at the 100th cycle than the other two electrodes owing to several morphologic *** electrocatalytic activity of all the CNV samples for the oxygen-evolution reaction(OEr)was also explored in an alkaline *** these CNV catalysts,the CNV-3 displayed excellent OEr performance and required an overpotential of only 270 mV to drive a current density of 10 mA cm^(-2).The Tafel slope of this catalyst was also found to be low(129 mV dec^(-1)).Moreover,the catalyst exhibited excellent durability in a 24 h stability *** results indicate that the metal vanadates with favorable nanostructures are highly suitable for both energy storage and water-splitting applications.

Atomically Precise Titanium–Oxo Nanotube with Selective Water Adsorption and Semiconductive Behaviors

We report the first example of carbon nanotube(CNT)-like assembly of the titanium(Ti)framework,Ti oxo inorganic cluster(Ti6O6)hexagonal rings into a titanium oxide(Ti–O)nanotube,prepared by ionothermal *** determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis,the Ti–O nanotube arrays,stabilized by sulfate ligands,assumed proper parallel alignment with each other and were separated by supramolecular interactions with surrounding EMIm(1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium)counter *** stability studies indicated that the Ti–O nanotube obtained is indeed stable in air and various ***,it could maintain its structure upon heating to∼300°***,inside the pores of the Ti–O nanotubes,a rare water molecules nanoconfinement behavior was observed at room ***,our current developed Ti–O nanotube arrays exhibited selective water adsorption over methanol and ethanol,showing potential applications for miscible solvents ***,these Ti–O nanotubes demonstrated typical semiconductive characteristics,with the electrical conductivity increasing four orders of magnitude,ranging from 3.15×10^(−10)–1.03×10^(−6)S/cm,as the temperature increased from 35 to 135°*** work represents a milestone in constructing inorganic Ti–O nanotube arrays with atomically precise structural information for applications as visible-lightinduced photocatalysts,semiconductors,sensors,and optoelectronics.
