This article aims to propose a finite element formulation based on Quasi-3D theory for the static bending analysis of functionally graded porous(FGP)sandwich *** FGP sandwich plates consist of three layers including the bottom skin of homogeneous metal,the top skin of fully ceramic and the FGP core layer with uneven porosity distribution.A quadrilateral(Q4)element with nine degrees of freedom(DOFs)per node is derived and employed in analyzing the static bending response of the plate under uniform and/or sinusoidally distributed *** accuracy of the present finite element formulation is verified by comparing the obtained numerical results with the published results in the ***,some numerical examples are performed to examine the effects of the parameters including power-law index k and porosity coefficient on the static bending response of rectangular FGP sandwich *** addition,a problem with a complicated L-shape model is conducted to illustrate the superiority of the proposed finite element method.

The main objective of this study is to further extend the mixed integration smoothed quadrilateral element with 20 unknowns of displacement(MISQ20)to investigate the nonlinear dynamic responses of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite(FG-CNTRC)plates with four types of carbon nanotube *** smooth finite element method is used to enhance the accuracy of the Q4 element and avoid shear locking without using any shear correction *** method yields accurate results even if the element exhibits a concave quadrilateral shape and reduces the error when the element meshing is ***,the element stiffness matrix is established by integrating the boundary of the smoothing *** motion equation of the FG-CNTRC plates is solved by adapting the Newmark method combined with the Newton–Raphson ***,the calculation program is coded in the MATLAB software and verified by comparing it with other published ***,the effects of the input parameters on the nonlinear vibration of the plates are investigated.

In this article,vibration characteristics of sandwich plates with an auxetic honeycomb core and laminated three-phase skin layers subjected to blast load are ***-order ES-MITC3 element based on higher-order shear deformation theory(HSDT)to achieve the governing *** sandwich plates with the ultra-light feature of the auxetic honeycomb core layer(negative Poisson’s ratio)and reinforced by two laminated three-phase skin *** obtained results in our work are compared with other previously published to confirm accuracy and *** addition,the effects of parameters such as geometrical and material parameters on the vibration characteristics of sandwich plates with an auxetic honeycomb core and laminated three-phase skin layers are fully investigated.

Herein,a two-node beam element enriched based on the Lagrange and Hermite interpolation function is proposed to solve the governing equation of a functionally graded porous(FGP)curved nanobeam on an elastic foundation in a hygro–thermo–magnetic *** material properties of curved nanobeams change continuously along the thickness via a power-law distribution,and the porosity distributions are described by an uneven porosity *** effects of magnetic fields,temperature,and moisture on the curved nanobeam are assumed to result in axial loads and not affect the mechanical properties of the *** equilibrium equations of the curved nanobeam are derived using Hamilton’s principle based on various beam theories,including the classical theory,first-order shear deformation theory,and higher-order shear deformation theory,and the nonlocal elasticity *** accuracy of the proposed method is verified by comparing the results obtained with those of previous reliable ***,the effects of different parameters on the free vibration behavior of the FGP curved nanobeams are investigated comprehensively.

This paper for first time proposes an isogeometric analysis (IGA) for free vibration response of bi-directional functionally graded (BDFG) rectangular plates in the fluid medium. Material properties of the BDFG plate change in both the thickness and length directions via power-law distributions and Mori-Tanaka model. The governing equation of motion of BDFG plate in the fluid-plate system is formulated basing on Hamilton's principle and the refined quasi three-dimensional (3D) plate theory with improved function f(z). The fluid velocity potential is derived from the boundary conditions of the fluid-plate system and is used to determine the added mass. The discrete system of equations is derived from the Galerkin weak form and numerically analyzed by IGA. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed solutions are verified by comparing the obtained results with those published in the literature. Moreover, the effects of the various parameters such as the interaction boundary condition, geometric parameter, submerged depth of plate, fluid density, fluid level, and the material volume control coefficients on the free vibration behavior of BDFG plate in the fluid medium are investigated in detail. Some major findings regarding the numerical results are withdrawn in conclusions.

This paper presents the application of an artificial neural network to develop an approach to determine and study the energy-optimal wing kinematics of a hovering bionic hawkmoth model.A three-layered artificial neural network is used for the rapid prediction of the unsteady aerodynamic force acting on the wings and the required *** this artificial network is integrated into genetic and simplex algorithms,the running time of the optimization process is reduced *** validity of this new approach is confirmed in a comparison with a conventional method using an aerodynamic model based on an extended unsteady vortex-lattice method for a sinu soidal wing kinematics *** studying the obtained results,it is found that actual hawkmoths do not hover under an energy-optimal ***,by tilting the stroke plane and lowering the wing positions,they can compromise and expend some energy to enhance their maneuverability and the stability of their flight.

The main purpose of this paper is to present numerical results of static bending and free vibration of functionally graded porous(FGP) variable-thickness plates by using an edge-based smoothed finite element method(ES-FEM) associate with the mixed interpolation of tensorial components technique for the three-node triangular element(MITC3), so-called ES-MITC3. This ES-MITC3 element is performed to eliminate the shear locking problem and to enhance the accuracy of the existing MITC3 element. In the ES-MITC3 element, the stiffness matrices are obtained by using the strain smoothing technique over the smoothing domains formed by two adjacent MITC3 triangular elements sharing an edge. Materials of the plate are FGP with a power-law index(k) and maximum porosity distributions(U) in the forms of cosine functions. The influences of some geometric parameters, material properties on static bending, and natural frequency of the FGP variable-thickness plates are examined in detail.

Purpose-Artificial neural network(ANN)is considered a good solution for building non-linear relationship between input and output parameters,which is suitable for solving production back allocation,which is the most important step for production planning of petroleum *** purpose of this paper is to suggest a solution for solving production back allocation problem at Samarang petrol mine based on ANN ***/methodology/approach-In this study,well operational parameters’surveillance was conducted and ANN was used to build relationships between operation parameters and production *** method is used for testing and evaluating the possibility of using ANN for supporting production planning at Samarang ***-Consequently,the proposed ANN solution can increase the accuracy of predicted values and could be used for supporting production planning at Samarang *** ANN uses well test data for training and predicting(without adding new devices),it could be a feasible and cheap *** limitations/implications-There is a need for applying other methods,such as:support machine vector,non-linear autoregressive models,*** better evaluation of ANN *** implications-The ANN models helped operation engineers to understand well production performance and make decision to improve production plan in timely *** solution could be generalized for the whole mine or to similar petroleum mines in ***/value-This paper aims to propose a solution based on ANN for solving production back allocation problem of petroleum *** solution is tested at Samarang mine.

The Vietnamese agricultural sector has experienced a dramatic structural change based on increased specialization in rice ***,small-scale rice-farmers have continued to grow multiple crops,especially in less developed *** the literature advocates crop diversification for reasons of both economic and ecological sustainability,there lacks empirical evidence as to whether crop diversification brings efficiency and productivity gains to small *** present study is the first applications of the input-oriented stochastic distance function approach in estimating scale and scope economies using data of multi-crop farming households in *** find strong evidence of product-specific economies of *** economies are also present for rice,vegetable,and other annual crop *** suggests that crop diversification enhances efficiency and ***,there still exists significant technical inefficiency in crop production,indicating opportunities to expand farm output at the existing level of inputs and *** specifically,our empirical results indicate that it is desirable to expand vegetable and other annual crop production in mountainous areas while rice cultivation can be further expanded in delta and coastal regions.
