Synthesis and Crystal Structure of a Novel Binuclear Cu(Ⅱ) Complex with Tetradentate Schiff-base Ligand

A novel binuclear complex （[Cu^2（μ2-shed）（hshed）].（CIO4）,H2O, h2shed = N-salicylidene-N＇-（2-hydroxyethyl）ethylenediamine） has been synthesized and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. It crystallizes in monoclinic, space group P21/c with a = 12.511（10）, b = 15.750（12）, c = 14.281 （12） A, β = 100.564（14）°, C22H31CIN4O9Cu2, Mr = 658.04, V = 2766（4） A^3, Z = 4, Dc = 1.580 g/cm^3,μ（MoKα = 1.689 mm^-1, F（000） = 1352, the final R = 0.0528 and wR = 0.1433 for 4880 independent reflections with Rint = 0.0577. The complex is a binuclear copper compound, and two Cu（Ⅱ） ions in the binuclear cation are in different coordination environments. The Cu（1） ion adopts a distorted square pyramidal geometry （x = 0.22） with four donor atoms （N2O2） of the ligand in the basal plane, and one hydroxyl oxygen atom with protonated form occupying the apical position. The Cu（2） ion assumes the geometry of a distorted square plane with four donor atoms （N2O2） of the ligand. The Cu...Cu separation is 3.103 A,. In addition, N-H…O and C-H…O intermolecular hydrogen bonding interactions link these binuclear cations into a quasi one-dimensional chain along the a axis.

Background Type 2 diabetes mellitus （T2DM） results from the complex association of insulin resistance and pancreatic β-cell failure. Recent studies have shown that patients diagnosed with T2DM present with a significant decrease in β-cell function, which can be further compromised during the progression of the disease. Several mechanisms have been shown to play a role in this process such as glucotoxicity and lipotoxicity, which contribute to accelerating insulin secretion. In this regard, Chinese medicine has a certain advantage. This experiment was performed to observe the effect of a Chinese medicine named Kaiyuqingre formula （KYQRF） on β-cell function and its mechanisms of action therein. Methods High glucose was used to set up a model of β-cell function failure. At the same time, medicated serum of KYQRF with different doses were administered to the cells. Rosiglitazone was taken as a control to observe the changes in insulin secretion, ATP-sensitive K＋ channels （KATP channel） and uncoupling protein-2 （UCP-2） in each group. Results KYQRF had some effects on the insulin secretion. In a low glucose environment, no effective change in insulin secretion was observed （P 〉0.05）. However, insulin levels increased significantly when INS-1 cells were exposed to a high glucose environment （P 〈0.05）. KYQRF could also enhance cell viability （P 〈0.05） in an effect similar to rosiglitazone. Although KYQRF had no effect on inwardly rectifying potassium channels （Kir6.2）（P 〉0.05）, it could decrease the overexpression of both UCP-2 and sulfonylurea receptor 1 （P〈0.05）. Conclusion KYQRF can protect islet function by decreasing UCP-2 and sulfonylurea receptor 1.

In the field of materials science and engineering,controlling over shape and crystal orientation remains a tremendous ***,we realize a nano self-assembly morphology adjustment of Na3V2(PO4)2F3(NVPF)material,based on surface energy evolution by partially replacing V3+with aliovalent Mn2+.Crystal growth direction and surface energy evolution,main factors in inducing the nano self-assembly of NVPF with different shapes and sizes,are revealed by high-resolution transmission electron microscope combined with density functional ***,NVPF with a two-dimensional nanosheet structure(NVPF-NS)exhibits the best rate capability with 68 mAh·g−1 of specific capacity at an ultrahigh rate of 20 C and cycle stability with 80.7%of capacity retention over 1,000 cycles at 1 *** significantly,when matched with Se@reduced graphene oxide(rGO)anode,NVPF-NS//Se@rGO sodium-ion full cells display a remarkable long-term stability with a high capacity retention of 93.8%after 500 cycles at 0.5 C and−25°***,experimental and theoretical calculation results manifest that NVPF-NS demonstrates such superior performances,which can be mainly due to its inherent crystal structure and preferential orientation growth of{001}*** work will promise insights into developing novel architectural design strategies for high-performance cathode materials in advanced sodium-ion batteries.

Background Pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis(AAV)is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis featured by liability to renal ***,there are few studies on the risk factors and predictive models for renal outcomes of AAV in *** Data from 179 AAV children in multiple centers between January 2012 and March 2020 were collected *** risk factors and predictive model of end-stage renal disease(ESRD)in AAV were *** Renal involvement was the most typical manifestation(95.5%),and the crescent was the predominant pathological lesion(84.9%).The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was evaluated in 114 patients,of whom 59.6%developed ESRD,and the median time to ESRD was 3.20 *** eGFR[P=0.006,odds ratio(OR)=0.955,95%confidence interval(CI)=0.924–0.987]and the percentages of global glomerulosclerosis(pGGS;P=0.018,OR=1.060,95%CI=1.010–1.112)were independent risk factors for ESRD of renal *** on the pGGS and eGFR at renal biopsy,we developed three risk grades of ESRD and one predictive *** Kaplan‒Meier curve indicated that renal outcomes were significantly different in different risk grades(P<0.001).Compared with serum creatinine at baseline,the predictive model had higher accuracy(0.86 versus 0.58,P<0.001)and a lower coefficient of variation(0.07 versus 0.92)in external *** Renal involvement is the most common manifestation of pediatric AAV in China,of which more than half deteriorates into *** predictive model based on eGFR at renal biopsy and the pGGS may be stable and accurate in speculating the risk of ESRD in AAV children.

Background： Mounts of studies have shown that low estimated glomerular filtration rate （eGFR） is associated with increased risk of adverse outcomes in patients with coronary artery disease. However, high level of eGFR was less reported. In the study, we aimed to explore the relationship between the baseline eGFR, especially the high level, and contrast-induced acute kidney injury （CI-AKI） in a Chinese population who underwent an emergency percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI）. Methods： Patients who underwent an emergency PCI from 2013 to 2015 were enrolled and divided into five groups as eGFR decreasing. Baseline characteristics were collected and analyzed. The rates of CI-AKI and the composite endpoint （including nonfatal myocardial infarction, revascularization, stroke, and all-cause death） at 6- and 12-month follow-up were compared. Logistic analysis for CI-AKI was ***： A total of 1061 patients were included and the overall CI-AKI rate was 22.7% （241 / 1061）. The separate rates were 77.8% （7/9） in Group 1 （eGFR 〉 120 ml·min^-1 -1.73 m^-2）, 26.0% （118/454） in Group 2 （120 ml·min^-1·min^-11.73 m^-2〉 eGFR≥90 ml·min^-1 1.73^-2）, 18.3% （86/469） in Group 3 （90 ml·min^-1 1.73 m^-2〉 eGFR 〉60 ml·min^-1·min^-11.73 m^-2）, 21.8% （26/119） in Group 4 （60 ml·min^-1·1.73 m^-2〉 eGFR≥30 ml·min^-1·min^-11.73 m^-2）, and 40.0% （4/10） in Group 5 （eGFR 〈30 ml·min^-1·min^-1·min^-11.73 m^-2）, with statistical significance （χ^2 = 25.19, P 〈 0.001）. The rates of CI-AKI in five groups were 77.8%, 26.0%, 18.3%, 21.8%, and 40.0%, respectively, showing a U-typed curve as eGFR decreasing （the higher the level of eGFR, the higher the CI-AKI occurrence in case ofeGFR_〉60 ml·min^-1·1.73 m^-2）. The composite endpoint rates in five groups were 0, 0.9%, 2.1%, 6.7%, and 0 at 6-month follow-up, respectively, and 0, 3.3%, 3.4%, 16.0%, and 30.0% at 12-month follow-up, respectively, both with significant differences （χ^2 = 16.26, P = 0.009 at 6-month follow-up, and χ^2 = 49.05, P 〈 0.001

Objective To explore the association between soil selenium levels and the risk of diabetes in Chinese adults aged 35–74 *** Data for this study were derived from the China Chronic Diseases and Behavioral Risk Factors Surveillance 2010 *** concentrations in soil were obtained from the Atlas of Soil Environmental Background Values in China.A two-level binary logistic regression model was used to determine the association between soil selenium concentrations and the risk of diabetes,with participants nested within districts/*** A total of 69,332 participants aged 35–74 years,from 158 districts/counties were included in the *** of selenium in soil varied greatly across the 158 districts/counties,with a median concentration of 0.219 mg/kg(IQR:0.185–0.248).The results showed that both Quartile 1(0.119–0.185 mg/kg)and Quartile 4(0.249–0.344 mg/kg)groups were positively associated with diabetes compared to a soil selenium concentration of 0.186–0.219 mg/kg(Quartile 2),crude odds ratios(ORs)(95%CI)were 1.227(1.003–1.502)and 1.280(1.048–1.563).The P values were 0.045 and 0.013,for Quartile 1 and Quartile 4 groups,*** adjusting for all confounding factors of interest,the Quartile 1 group became non-significant,and the Quartile 4 group had an adjusted OR(95%CI)of 1.203(1.018–1.421)relative to the reference group(Quartile 2),the P values was *** significant results were seen for the Quartile 3 group(0.220–0.248 mg/kg)compared to the reference *** Excessive selenium concentrations in soil could increase the risk of diabetes among Chinese adults aged 35–74 years.

Background： Previous studies of contrast-induced acute kidney injury （CI-AK1） were mostly based on selective percutaneous coronary intervention （PCI） cases, and risk factors of CI-AKI after emergency PCI are unclear. The aim of this study was to explore the risk factors of CI-AKi in a Chinese population undergoing emergency PCI. Methods： A total of 1061 consecutive patients undergoing emergency PCI during January 2013 and june 2015 were enrolled and divided into CI-AK1 and non-CI-AKl group. Univariable and multivariable analyses were used to identity the risk factors of CI-AKI in emergency PCI patients. CI-AKI was defined as an increase in serum creatinine ≥25% or ≥0.5 mg/dl （44.2 μmol/L） above baseline within 3 days alter exposure to contrast medium. Results： The incidence of C1-AKI in patients undergoing emergency PCI was 22.7% （241/1061）. Logistic multivariable analysis showed that body surface area （BSA）（odds ratio [OR] 0.213, 95% confidence interval [CI]： 0.075-0.607, P = 0.004）, history, of myocardial infarction （MI）（OR 1.642, 95% CI. 1.079-2.499, P- 0.021 ）, left ventricular ejection fraction （LVEF）（OR 0.969, 95% CI： 0.944-0.994, P = 0.015）, hemoglobin （Hb）（OR 0.988, 95% CI. 0.976-1.000, P 1.018 1.037, P 〈 0.001 ）, left anterior descending （LAD） stented （OR 1 0.009 0.987, P- 0.049）, and diuretics use （OR 1.850, 95% CI： 1.233-2 0.045）, estimated glomerular filtration rate （OR 1.027, 95% CI： 464, 95% CI： 1.000 2.145, P 0.050）, aspirin （OR 0.097, 95%CI： .777, P - 0.003） were independent predictors of CI-AKI in patients undergoing emergency PCI. Conclusion： History of MI, low BSA, LVEF and Hb level, LAD stented, and diuretics use are associated with increased risk of CI-AK1 in patients undergoing emergency PCI.
