The current status of foot self-care knowledge, behaviours, and analysis of influencing factors in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in China

Purpose:To investigate the knowledge and behaviours on foot self-care in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus;analyse the influential factors,and provide information for the intervention ***:A total of 5961 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus from 144 hospitals in China were included in the *** investigation content included patients'demographic data,foot self-care knowledge and *** investigation tools were the questionnaires on the general diabetes information,on the foot self-care knowledge,and on the foot selfcare ***:The foot self-care knowledge was medium and the foot self-care behaviour was *** status of knowledge and behaviours were influenced by education,duration of diabetes mellitus,periodic inspection,and education about diabetic *** analysis demonstrated that there was positive correlation between knowledge score and behaviour score(r?0.27,p<0.001).Conclusions:The status of foot self-care knowledge and behaviours are not *** to the patients'own characteristics,the theory of knowledge,attitude and practice applies to encouraging patients to go for periodic inspection and education about diabetic complications so as to enhance the knowledge and promote the self-care behaviours.

Plasticity Induced by Twin Lamellar Structure in Magnesium Alloy

Effect of {10-12} twins on the mechanical properties of magnesium alloy has received considerable research interest. A hot-rolled AZ31 Mg alloy sheet was subjected to dynamic plastic deformation with the aim of introducing {10-12} twin lamellar structure. It has been found that higher strength and better ductility are obtained when tensile loading is perpendicular to the c axis of twin region of the twin lamellar structured sample, indicating that the plasticity improvement caused by twins depends on the special strain path. The fracture morphology of the twin lamellar structured sample shows a dimple fracture mode under tensile loading perpendicular to the c axis, while the cleavage fracture with river pattern has been observed in other fractured samples. Above experimental results indicate that the interaction of dislocations and twin lamellae may play an important role in improving mechanical properties of Mg alloy.

Finite element modeling of consolidation process of Si C fiber-reinforced titanium matrix composites via matrix-coated fiber method

The consolidation process of SiCf/Ti-6Al-4V composites by matrix-coated fiber (MCF) method via hot pressing was investigated using finite element modeling (FEM). By analyzing the elastic–plastic contact deformation of the representative aligned coated fibers, the consolidation maps delineating the time–temperature–pressure relationship for full densification were constructed. Both the flow coefficient and the contact area coefficient used to describe the contact deformation were calculated according to the model. In addition, the effect of fiber content on matrix stress distribution was analyzed. The results show that fiber content is a significant factor that influences the densification process. Higher fiber content will lower the consolidation rate.

The microstructures of the as-rolled magnesium alloy subjected to dynamic plastic deformation along the rolling direction have been *** one{101-2}twin variant or a twin variant pair is activated in a grain,leading to a parallel{101-2}twin lamellar *** the stage of twinning-dominated deformation(ε〈-8%),lamellar thickness decreases significantly with strain,from 5.55 to 2.49 *** evolution of lamellar thickness during deformation is directly related to{1012}twin *** plastic strain is greater than-8%,the twin lamellar structure disappears because the volume fraction of twins almost saturates at a value of-90%.

Polyethylenimine-cyclodextrin-tegafur(PEI-CyD-tegafur) conjugate was synthesized as a novel multifunctional prodrug of tegafur for co-delivery of chemotherapeutic agent tegafur and enhanced green fluorescent protein(EGFP) reporter plasmid *** of tegafur to PEI-CyD via chemical linkage was characterized by 1 H NMR spectrometry and ultraviolet(UV) ***-CyD-tegafur was able to condense plasmid DNA into complexes of around 150 nm with positive charge at the N/P ratio of 25,in accordance with electron microscopy observation of compact and monodisperse *** results of in vitro experiments showed enhanced cytotoxicity and considerable transfection efficiency in B16F10 cell ***,PEI-CyD-tegafur may have great potential as a co-delivery system with anti-cancer activity and potential for gene delivery.

Precipitates in Steels With Ti Additive Produced by CSP Process

Hot strips of low carbon steels with Ti additive [-contain C 0.04 % -0. 07 % , Si≤0.6%, Mn≤0.6%, Ti 0. 060/00- 0.14% （mass percent）] prodvced by EAF-CSP （Electric Arc Furnaces-Compact Strip Production） process were examined by TEM, HREM and XRD. Carbonitrides with different N/C ratio were found in the sam- ples. The varying composition of the Ti-carbonitrides resulted from the supersaturation of Ti and temperature at which the compound was formed. In the tested steel, total mass fraction of the precipitates including cementite, carbonitride and a small quantity of Fe3O4, AO2O3 , Ti2 CS and A1N was about 0. 305 %. XRD results showed that about a quarter of the powder extracted by electrolysis was titanium nitrides, carbonitrides and carbides. Particle arrays formed by interphase precipitation could be observed either in slabs or in hot strips. The dominant reaction mecha- nisms were discussed. Compared with the conventional cold charge process, small amount of Ti addition would be more effective for orecipitation of fine orecioitates in the steels oroduced by CSP process.

Mechanism of apoptotic induction on T24 cells by honokiol and its synergistic anticancer effect in combination with hydroxycamptothecin

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the mechanism of honokiol(HNK)on bladder cancer cells and its synergistic anticancer effect with hydroxycamptothecin(HCPT).METHODS:Control,HNK,HCPT,and HNK plus HCPT groups were *** morphological characteristics of T24 cells were examined *** maximal experimental concentration of HNK and HCPT were determined according to IC10 detected by MTT.T24 cell viability and the percentage of apoptotic cells were assessed on the basis of MTT and flow cytometric *** expression of caspase-3,caspase-9,phosphorylated nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB)-p65,Akt,and extracellular signal-regulated kinase(ERK)proteins were analyzed by Western ***:Apoptosis in T24 cells was observed microscopically in both the HNK and HCPT groups and even more obvious in the HNK plus HCPT *** percentage of T24 cell viability decreased down to 19.41%,and the percentage of apoptotic cells rose to 54.08% when treated with HNK plus HCPT in an HNK dose-dependent *** induction of caspase-3 and caspase-9 proteins and the inhibition of phosphorylation of NF-κB-p65,Akt,and ERK proteins in T24 cells were demonstrated in the HNK groups,and more significantly in the HNK plus HCPT groups,but not in the HCPT ***:The anticancer effect of HNK may be due to the activation of the caspase pathway and inhibition of phosphorylation of NF-κB,Akt,and *** in combination with HCPT produces a synergistic cell-killing effect on bladder cancer cells.

White organic light-emitting diodes （WOLEDs） with a structure of indium-tin-oxide （ITO）/N,N＇-bis- （1-naphthyl）-N,N＇-diphenyl- （1, 1＇-biphenyl）-4,4＇-diamine （NPB）/1,2,3,4,5,6-hexakis（9,9-diethyl-9H-fluoren-2- yl）benzene （HKEthFLYPh）/5,6,11,12-tetraphenylnaphtacene （rubrene）/tris（8-hydroxyquinoline） aluminum （Alq3）/Mg：Ag were fabricated by vacuum deposition method, in which a novel star-shaped hexafluorenyl- benzene HKEthFLYPh was used as an energy transfer layer, and an ultrathin layer of rubrene was inserted between HKEthFLYPh and Alq3 layers as a yellow light-emitting layer instead of using a time-consuming doping process. A fairly pure WOLED with Commissions Internationale De L＇Eclairage （CIE） coordinates of （0.32, 0.33） was obtained when the thickness of rubrene was 0.3 nm, and the spectrum was insensitive to the applied voltage. The device yielded a maximum luminance of 4816 cd/m2 at 18 V.
