Structural Properties of Ions and Polyelectrolytes in Aqueous Solutions under External Electric Fields:The Sign Effect

We utilize molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the microstructures of ions and polyelectrolytes in aqueous solutions under external electric *** focusing on the multi-body interactions between ionic components and H_(2)O molecules,as well as their responses to the external electric fields,we clarify several nontrivial molecular features of the ionic and polyelectrolyte solutions,such as the solvations of cations and anions,clustering of the ions,and dispersions/aggregations of polyelectrolyte chains,as well as the corresponding responses of H_(2)O molecules in these *** simulations illustrate the variations in structures of ionic solutions caused by reversing the charge sign of the ions,and elucidate the disparity in structures between anionic and cationic polyelectrolyte solutions in the presence of the external electric *** work clarifies the mechanism for the alternations in complex multi-body interactions in aqueous solutions caused by the application electric field,which can contribute to the fundamental understanding of the physical and chemical natures of ion-containing and charged polymeric systems.

BIOPOLYMER BASED NANO-DELIVERY SYSTEMS FOR ENHANCING BIOAVAILABILITY OF NUTRACEUTICALS

Recently, there has been an increasing interest in the development of efficient food-grade oral nano-delivery systems for encapsulation, protection and target delivery of nutraceuticals to enhance their bioavailability, fiarther to prevent disease and promote human health and well-being. Food proteins represent promising candidates for efficient nutraceutical nanocarriers due to their exceptional characteristics, namely biodegradability, nonantigenicity, high nutritional value, abundant renewable sources and extraordinary binding capacity to various nutraceuticals. In addition, their biocompatibility, biodegradability, low toxicity, low cost, and non-starch polysaccharides possess many favourable characteristics such as stability in the harsh gastric environment, resistance to digestive enzymes, and mucoadhesiveness to intestinal mucosal surface. This review describes the design and formation of nanoscaled delivery systems for nutraceuticals using food-grade proteins （including peptides）, polysaccharides and their associative complexes. The toxicity and cellular uptake fate of the nanostructures, as well as their effects on the intestinal absorption of the encapsulated nutraceuticals were also discussed.

Design and Preparation of pH-responsive Curdlan Hydrogels as a Novel Protein Delivery Vector

New pH-responsive saccharide hydrogels were designed and prepared using curdlan derivatives（curdlan-Bochistidine, CUR-HIS）. The CUR-HIS hydrogels possessed highly porous structures. The swelling ratios of CUR-HIS hydrogels increased with the degree of substitution of Boc-histidine groups. And the addition of 0.5 mol/L Na Cl provoked a sharp reduction of swelling ratio of CUR-HIS hydrogels. Bovine serum albumin（BSA） can be efficiently encapsulated into CUR-HIS hydrogels. Moreover, the release profiles of BSA at different p H values from CUR-HIS hydrogels were significantly different. These hydrogels showed good biocompatibility in the cytotoxicity assays. The CUR-HIS hydrogels are of great potential in biomedical applications such as protein delivery systems.

Establishing and clinically validating a machine learning model for predicting unplanned reoperation risk in colorectal cancer

Unsupervised Oral Endoscope Image Stitching Algorithm

Oral endoscope image stitching algorithm is studied to obtain wide-field oral images through regis-tration and stitching,which is of great significance for auxiliary *** with natural images,oral images have lower textures and fewer ***,traditional feature-based image stitching methods rely heavily on feature extraction quality,often showing an unsatisfactory performance when stitching images with few ***,due to the hand-held shooting,there are large depth and perspective disparities between the captured images,which also pose a challenge to image *** overcome the above problems,we propose an unsupervised oral endoscope image stitching algorithm based on the extraction of overlapping regions and the loss of deep *** the registration stage,we extract the overlapping region of the input images by sketching polygon intersection for feature points screening and estimate homography from coarse to fine on a three-layer feature pyramid ***,we calculate loss using deep features instead of pixel values to emphasize the importance of depth disparities in homography ***,we reconstruct the stitched images from feature to pixel,which can eliminate artifacts caused by large *** method is compared with both feature-based and previous deep-based methods on the UDIS-D dataset and our oral endoscopy image *** experimental results show that our algorithm can achieve higher homography estimation accuracy,and better visual quality,and can be effectively applied to oral endoscope image stitching.

Absorbable bandage wrapping in treatment of severe blast liver injury： a miniature swine model

Background The aim of this research was to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of absorbable bandage wrapping in the treatment of cases of severe liver trauma. Methods Electric firecrackers were detonated in 16 miniature swine to produce a severe blast liver injury. After fluid resuscitation, the animals were randomly divided into two groups （n=-8 each） and were either treated with absorbable bandage wrapping of the injured lobe of liver （Group B） or hepatic Iobectomy （Group H）. Time to hemostasis, blood loss during the treatment period, and other parameters were compared, including postoperative serum total bilirubin （TB）, alanine aminotransferase （ALT）, and aspartate aminotransferase （AST）. Results Blood loss during the treatment period was significantly lower in Group B than that in Group H （（81.3±26.0） ml vs. （130.8±2.9.5） ml, P=0.0031）. Serum AST and ALT were transiently increased post-surgically. These transient increases were significantly higher in Group B. No difference in time to hemostasis was noted （（8.70±2.27） minutes vs. （10.28±1.93） minutes, P=-0.1559） in Groups B and H, respectively. Two pigs were humanely euthanized 28 days post-surgically and the wrapped liver lobes appeared atrophies. Microscopically, there was evidence of emerging and mature fibrous tissue. Conclusion Absorbable bandaqe wrappinQ is both feasible and effective in the treatment of severe blast liver injury.

The paper investigates the escape probability for isotropic emitters near a Kerr black *** propose a new approach to obtain the escape probability in a general manner,going beyond previous case-by-case *** approach is based on studies of the black hole shadow with astrometric observable and can be applied to emitters with an arbitrary 4-velocities and locations,even to the emitters outside of the equatorial *** also consider representative examples illustrating how escape probabilities vary with distance,velocity,and inclination ***,this new approach provides an effective method for studying escape probabilities near Kerr black holes.
