BACKGROUND Chondroblastoma(CB)is an intermediate tumor of cartilage *** involving the sacrum is a very rare *** SUMMARY A 17-year-old male with sacral CB was diagnosed as CB during the first surgery,and 18 mo later,the tumor recurred and a second surgery was performed with the same pathology result of *** We recommend complete removal of the tumor in a timely manner,provided that surgical conditions are *** the same time,other diseases should be carefully differentiated in terms of imaging or pathological features so as to avoid erroneous diagnostic conclusions.

Objective To investigate the impact of sub-chronic Aluminium-maltolate [Al（mal）s] exposure on the catabolism of amyloid precursor protein （APP） in rats. Methods Forty adult male Sprague-Dawley （SD） rats were randomly divided into five groups： the control group, the maltolate group （7.56 mg/kg BW）, and the Al（mal）s groups （0.27, 0.54, and 1.08 mg/kg BW, respectively）. Control rats were administered with 0.9% normal saline through intraperitoneal （i.p.） injection. Maltolate and Al（mal）s were administered to the rats also through i.p. injections. Administration was conducted daily for two months. Rat neural behavior was examined using open field tests （OFT）. And the protein expressions and their mRNAs transcription related with APP catabolism were studied using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay （ELISA） and real-time polymerase chain reaction （RT-PCR）. Results The expressions of APP, 13-site APP cleaving enzyme 1 （BACEI） and presenilin-1 （PSi） proteins and their mRNAs transcription increased gradually with the increase of Al（mal）3 doses （P〈0.05）. The enzyme activity of BACEI in the 0.54 and 1.08 mg/kg Al（mal）s groups increased significantly （P〈0.05）. The expression of 8-amyloid protein （AS） 1-40 gradually decreased while the protein expression of A81-42 increased gradually with the increase of Al（mal）s doses （P〈0.05）. Conclusion Result from our study suggested that one of the possible mechanisms that Al（mal）s can cause neurotoxicity is that Al（mal）s can increase the generation of A81-42 by facilitating the expressions of APP, β-, and γ-secretase.

To realize the reuse of process design knowledge and improve the efficiency and quality of process design, a method for extracting thinking process rules for process design is proposed. An instance representation model of the process planning reflecting the thinking process of techni- cians is established to achieve an effective representation of the process documents. The related process attributes are extracted from the model to form the related events. The manifold learning algorithm and clustering analysis are used to preprocess the process instance data. A rule extraction mechanism of process design is introduced, which is based on the related events after dimension reduction and clustering, and uses the association rule mining algorithm to realize the similar process information extraction in the same cluster. Through the vectorization description of the related events, the final process design rules are formed. Finally, an example is given to evaluate the method of process design rules extraction.

Crops face increased risk from heat stress due to climate ***(Solanum tuberosum L.)tubers grown in hot summers often have defects including pre-harvest sprouting(“heat sprouts”).We have used 18 potato cultivars to investigate whether heat stress(HS)conditions alone could cause heat sprouting and dormancy changes in *** also examined transcriptomic responses of potato to HS and whether these responses are like those induced by postharvest *** demonstrated that HS alone caused heat sprouts and shortened postharvest dormancy period,heat-sprouted tubers became dormant after harvest,and cultivars varied substantially for producing heat spouts but there was no clear association with cultivar maturity *** Innovator did not show any heat sprouts and still had long ***-associated genes(DOG1 and SLP)were downregulated in HS tubers like in postharvest sprouting *** have identified 1201 differentially expressed genes,14 enriched GO terms and 12 enriched KEGG pathways in response to HS in growing tubers of‘Russet Burbank’.Transcriptomic response of‘Russet Burbank’to HS showed significant similarities to that of postharvest non-HS sprouted *** biosynthesis pathway was enriched in heat-stressed tubers and was likely involved in heat sprouting and dormancy *** sprouting and postharvest sprouting shared common candidate genes and had significant similarity in gene *** study has significance for selecting potato cultivars for farming,planning storage and utilization of heat-stressed tubers,identifying sprouting-related genes,understanding heat-stress biology,and breeding heat-tolerant potato cultivars,especially for sustainable potato production under climate change.

This work was to generate landslide susceptibility maps for the Three Gorges Reservoir(TGR) area, China by using different machine learning models. Three advanced machine learning methods, namely, gradient boosting decision tree(GBDT), random forest(RF) and information value(InV) models, were used, and the performances were assessed and compared. In total, 202 landslides were mapped by using a series of field surveys, aerial photographs, and reviews of historical and bibliographical data. Nine causative factors were then considered in landslide susceptibility map generation by using the GBDT, RF and InV models. All of the maps of the causative factors were resampled to a resolution of 28.5 m. Of the 486289 pixels in the area,28526 pixels were landslide pixels, and 457763 pixels were non-landslide pixels. Finally, landslide susceptibility maps were generated by using the three machine learning models, and their performances were assessed through receiver operating characteristic(ROC) curves, the sensitivity, specificity,overall accuracy(OA), and kappa coefficient(KAPPA). The results showed that the GBDT, RF and In V models in overall produced reasonable accurate landslide susceptibility maps. Among these three methods, the GBDT method outperforms the other two machine learning methods, which can provide strong technical support for producing landslide susceptibility maps in TGR.
