Given Nepal's vulnerability to extreme precipitation(EP),it is imperative to conduct a comprehensive analysis to comprehend the historical trends of such ***,acquiring precise precipitation data for EP remains challenging in mountainous countries like Nepal owing to the scarcity of densely gauged *** limitation impedes the dissemination of knowledge pertaining to EP variability events in *** current research on this topic is deficient for two main reasons:1)there is a lack of studies leveraging recently released high-resolution precipitation products to identify their EP detection capabilities,which further hinders the usability of those products in data-scarce regions like Nepal,and 2)most studies have focused on the characterisation of EP events in Nepal rather than their spatial and temporal *** address these issues,this study evaluated the EP detection capabilities of four high-resolution precipitation product datasets(PPDs)across Nepal from 1985 to *** datasets include the ERA5 Land reanalysis data,satellite-based precipitation data(PERSIANN_CCS_CDR and CHIRPS_V2.0)and a merged dataset(TPHiPr).We used various statistical and categorical indices to assess their ability to capture the spatial and temporal variability of EP *** annual EP events were characterised by 11 indices divided into frequency and intensity *** TPHiPr merged dataset offered a robust depiction of monthly precipitation estimates,achieving the highest critical success index,accuracy,probability of detection and a low false alarm ratio for daily precipitation detection of 0.1 mm in ***,the PERSIANN_CCS_CDR dataset exhibited poor *** PPDs showed increasing trends in EP ***,the TPHiPr dataset showcased those trends with fewer errors and stronger correlations for many frequency(R10mm,R20mm and R25mm)and intensity(RX1day,RX5day,PRCPTOT and R99p)*** results indicate that TPHiPr outperformed ot

The origin of low coercivity of high La-Cecontaining Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets was analyzed based on characterization of the microstructure,magnetic domain structure,and magnetization reversal *** can be found that the coercivity of magnet decreases sharply and the ratio value of coercivity(H_(cj))to anisotropic field(H_(A))is below the theoretical value when the amount of La-Ce substitution for Nd is more than 40 wt%.The grain boundaries with poor magnetic isolation in the high La-Cecontaining Nd-Fe-B sintered magnets play an important role in reducing the coercivity of the *** addition,a larger proportion of the reversible portions can be found for the magnet with a large content of La-Ce,which will lead to the low performance of the magnet.

Effect of statins type on incident prostate cancer risk： a meta-analysis and systematic review

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of statins type or even when grouping statins by hydrophilic or hydrophobic nature on prostate cancer risk. A literature search was performed without language restrictions using the databases of PubMed （1984.1-2015.3）, MEDLINE （1984.1-2015.3）, and EMBASE （1990.1-2015.3）. Two independent reviewers appraised eligible studies and extracted data. weighted averages were reported as relative risk （RR） with 95% confidence intervals （CI）. Statistic heterogeneity scores were assessed with the standard Cochran＇s Q-test and F statistic, Publication bias was detected using the Begg＇s and Egger＇s tests. All statistical analyses were conducted by STATA version 10. Finally, fourteen studies were included in the meta-analysis. Both hydrophilic and hydrophobic statins showed no association with incidence of prostate cancer （RR = 1.00, 95% Ch 0.82-1.17; RR = 0.90, 95% CI： 0.73-1.08, respectively）. Meanwhile, the risk of prostate cancer was not reduced in simvastatin （RR = 0.89, 95% CI- 0.72-1.05）, pravastatin （RR = 1.02, 95% Ch 0.94-1.11）, atorvastatin （RR = 0.89, 95% CI： 0.76-1.02）, fluvastatin （RR = 0.99, 95% Ch 0.97-1.01）, or Iovastatin users （RR = 0.94, 95% CI： 0.79-1.08）. The funnel plot showed that there was no publication bias. The results showed that statins had a neutral effect on prostate cancer risk; hydrophilic and hydrophobic statins as well as any subtype of statins did not affect the risk of prostate cancer.

To achieve high-efficiency utilization of complex and unmanageable iron-containing minerals,the effects of oxygen enrichment on productivity,yield,flame front speed,exhaust gas peak temperature,and desulphurization reaction of the vanadium-titanium magnetite sintering process as well as sinter tumble index and mineralogy were clarified,with oxygen enrichment concentrations ranging from 21 to 29 vol.%.Results indicated that with increasing the oxygen enrichment concentration from 21 to 27 vol.%,the flame front speed increased from 30.3 to 40.0 mm min^(-1),the yield enhanced from 72%to 77%,and the productivity augmented from 1.83 to 2.67t m^(-2)h^(-1);in the meantime,the tumble index was improved from 73.7%to 77.9%,and the exhaust gas peak temperature rose from 376.4 to 484.8℃.The main reason for the improvement in sintering properties was the increased combustibility of fuels and the generation of proper liquid phase that improved the permeability of the packed *** improved sinter strength is mainly due to the increase in the phase fraction of silico-ferrites of calcium and *** addition,oxygen enrichment sintering could significantly increase the desulphurization level of vanadium-titanium magnetite sinter and the rate of desulphurization reaction during sintering process.

Red Electroluminescence and Photoluminescence from Novel Binuclear Europium Complex with Squaric Acid Ligand

A novel binuclear europium P-diketone complex with squaric acid ligand was synthesized for the first time. Its structure was elucidated by IR, UV, and Elemental Analysis. Red light emitting diode (LED) was fabricated by using the novel europium complex as an emitting layer, tris(8-quinolinolate) aluminum (III) (Alq(3)) as an electron-transporting layer, N, N'-diphenyl-N, N'-(3-methylphenyl)-1,1'-biphenyl-4,4'-diamine (TPD) as a hole-transporting layer. A cell structure of indium-tin-oxide/TPD/Eu-complex/Alq(3)/Mg: Ag was employed. Red electroluminescence was observed at room temperature with dc bias voltage of 2 V in this cell. 2 Red emission peaks at about 613 nm with maximum luminance of over 106 cd/m(2). Compared with the EL luminance from those europium complexes reported before, one from the Eu-complex is best in the same cells.

Introduction:In-use product and material stocks are the amount of concerned manufactured products and materials in active use,and are essential components of urban ***:This study estimates the dynamic in-use stocks of steel-containing products and steel in the city of Xiamen,China,during 1980–2015 by applying a bottom-up accounting *** incorporate 55 categories of steel-containing products that are classified into five end-use sectors(i.e.,buildings,infrastructure,transportation equipment,machinery,and domestic appliances).Outcomes and Discussion:In-use stocks of 51%of the studied products kept increasing during 1980–2015,especially after *** stocks have grown up to 4.9±1.4 tons per capita(t/cap)in 2015,from 0.5±0.2 t/cap in *** are the largest reservoirs,although its share decreased from 89%in 1980 to 68%in *** dynamic spatial distribution indicates that steel stocks gradually expanded from urban core to suburban ***:Theresults help to explore how a city’s urbanization is sustained by the in-use stocks ***-use steel stocks,of which the growth is highly correlated to and probably driven by the population growth,GDP increase,and urban built-up area expansion,may serve as a supplementary indicator for urbanization.

While presenting biological characteristics of vaccinia virus and laboratory-acquired infections during related research processes, this paper focuses on benefits and risks of vaccinia virus immunization in relation to laboratory-acquired infections, describes characteristics and the adaptation of vaccinia virus vaccine, analyses the role vaccinia virus immunization plays in the prevention and control of laboratory-acquired infections, and finally proposes solutions and countermeasures to further promote and implement immune control strategies. The problem related to immune strategy and laboratory- acquired infections which is being raised, analyzed and explored plays an active and instructive role in vaccinia virus related researches and laboratory- acquired infections, and also helps to recommend and develop relevant immune strategy for future vaccine control of such infections.

The purification of metallurgical-grade silicon （MG-Si） has been investigated during electron beam melting （EBM） process. The results show that the phosphorus, calcium and aluminum contents decrease significantly after melting, and magnesium is partially removed. However, no significant change in content for boron and iron has been found. Langmuir＇s equation and Henry law were used to derive the removal effi-ciency for each impurity element. The free surface temperature was estimated by the Hertz-Knudsen-Langmuir equation and silicon＇s vapor pressure equation. Good agreement was found between measured and calculated impurities＇ removal efficiency for phosphorus, calcium and aluminum, magnesium, boron and iron. The deviation between the two results was also analyzed in depth.

Stones in the seminal vesicles are extremely rare. We present a 62-year-old patient with a stone within a seminal vesicle cyst, who was cured by laparoscopic treatment. The operative time was 80 rnin, and the estimated blood loss was 90 mL. Scanning electron microscope examination of the stone showed a compact crystal image externally and sparse spherical crystal structure in kernel. Composition of the stone was calcium fluorophosphate on X-ray diffractometer. The follow-up time was 15 months with no recurrence of cyst or stone. To our knowledge, this case is the first to describe laparoscopic removal of a stone within a seminal vesicle cyst, and the first to describe calcium fluorophosphate as the composition of seminal vesicle stones. （Asian JAndro12008 Mar; 10： 337-340）
