We computationally investigated the molecular aggregation effects on the excited state deactivation processes by considering both the direct vibrational relaxation and the S0/S1 surface crossing,that is,the minimum energy conical intersection(MECI).Taking classical AIEgens bis(piperidyl)anthracenes(BPAs)isomers and the substituted silole derivatives as examples,we show that the deformation ofMECI always occurs at the atom with greater hole/electron ***,the energetic and structural changes of MECI caused by substituent has been *** find that effective substituent such as the addition of the electron-donating groups,which can polarize the distribution of hole/electron density of molecules,will lead to the pyramidalization deformation of MECI occurring at the substituent position and simultaneously reduce the required energy to reach *** MECI is sterically restricted by the surrounding molecules in solid phase,which remarkably hinders the non-radiative decay through surface *** quantitative computational assessments of the fluorescence quantum efficiency for both solution and solid phases,we elucidate the role of MECI and its dependence on the substitutions through pyramidalization deformation,which give rise to the aggregation-induced emission(AIE)phenomenon for 9,10-BPA,to aggregation-enhance emission(AEE)behavior for 1,4-BPA,and to conventional aggregation-caused quenching(ACQ)for 1,*** further verify such mechanism for siloles,for which we found that the substitutions do not change the AIE *** findings render a general molecular design approach to manipulating the aggregation effect for optical emission.

Characteristics and mechanisms of sorption of organic contaminants onto sodium dodecyl sulfate modified Ca-Al layered double hydroxides

A series of calcium aluminum layered double hydroxides (LDHs) modified with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) (Ca/Al-SDS-LDHs) were synthesized by co-precipitation, and characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The Ca/Al-SDS-LDHs enhanced sorption of nitrobenzene and naphthalene from water compared with inor- ganic LDH (Ca/Al-Cl-LDH). The sorption isotherms for sorption of organic contaminants onto the Ca/Al-SDS-LDHs were linear for the concentration range tested, which implies that the sorption mechanism is mainly by partition. The sorption of naphthalene onto Ca/Al-SDS-LDH was apparently stronger than that of nitrobenzene, but this order reversed after eliminating the hydrophobic effect of these two contaminants. Because naphthalene is non-polar and nitrobenzene is polar, the results indicate that the Ca/AlSDS-LDHs were selective for polar organic contaminants.

A systematic framework of constructing surrogate model for slider track peeling strength prediction

Peeling strength can comprehensively reflect slider track safety and is crucial in car seat safety *** methods for determining slider peeling strength are primarily physical testing and numerical ***,these methods encounter the potential challenges of high costs and overlong time consumption which have not been adequately ***,the efficient and low-cost surrogate model emerges as a promising ***,currently used surrogate models suffer from inefficiencies and complexity in data sampling,lack of robustness in local model predictions,and isolation between data sampling and model *** overcome these challenges,this paper aims to set up a systematic framework for slider track peeling strength prediction,including sensitivity analysis,dataset sampling,and model ***,the interpretable linear regression is performed to identify the sensitivity of various geometric variables to peeling *** on the variable sensitivity,a distance metric is constructed to measure the disparity of different variable ***,the sparsity-targeted sampling(STS)is proposed to formulate a representative ***,the sequentially selected local weighted linear regression(SLWLR)is designed to achieve accurate track peeling strength ***,a quantitative cost assessment of the supplementary dataset is proposed by utilizing the minimum adjacent sample distance as a *** results validate the efficacy of sequential selection and the weighting mechanism in enhancing localization ***,the proposed SLWLR method surpasses similar approaches and other common surrogate methods in terms of prediction performance and data quantity requirements,achieving an average absolute error of 3.3 kN in the simulated test dataset.

Synthesis of novel chiral fluorinating agents,(+)-and(-)-N-fluoro-3-methyl-3-(4-methylphenyl)-2H-benzo[e][1,2]thiazine-1,1,4-triones

Treatment of N-t-butylbenzenesulfonamide with an excess of BuLi, followed by the reaction with methyl 2-（4-methylphenyl）propanoate, gave the corresponding 2-carboxybenzenesulfonamide, which underwent a sequence of consecutive N-deprotective cyclization process mediated by TMSCI-NaI-MeCN reagent to afford the N-sulfonylimine. Following the bromination and ring expansion, 3-methyl-3-（4-methylphenyl）-2H-benzo[e][1,2]thiazine-l,l,4-trione was obtained. Optical resolution of the racemic benzosultam using （-）-menthoxyacetyl chloride, furnished the optically *** （＋）- and （-）-3-methyl-3-（4-methylphenyl）-2H- benzo[e][1,2]thiazine-1,1,4-triones, which were fluorinated with FC103 to produce the corresponding chiral N-F agents.

Mesenchymal stem cells （MSCs） are characterized by their self-renewing capacity and differentiation potential into multiple tissues. Thus, management of the differentiation capacities of MSCs is important for MSC-based regenerative medicine, such as craniofacial bone regeneration, and in new treatments for metabolic bone diseases, such as osteoporosis. In recent years, histone modification has been a growing topic in the field of MSC lineage specification, in which the Su（var）3-9, enhancer-of-zeste, trithorax （SET） domain-containing family and the Jumonji C （JmjC） domain-containing family represent the major histone lysine methyltransferases （KMTs） and histone lysine demethylases （KDMs）, respectively. In this review, we summarize the current understanding of the epigenetic mechanisms by which SET domain-containine KMTs and JmiC domain-containinlz KDMs balance the osteogenic and adipogenic differentiation of MSCs.

Intracellular aggregation of peptide-reprogrammed small molecule nanoassemblies enhances cancer chemotherapy and combinatorial immunotherapy

The intracellular retention of nanotherapeutics is essential for their therapeutic *** immobilization of nanotherapeutics inside target cell types can regulate various cell ***,strategies for the intracellular immobilization of nanoparticles are ***,a cisplatin prodrug was synthesized and utilized as a glutathione(GSH)-activated linker to induce aggregation of the cisplatin prodrug/IR820/docetaxel *** nanoassembly has been reprogrammed with peptidecontaining moieties for tumor-targeting and PD-1/PD-L1 *** aggregation of the nanoassemblies is dependent on GSH *** in vitro and in vivo revealed that GSH-induced intracellular aggregation of the nanoassemblies enhances therapeutic activity in primary tumors by enhancing the accumulation and prolonging the retention of the chemotherapeutics in the tumor site and inducing reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation and immunogenic cell ***,the nanoassemblies reinvigorate the immunocytes,especially the systemic immunocytes,and thereby alleviate pulmonary metastasis,even though the population of immunocytes in the primary tumor site is suppressed due to the enhanced accumulation of *** strategy provides a promising option for the intracellular immobilization of nanoparticles in vitro and in vivo.

Toward favorable detection performance and low complexity by incorporating MIMO detection with ARQ

Although multiple-input-multiple-output （MIMO） detection has received much research attention in the past years, to the author＇s knowledge, few detection methods demonstrate optimal/near-optimal performance with low complexity. This paper proposes to incorporate automatic retransmission request （ARQ） with sub-optimal MIMO detectors so as to achieve both favorable performance and low complexity. In the study, retransmission delay induced by ARQ is exploited as a source of improving the detection performance of low complexity algorithms. In particular, the detection performance of sub-optimal algorithms improved by introducing ARQ is analyzed theoretically. A sufficient condition for such scheme to achieve full-diversity performance is also derived which relates detection performance with number of transmission times. Moreover, throughput cost by retransmission is deduced as well as its lower bound. The zero-forcing （ZF） equalizer cooperating with ARQ, as a case study, is shown to have evident performance improvement through theoretical analysis. And numerical results are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed scheme which boosts the performance of sub-optimal detector and possesses lower implementation complexity for practical reality simultaneously.

Effect of alkalinity on nitrite accumulation in treatment of coal chemical industry wastewater using moving bed biofilm reactor

Nitrogen removal via nitrite （the nitrite pathway） is more suitable for carbon-limited industrial wastewater. Partial nitrification to nitrite is the primary step to achieve nitrogen removal via nitrite. The effect of alkalinity on nitrite accumulation in a continuous process was investigated by progressively increasing the alkalinity dosage ratio （amount of alkalinity to ammonia ratio, mol/mol）. There is a close relationship among alkalinity, pH and the state of matter present in aqueous solution. When alkalinity was insufficient （compared to the theoretical alkalinity amount）, ammonia removal efficiency increased first and then decreased at each alkalinity dosage ratio, with an abrupt removal efficiency peak. Generally, ammonia removal efficiency rose with increasing alkalinity dosage ratio. Ammonia removal efficiency reached to 88% from 23% when alkalinity addition was sufficient. Nitrite accumulation could be achieved by inhibiting nitrite oxidizing bacteria （NOB） by free ammonia （FA） in the early period and free nitrous acid in the later period of nitrification when alkalinity was not adequate. Only FA worked to inhibit the activity of NOB when alkalinity addition was sufficient.
