Objective: The effects of arsenic trioxide(As2O3) on hepatocellular carcinoma have been documented widely. Autophagy plays dual roles in the survival and death of cancer cells. Therefore, we investigated the exact role of autophagy in As2O3-induced apoptosis in liver cancer ***: The viability of hepatoma cells was determined using the MTT assay with or without fetal bovine serum. The rate of apoptosis in liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was evaluated using flow cytometry, Hoechst 33258 staining, and TUNEL assays. The rate of autophagy among liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was detected using immunofluorescence, Western blot assay and transmission electron ***: Upon treatment with As2O3, the viability of HepG2 and SMMC-7721 cells was decreased in a time-and dose-dependent manner. The apoptosis rates of both liver cancer cell lines increased with the concentration of As2O3, as shown by flow cytometry. Apoptosis in liver cancer cells treated with As2O3was also shown by the activation of the caspase cascade and the regulation of Bcl-2/Bax ***, As2O3treatment induced autophagy in liver cancer cells;this finding was supported by Western blot, immunofluorescence of LC3-II and beclin 1, and transmission electron microscopy. In liver cancer cells, As2O3inhibited the phosphoinositide 3-kinase/protein kinase B/mammalian target of rapamycin(PI3K/AKT/mTOR) signal pathway that plays a vital role in both apoptosis and autophagy. The PI3K activator SC-79 partially reversed As2O3-induced autophagy and apoptosis. Furthermore, inhibiting autophagy with 3-methyladenine partially reversed the negative effects of As2O3on cell *** starvation increased autophagy and amplified the effect of As2O3on cell ***: As2O3induces apoptosis and autophagy in liver cancer cells. The popularity of the Internet of Things(IoT)has enabled a large number of vulnerable devices to connect to the Internet,bringing huge security *** a network-level security authentication method,device fingerprint based on machine learning has attracted considerable attention because it can detect vulnerable devices in complex and heterogeneous access ***,flexible and diversified IoT devices with limited resources increase dif-ficulty of the device fingerprint authentication method executed in IoT,because it needs to retrain the model network to deal with incremental features or *** address this problem,a device fingerprinting mechanism based on a Broad Learning System(BLS)is proposed in this *** mechanism firstly characterizes IoT devices by traffic analysis based on the identifiable differences of the traffic data of IoT devices,and extracts feature parameters of the traffic packets.A hierarchical hybrid sampling method is designed at the preprocessing phase to improve the imbalanced data distribution and reconstruct the fingerprint *** complexity of the dataset is reduced using Principal Component Analysis(PCA)and the device type is identified by training weights using *** experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve state-of-the-art accuracy and spend less training time than other existing methods.

Representing the next-generation technology in lithium-ion batteries,lithium-sulfur(Li-S)batteries offer increased specific energy without relying on scarce metals like nickel and cobalt,but suffer from a low practical specific energy due to poor conductivity and a short lifespan due to the shuttle effect of *** the confinement of polysulfides and the transport of lithium ions requires highly elaborate modifiers for *** multi-shelled structures(HoMSs)show promise as hierarchical mesostructures for separators,offering multiple shell layers and internal cavities that effectively inhibit polysulfide *** design of these structures is crucial to address these challenges *** this study,nitrogen-doped carbon HoMS(NC HoMS)was created using polymer templates through a precisely controlled polymerization *** featuring NC HoMS-modified separators exhibit improved capacity and cycling stability in comparison to those utilizing commercial ***,triple-shelled NC HoMS strikes a balance in polysulfide containment and lithium ion *** a sulfur loading of 6.34 mg/cm^(2),the Li-S battery can consistently complete 100 charge-discharge cycles,starting with a discharge capacity of 966.4 mA·h/g with a 75.8%capacity retention *** HoMS holds potential as the separator modifier in addressing the polysulfide shuttle problem and facilitating the Li-ion transportation for advanced Li-S batteries.
