Epilepsy is a common neurological disorder, and its electrophysiology characteristic is abnormally high excitability and synchronization of the neural activity. This paper focuses on the study of medial temporal lobe epilepsy with hippocampal sclerosis. The hippocampus plays an important role in short-term memory. However, little is known about the connectivity between hippocampal structures and adjacent brain regions. The functional and structural connectivity between patients and controls was investigated by using the techniques of functional magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging in the paper. Three pairs of ROIs related to working memory from BOLD-fMRI data were chosen. These ROIs were registrated from MNI space to individual space and the fiber bundle between two ROIs were traced in the DTI images. The results show that the number of fiber bundle of patients reduce among these ROIs, such as left hippocampus and right hippocampus, left hippocampus and left thalamus, left hippocampus and left frontal lobe and so on. And the number of fiber bundle of patients increase among these ROIs, such as left thalamus and right thalamus, right hippocampus and right thalamus. And the FA values of the fiber bundles of patients in some regions related to left hippocampus decrease. The cause of abnormal functional and structural connections due to the damage of hippocampus in medial temporal lobe epilepsy is studied from a new perspective.

Doyle-Kirmse rearrangement reactions have received continuous attention as an important method for constructing complex chemical structures. Herein, we disclosed an efficient rhodium-catalyzed DoyleKirmse rearrangement reaction, which can simultaneously construct C–C bonds and C–X(X = S/Se) bonds using sulfoxonium ylides as starting materials to obtain sulfur-or selenium-containing compounds. This strategy is characterized by the safer and greener carbene precursor, high yields and broad substrate scope, possessing a wide range of application.

The popularity of the Internet of Things(IoT)has enabled a large number of vulnerable devices to connect to the Internet,bringing huge security *** a network-level security authentication method,device fingerprint based on machine learning has attracted considerable attention because it can detect vulnerable devices in complex and heterogeneous access ***,flexible and diversified IoT devices with limited resources increase dif-ficulty of the device fingerprint authentication method executed in IoT,because it needs to retrain the model network to deal with incremental features or *** address this problem,a device fingerprinting mechanism based on a Broad Learning System(BLS)is proposed in this *** mechanism firstly characterizes IoT devices by traffic analysis based on the identifiable differences of the traffic data of IoT devices,and extracts feature parameters of the traffic packets.A hierarchical hybrid sampling method is designed at the preprocessing phase to improve the imbalanced data distribution and reconstruct the fingerprint *** complexity of the dataset is reduced using Principal Component Analysis(PCA)and the device type is identified by training weights using *** experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve state-of-the-art accuracy and spend less training time than other existing methods.

Organic room temperature phosphorescence(RTP)materials have potential applications in information technology and ***,the precise control of the afterglow in reversible manners remains challenging for organic ***,we report a kind of organic RTP material fabricated by simple heating mixtures of tartaric acid(TA)and aromatic acids,which can switch their phosphorescence by *** mixtures show tunable phosphorescence from indigo to orange with phosphorescence efficiency of up to 53.99% due to locking different organic luminogens by the TA-formed matrix through the noncovalent *** afterglow of those materials lasts a few seconds and disappears by water fumigation,which can be repeated in response to wet/heat *** drop-casting those materials on glass slides,a laser-repatternable phosphorescence is achieved by facile laser direct writing and quenched by water *** results open the opportunity for the design of smart stimuli-responsive phosphorescence materials from sustainable natural products.

A new medical image fusion technique is *** method is based on three-dimensional *** reconstruction,the three-dimensional volume data is normalized by three-dimensional coordinate conversion in the same way and intercepted through setting up cutting plane including anatomical structure,as a result two images in entire registration on space and geometry are obtained and the images are fused at *** with traditional two-dimensional fusion technique,three-dimensional fusion technique can not only resolve the different problems existed in the two kinds of images,but also avoid the registration error of the two kinds of images when they have different scan and imaging *** research proves this fusion technique is more exact and has no registration,so it is more adapt to arbitrary medical image fusion with different equipments.

In recent years,many medical image fusion methods had been exploited to derive useful information from multimodality medical image data,but,not an appropriate fusion algorithm for anatomical and functional medical *** this paper,the traditional method of wavelet fusion is improved and a new fusion algorithm of anatomical and functional medical images,in which high-frequency and low-frequency coefficients are studied *** choosing high-frequency coefficients,the global gradient of each sub-image is calculated to realize adaptive fusion,so that the fused image can reserve the functional information;while choosing the low coefficients is based on the analysis of the neighborbood region energy,so that the fused image can reserve the anatomical image's edge and texture *** results and the quality evaluation parameters show that the improved fusion algorithm can enhance the edge and texture feature and retain the function information and anatomical information effectively.

Impaired brain glucose metabolism is an early indicator of Alzheimer’s disease(AD);however,the fundamental mechanism is *** this study,we found a substantial decline in isocitrate dehydrogenase 3β(IDH3β)levels,a critical tricarboxylic acid cycle enzyme,in AD patients and AD-transgenic mice’s *** investigations demonstrated that the knockdown of IDH3βinduced oxidation-phosphorylation uncoupling,leading to reduced energy metabolism and lactate *** resulting increased lactate,a source of lactyl,was found to promote histone lactylation,thereby enhancing the expression of paired-box gene 6(PAX6).As an inhibitory transcription factor of IDH3β,the elevated PAX6 in turn inhibited the expression of IDH3β,leading to tau hyperphosphorylation,synapse impairment,and learning and memory deficits resembling those seen in *** AD-transgenic mice,upregulating IDH3βand downregulating PAX6 were found to improve cognitive functioning and reverse AD-like ***,our data suggest that impaired oxidative phosphorylation accelerates AD progression via a positive feedback inhibition loop of IDH3β-lactate-PAX6-IDH3β.Breaking this loop by upregulating IDH3βor downregulating PAX6 attenuates AD neurodegeneration and cognitive impairments.

Chitin hydrogel has been recognized as a promising material for various biomedical applications because of its biocompatibility and ***,the fabrication of strong chitin hydrogel remains a big challenge because of the insolubility of chitin in many solvents and the reduced chain length of chitin regenerated from *** herein introduce the fabrication of chitin hydrogel with biomimetic structure through the chemical transformation of chitosan,which is a water-soluble deacetylated derivative of *** reacetylation of the amino group in chitosan endows the obtained chitin hydrogel with outstanding resistance to swelling,degradation,extreme temperature and pH conditions,and organic *** chitin hydrogel has excellent mechanical properties while retaining a high water content(more than 95 wt.%).It also shows excellent antifouling performance that it resists the adhesion of proteins,bacteria,blood,and ***,as the initial chitosan solution can be feasibly frozen and templated by ice crystals,the chitin hydrogel structure can be either nacre-like or wood-like depending on the freezing method of the precursory chitosan *** to these anisotropic structures,such chitin hydrogel can exhibit anisotropic mechanics and mass transfer *** current work provides a rational strategy to fabricate chitin hydrogels and paves the way for its practical applications as a superior biomedical material.

An Improved Fixed-point Algorithm for Independent Component Analysis of Functional MRI Data

The fixed-point algorithm and infomax algorithm are two of the most popular algorithms in independent component analysis(ICA).However,it is hard to take both stability and speed into consideration in processing functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI)*** this paper,an optimization model for ICA is presented and an improved fixed-point algorithm based on the model is *** the new algorithms a small step size is added to increase the *** order to accelerate the convergence,an improvement on Newton method is made,which makes cubic convergence for the new *** the algorithm and two other algorithms to invivo fMRI data,the results show that the new algorithm separates independent components stably,which has faster convergence speed and less computation than the other two *** algorithm has obvious advantage in processing fMRI signal with huge data.
