To monitor nuclear and radiation emergencies,it is crucial to obtain accurate in situ measurements of the environmentalγ radiation dose rate from key radionuclides,particularly for large radioactive surface *** methods currently used for measuring dose rates are inadequate for obtaining the dose rates of key radionuclides and have large angular response errors when monitoring surface *** address this practical problem,this study proposes three methods for measuring the dose rate:the weighted peak total ratio,mean value regression,and numerical integration *** methods are based on energy-spectrum measurement data,and they were theoretically derived and numerically ***,a 1-m-long hexagonal radioactive surface source was integrated into a larger surface *** situ measurement experiments were conducted on a large radioactive surface source using a dose-rate meter and a portable HPGespectrometer to analyze the errors of the three aforementioned methods and verify their validity.

Epstein-Barr virus(EBV), the first identified human tumor virus, is implicated in various human malignancies, infectious mononucleosis,and more recently, multiple sclerosis. Prophylactic vaccines have the potential to effectively prevent EBV infection. Glycoprotein B(gB)serves as the fusogen and plays a pivotal role in the virus entry process, making it a critical target for EBV vaccine development. Surface membrane proteins of enveloped viruses serve as native conformational antigens, making them susceptible to immune recognition. Utilizing lipid membrane-bound viral antigens is a promising strategy for effective vaccine presentation in this context. In this study, we employed a truncated design for gB proteins, observing that these truncated gB proteins prompted a substantial release of extracellular vesicles(EVs) in insect cells. We verified that EVs exhibited abundant gB proteins, displaying the typical virus particle morphology and extracellular vesicle characteristics. gB EVs demonstrated a more efficient humoral and cellular immune response compared with the gB ectodomain trimer vaccine in mice. Moreover, the antisera induced by the gB EVs vaccine exhibited robust antibody-dependent cytotoxicity. Consequently, gB EVs-based vaccines hold significant potential for preventing EBV infection and offer valuable insights for vaccine design.

This research optimized the structure of lithium extraction solar ponds to enhance the crystallization rate and yield of Li_(2)CO_(3).Using the response surface methodology in Design-Expert 10.0.3,the authors conducted experiments to investigate the influence of four factors related to solar pond structure on the crystallization of Li_(2)CO_(3) and their pairwise *** Fluid Dynamics(CFD)simulations of the flow field within the solar pond were performed using COMSOL Multiphysics software to compare temperature distributions before and after *** results indicate that the optimal structure for lithium extraction from the Zabuye Salt Lake solar ponds includes UCZ(Upper Convective Zone)thickness of 53.63 cm,an LCZ(Lower Convective Zone)direct heating temperature of 57.39℃,a CO32−concentration of 32.21 g/L,and an added soda ash concentration of 6.52 g/*** this optimized pathway,the Li_(2)CO_(3) precipitation increased by 7.34% compared to the initial solar pond process,with a 33.33% improvement in lithium carbonate crystallization *** study demonstrates the feasibility of optimizing lithium extraction solar pond structures,offering a new approach for constructing such ponds in salt *** provides valuable guidance for the efficient extraction of lithium resources from carbonate-type salt lake brines.

Scientific knowledge on the chemical compositions of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) is essential for properly assessing its health and climate effects, and for decisionmakers to develop efficient mitigation strategies. A high-resolution PM2.5 chemical composition dataset (CAQRA-aerosol) is developed in this study, which provides hourly maps of organic carbon, black carbon, ammonium, nitrate, and sulfate in China from 2013 to 2020 with a horizontal resolution of 15 km. This paper describes the method, access, and validation results of this dataset. It shows that CAQRA-aerosol has good consistency with observations and achieves higher or comparable accuracy with previous PM2.5 composition datasets. Based on CAQRA-aerosol, spatiotemporal changes of different PM2.5 compositions were investigated from a national viewpoint, which emphasizes different changes of nitrate from other compositions. The estimated annual rate of population-weighted concentrations of nitrate is 0.23 mu g m(-3) yr(-1) from 2015 to 2020, compared with -0.19 to -1.1 mu g m(-3) yr(-1) for other compositions. This letter to the editor involves the article published in the World Journal of Gastrointestinal Oncology. Bone metastasis (BM) in gastric cancer (GC) is uncommon but can be prevalent in autopsy studies. BM significantly impairs quality of life and is frequently underdiagnosed, as sensitive diagnostic tests are only performed after symptoms occur. Imaging is crucial for the diagnosis of BM but is not routinely used for screening and is expensive. Examining laboratory risk factors for BM in GC patients using multivariate analysis could be a more effective approach. © The Author(s) 2025. Published by Baishideng Publishing Group Inc. BACKGROUND Splenectomy is an effective yet invasive intervention for alleviating portal pressure in patients with hepatitis ***,the current prognostic indicators for predicting long-term overall survival of these patients have several *** To assess the potential of preoperative total bilirubin-albumin(B/A)ratio as a prognostic indicator for patients with hepatitis cirrhosis undergoing *** A total of 257 patients diagnosed with hepatitis cirrhosis were retrospectively enrolled in the *** test,t-test,Wilcoxon test,χ2 test,or Fisher’s exact test was employed to analyze the intraoperative and postoperative conditions of the *** operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis was utilized to depict the 10-year overall survival *** During the follow-up period,85.99%of the patients survived,with a median survival time of 64.6 *** analysis revealed that total serum B/A ratio was an independent risk factor for overall survival(P=0.037).ROC curve analysis demonstrated that a B/A ratio of 0.87 was the optimal cut-off ***,the patients were categorized into two groups:High B/A group(n=64)and low B/A group(n=193).The median follow-up time for the high B/A group and low B/A group was 56.8 months and 67.2 months,respectively(P=0.045).Notably,the high B/A group exhibited a significantly lower 10-year overall survival compared to the low B/A group(P<0.001).Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)had lower overall survival *** with a high B/A ratio exhibited a lower overall survival than those with a low B/A rate in the overall cohort and the subgroups of patients with HCC or not,early Child-Pugh grade,low albumin-bilirubin grade,and model for end-stage liver disease score≥10(log-rank test,P<0.001 for all).CONCLUSION The B/A ratio can serve as an effective prognostic indicator for overall survival in patients with hepatitis B virusrelated cirrhosis following splenectom

The utilization of high-resolution haptic feedback devices in a virtual reality(VR)environment can increase the precision of controlling remotely operated vehicles and reduce training costs for subsea construction *** paper introduces a novel flexible-driven wearable pin-array *** spatial separation of the control box and actuator allows the device to attain natural and seamless interactive movements while delivering high-density haptic feedback in *** pin array consists of 25 haptic pin modules that run on a linear servo motor via a flexible shaft for force *** analysis and calculation of the flexible transmission resistance effect using the haptic pin module's shaft length and bending radius were conducted.A series of experiments was performed to gather comprehensive data on the pin module's output,transmission resistance and error,and response delay to optimize its structural design and transmission *** device's effectiveness in rendering shape and coarse texture was evaluated via two user *** results affirm that the introduced device enables users to precisely discern seven shapes and four distinct coarse surfaces.
