Glucose-conjugated chitosan nanoparticles for targeted drug delivery and their specific interaction with tumor cells

A novel targeted drug delivery system, glucose-conjugated chitosan nanoparticles （GCNPs）, was developed for specific recognition and interaction with glucose transporters （Gluts） over-expressed by tumor cells. GC was synthesized by using succinic acid as a linker between glucosamine and chitosan （CS）, and successful synthesis was confirmed by NMR and elemental analysis. GCNPs were prepared by ionic crosslinking method, and characterized in terms of morphology, size, and zeta potential. The optimally prepared nanoparticles showed spherical shapes with an average particle size of （187.9 ± 3.8） nm and a zeta potential of （-15.43 ± 0.31） mV. The GCNPs showed negligible cytotoxicity to mouse embryo fibroblast and 4T1 cells. Doxorubicin （DOX） could be efficiently entrapped into GCNPs, with a loading capacity and encapsulation efficiency of 20.11% and 64.81%, respectively. DOX-Ioaded nanoparticles exhibited sustained-release behavior in phosphate buffered saline （pH 7.4）. In vitro cellular uptake studies showed that the GCNPs had better endocytosis ability than CSNPs, and the antitumor activity of DOX/GCNPs was 4-5 times effectiveness in 4T1 cell killing than that of DOX/CSNPs. All the results demonstrate that nanoparticles decorated with glucose have specific interactions with cancer cells via the recognition between glucose and Gluts. Therefore, Gluts-targeted GCNPs may be promising delivery agents in cancer therapies.

Viscosity and structure relationship with equimolar substitution of CaO with MgO in the CaO–MgO–Al_(2)O_(3)–SiO_(2)slag melts

Currently,the Al_(2)O_(3)content in the high-alumina slag systems within blast furnaces is generally limited to 16wt%–18.5wt%,making it challenging to overcome this *** most studies that concentrated on managing the MgO/Al_(2)O_(3)ratio or basicity,this paper explored the effect of equimolar substitution of MgO for CaO on the viscosity and structure of a high-alumina CaO-MgO-Al_(2)O_(3)-SiO_(2)slag system,providing theoretical guidance and data to facilitate the application of high-alumina *** results revealed that the viscosity first decreased and then increased with higher MgO substitution,reaching a minimum at 15mol%MgO *** transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)results found that the depths of the troughs representing[SiO_(4)]tetrahedra,[AlO_(4)]tetrahedra,and Si-O-Al bending became progressively deeper with increased MgO *** of the Raman spectra showed that the average number of bridging oxygens per Si atom and the X_(Q^(3))/X_(Q^(2))(X_(Q^(i))is the molar fraction of Q^(i) unit,and i is the number of bridging oxygens in a[SiO_(4)]tetrahedral unit)ratio increased from 2.30 and 1.02 to 2.52 and 2.14,respectively,indicating a progressive polymerization of the silicate structure.X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)results highlighted that non-bridging oxygen content decreased from 77.97mol% to 63.41mol% with increasing MgO concentration,whereas bridging oxygen and free oxygen contents *** analysis demonstrated a gradual increase in the polymerization degree of the tetrahedral structure with the increase in MgO ***,bond strength is another important factor affecting the slag *** occurrence of a viscosity minimum can be attributed to the complex evolution of bond strengths of non-bridging oxygens generated during depolymerization of the[SiO_(4)]and[AlO_(4)]tetrahedral structures by CaO and MgO.

Statistical Research on Megahertz-peaked Spectra Pulsars

Megahertz-peaked spectra(MPS) pulsars are referred as cases whose radio spectra turn over around 100 MHz. We identified 53 MPS pulsars based on the spectral data from the literature, and statistically analyzed the spatial location distribution, the magnetic field-period distribution, peak frequencies, spectral indices, and dispersion measures of these MPS pulsars. We found that there is a strong positive correlation between the dispersion measures and the peak frequencies of MPS pulsars, and negative correlations of the dispersion measures with spectral indices and the ages are also found. Such correlations suggest that the interstellar medium is an important factor that affects observational properties of MPS pulsars.

The grain size of TiAl alloy castings prepared by traditional casting process is coarse,thus showing poor mechanical *** this study,a new type of high performance Ti-46Al alloy tube prepared by vacuum centrifugal casting technology was *** research comprehensively examined the influence of pouring time on the microstructure and mechanical performance of the castings,employing both experimental approaches and ProCast simulation *** findings indicate that prolonging the pouring time facilitates a microstructural evolution from coarse columnar grains to refined equiaxed *** the condition of pouring temperature of 1,600℃,rotation speed of 800 r·min^(-1) and pouring time of 6 s,the tensile strength of Ti-46Al alloy at room temperature reaches 650 MPa,and the tensile strength at 800℃ reaches 705 MPa,which is significantly higher than that of traditional as-cast Ti-Al alloy.

On the interfacial behavior of a one-dimensional hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal film based on the beam theory

In this paper, the mechanical response of a one-dimensional (1D) hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal (PQC) thin film is analyzed under electric and temperature loads. Based on the Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, a theoretical model is proposed, resulting in coupled governing integral equations that account for interfacial normal and shear stresses. To numerically solve these integral equations, an expansion method using orthogonal Chebyshev polynomials is employed. The results provide insights into the interfacial stresses, axial force, as well as axial and vertical deformations of the PQC ***, fracture criteria, including stress intensity factors, mode angles, and the Jintegral, are evaluated. The solution is compared with the membrane theory, neglecting the normal stress and bending deformation. Finally, the effects of stiffness and aspect ratio on the PQC film are thoroughly discussed. This study serves as a valuable guide for controlling the mechanical response and conducting safety assessments of PQC film systems.
