Clinical effects of nonconvulsive electrotherapy combined with mindfulness-based stress reduction and changes of serum inflammatory factors in depression

The ^(232)Th(n,f)cross section is very important in basic nuclear physics and applications based on the Th/U fuel *** the time-of-flight method and a multi-cell fast-fission ionization chamber,a novel measurement of the^(232)Th(n,f)cross sec-tion relative to^(235)U in the 1–200 MeV range was performed at the China Spallation Neutron Source Back-n white neutron source(Back-n).The fission event-neutron energy spectra of^(232)Th and^(235)U fission cells were measured in the single-bunch *** 232Th/235U fission cross-sectional ratios were obtained,and the measurement uncertainties were 2.5–3.7%for energies in the 2–20 MeV range and 3.6–6.2%for energies in the 20–200 MeV ***^(232)Th(n,f)cross section was obtained by introducing the standard cross section of^(235)U(n,f).The results were compared with those of previous theoreti-cal calculations,measurements,and *** measured 232Th fission cross section agreed with the main evaluation results in terms of the experimental uncertainty,and 232Th fission resonances were observed in the 1–3 MeV *** present results provide^(232)Th(n,f)cross-sectional data for the evaluation and design of Th/U cycle nuclear systems.

Modularly assembled multiplex prime editors for simultaneous editing of agronomically important genes in rice

Prime editing(PE)technology enables precise alterations in the genetic code of a genome of *** offers great potential for identifying major agronomically important genes in plants and editing them into superior variants,ideally targeting multiple loci simultaneously to realize the collective effects of the ***,we report the development of a modular assembly-based multiplex PE system in rice and demon-strate its efficacy in editing up to four genes in a single transformation *** duplex PE(DPE)system achieved a co-editing efficiency of 46.1%in the T0 generation,converting TFIIAg5 to xa5 and xa23 to *** resulting double-mutant lines exhibited robust broad-spectrum resistance against multiple Xanthomonas oryzae pathovar oryzae(Xoo)strains in the T1 *** addition,we success-fully edited OsEPSPS1 to an herbicide-tolerant variant and OsSWEET11a to a Xoo-resistant allele,achieving a co-editing rate of 57.14%.Furthermore,with the quadruple PE(QPE)system,we edited four genes—two for herbicide tolerance(OsEPSPS1 and OsALS1)and two for Xoo resistance(TFIIAg5 and OsSWEET11a)—using one construct,with a co-editing efficiency of 43.5%for all four genes in the T0 *** performed multiplex PE usingfive more constructs,including two for triplex PE(TPE)and three for QPE,each targeting a different set of *** editing rates were dependent on the activity of pegRNA and/or *** instance,optimization of ngRNA increased the PE rates for one of the targets(OsSPL13)from 0%to 30%but did not improve editing at another target(OsGS2).Overall,our modular assembly-based system yielded high PE rates and streamlined the cloning of PE reagents,making it feasible for more labs to utilize PE for their editing *** have significant implications for advancing gene editing techniques in plants and may pave the way for future agricultural applications.

Background: Hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI) stands as an unavoidable complication arising from liver surgery, profoundly intertwined with its prognosis. The role of lysine methyltransferase SET domain bifurcated 1 (SETDB1) in HIRI remains elusive, despite its confirmation as a potential therapeutic target for diverse diseases. Here, we investigated the mechanism by which SETDB1 regulated HIRI. Methods: RNA sequencing data were used to identify the expression and potential targets of SETDB1 through bioinformatics analysis. To elucidate the impact of SETDB1 on HIRI, both an in vivo model of HIRI in mice and an in vitro model of hepatocyte hypoxia/reoxygenation were established. Biochemical and histological analyses were used to investigate the influence of SETDB1 on liver damage mediated by HIRI. Chromatin immunoprecipitation and coimmunoprecipitation were implemented to explore the in-depth mechanism of SETDB1 regulating HIRI. Results: We confirmed that hepatocellular SETDB1 was up-regulated during HIRI and had a close correlation with HIRI-related inflammation and apoptosis. Moreover, inhibition of SETDB1 could mitigate HIRI-induced liver damage, inflammation, and apoptosis. Through our comprehensive mechanistic investigation, we revealed that SETDB1 interacts with apoptosis-signal-regulating kinase 1 (ASK1) and facilitates the methylation of its lysine residues. Inhibition of SETDB1 resulted in reduced phosphorylation of ASK1, leading to a marked suppression of downstream c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK)/p38 signaling pathway activation. The therapeutic effect on inflammation and apoptosis achieved through SETDB1 inhibition was nullified by the restoration of JNK/p38 signaling activation through ASK1 overexpression. Conclusions: The findings from our study indicate that SETDB1 mediates lysine methylation of ASK1 and modulates the activation of the ASK1–JNK/p38 pathway, thus involved in HIRI-induced inflammation and apoptosis. The universal synthesis of highly stable covalent organic frameworks(COFs)for ultra-sensitive and multi-component electrochemical detection in different scenarios remains a great ***,a series of metallophthalocyanine-based twodimensional(2D)dioxin(DXI)-linked metalophthalocyanine(MPc)-n DXI-COFs(M=Ni,Zn;n=1,2)are afforded in high yield(80%-96%)by a facile trace-quinoline assisted one-pot condensation of tetracarbonitrile *** X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy investigations disclose their lamellar texture 2D network with AA stacking *** and calculation results elucidate that the 2DXI-linked MPc-2DXI-COFs provide the stronger built-in electronic field and more electrostatic/hydrogen bonding adsorption sites than DXI-linked MPc-DXI-COFs,and the lower electrode reaction Gibbs free energy and stronger adsorption of analytes at Ni Pc than Zn Pc unit,which grants Ni Pc-2DXI-COF excellent sensing properties for various analytes including neurotransmitters,organic pollutants,and heavy metal ions,with high sensitivity and low detection limit of 0.53 to 25.66 *** in binary and ternary systems and even in real-world conditions,simultaneous multi-component detection could be achieved.

Enhancement of comprehensive properties of Nb-Si based in-situ composites by Ho rare earth doping

Realizing the excellent oxidation resistance of an environmental barrier coating through aluminum surface modification

Back-streaming neutrons from the spallation target of the China Spallation Neutron Source(CSNS)that emit through the incoming proton channel were exploited to build a white neutron beam facility(the so-called Back-n white neutron source),which was completed in March *** Back-n neutron beam is very intense,at approximately 29107 n/cm2/s at 55 m from the target,and has a nominal proton beam with a power of 100 kW in the CSNS-I phase and a kinetic energy of 1.6 GeV and a thick tungsten target in multiple slices with modest moderation from the cooling water through the *** addition,the excellent energy spectrum spanning from 0.5 eV to 200 MeV,and a good time resolution related tothe time-of-flight measurements make it a typical white neutron source for nuclear data measurements;its overall performance is among that of the best white neutron sources in the *** with advanced spectrometers,detectors,and application utilities,the Back-n facility can serve wide applications,with a focus on neutron-induced cross-sectional *** article presents an overview of the neutron beam characteristics,the experimental setups,and the ongoing applications at Backn.
